The cutest little lion cubs🦁🥰
In the early morning glow, the dam inflow is the playground for four little lion cubs. Their fur shines as they romp around, kicking up sand and playing like kids. They chase each other, tumbling and wrestling in the soft sand, excited to start their journey.
Very special to see these little ones, with only about three to four months they are still very fragile. A lioness usually gives birth to between two and four cubs. Litter sizes of up to six cubs have been recorded. When it is time to give birth the lioness will move away from the pride to hide in the dens bush. This is a tricky time for her since she doesn't have the protection of the pride during that time. She will leave the cubs in the dense vegetation to hunt and will come back immediately after. During the hunt the cubs keep still and hide away from potential danger. Which is not always successful, about 50% of the cubs do not make it to adulthood.

Playful elephants having some fun🐘
มุมมอง 405วันที่ผ่านมา
At one of the dams in Thornybush Nature Reserve we came across a bachelor herd of elephants just standing at the waters edge. We felt tention in the air but thought they were just interpreting their surrounding. After a minute or two it all became clear what was happening. The two young males in the background were having a little standoff with each other and eventually started chasing each oth...
The wild side💥 #recap7
มุมมอง 33814 วันที่ผ่านมา
A new recap!! In this video you can find a recap from the incredible sightings we had the last few weeks! Thornybush Nature Reserve has been delivering in my first month here! The season is changing and slowly but surely we are heading towards winter. This means that the bush is slowly turning yellow and the small puddles of water are drying out. We were very lucky to find lots of ellies, a mal...
Persistence is key🐆
มุมมอง 41914 วันที่ผ่านมา
Leopards mating involves a series of behaviors that are both fascinating and intense. It typically begins with the female leopard courting the male, which may involve vocalizations, scent marking, and rubbing against each other. Yes, that is correct. The female initiates mating if it comes to leopards. Once the female is receptive, mating occurs after seducing the male for a while, she has to b...
Coalition claiming territory🦁🔥
มุมมอง 14K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
The deep roars of two male lions of the 'Black Dam Boys' fill the air as they venture into the territory of the Monwana pride. Their imposing presence and echoing calls serve as both a warning and a challenge to any who dare to oppose them. The dominant male of the Monwana pride, Mapoza, was seen moving away from these guys when they entered. I did not ent up into a proper fight and after a day...
Hyena vs vultures, absolute CHAOS!!😱
มุมมอง 1.1Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Vultures and hyenas often find themselves in competition over the leftovers of a carcass. Each has its own strategy for accessing and consuming the remains, and the outcome can vary depending on several factors such as the number of individuals involved, the condition of the carcass, and other environmental conditions. The interaction between vultures and hyenas at a buffalo carcass can be inte...
Feeding elephant herd gets unexpected visitors🐘🦏
มุมมอง 1Kหลายเดือนก่อน
I don't think there is something better than an elephant herd with youngsters feeding peacefully next to the game vehicle. I find it humbling that these giants tolerate you in their presence, as long as you respect their space. I always hope that they enjoy us paying a visit and us admiring them, if they could only knew how much love and appreciation I have for them. The herd was feeding all ar...
Leopard on an impala kill😱
มุมมอง 2.4Kหลายเดือนก่อน
A male leopard feeding on an impala in a tree paints a vivid picture of nature's raw beauty and the intricacies of predator-prey relationships. With stealth and precision, the leopard has seized its opportunity, capturing the unsuspecting impala and hoisting it up into the branches of the tree to feast upon its prey in relative safety. What you can't see in the video is that there are 6 hungry ...

Very happy to hear, appreciate the feedback!!🙏🏻 Hope you have a great day!
Merci pour ces belles images de la faune sauvage
Merci Monique 🙏🏻❤️
Thanks for the sharing! Did the hyena get the honey badger! I would think she could bite right through one!
Thank a lot, happy you enjoyed :) Luckily for the honey badger it got away!! There were 6 hyenas chasing it around but luckily it found a termite mound to hide in. Eventually he got away unharmed!
@@FieldGuideJordi Yay! That is one lucky honey badger!
@@lionfan9587 he is!!😝Although it surprises me how much a honey badger can handle. This little guy was bitten properly by multiple hyenas, but every single time he got bitten he seemed unharmed. Incredible!
@@FieldGuideJordi That is incredible considering the bite force of the hyenas!
Click bait. Don't watch!
These are real lions, not those pets who people pamper in cages.
There are not to be messed with!
Feisty!
It is very intense!!😁
Animal lindos ❤😊
They are beautiful animals🥰
Yeah it's really heartbreaking what's happening,😢😢 my heart goes to the mapoza PRIDE I pray that are as safe as possible can be,❤❤❤ I feel so sad about the Cubs, the Young Lions, have no idea, what to do, won't be able to hunt, or least protect themselves, I did see a few short videos of his young sons beautiful, do you know how my mapoza is doing is he back with any of the pride, how about the Lioness that was injured, I give her a lot of credit, she did not back down, which is great gave her pride time to run she nearly could have got killed, but she didn't, she's a true warrior 💯, oh and I have to say I pray 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 for their well-being
Hi there! Mapoza is back with the Monwana pride and also the injured female is around. They were in the timbavati for a little bit but came back now to thornybush since the black dam males went back to the south/west 😃
Thank you so much, 🥰 you made my Friday morning 🌄 now that's what I call quick service good news 💯👍 I'm so happy that, mapoza is with them, I've been so worried worrying about him, thinking about him throughout the day, on top of all the other pride that are having problems, and lions, and wildlife, I'm a big nature lover, and I'm so concerned with everything that's happening, to think, that we won't have lions, in the future 🦁, the numbers are going rapidly, on top of other wildlife, when need to start taking this very seriously, and unfortunately a lot of us are not, LIONS, play such a big role, including wildlife, time is running out, and thank God, there is some of us, that are trying to make change, but it's not enough 💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛@@FieldGuideJordi
@@JamesBowman-oy5dm thanks for your lovely message! I am happy to hear the positive news made your Friday morning. Let’s hope Mapoza stays safe and is able to keep his pride safe in the future!!
@@FieldGuideJordi thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️ from Chicago, we love our lions,, and wildlife, 😄

@@Fuster70 only one of the cubs got killed, it was not really a subadult. Luckily the female got away too, although she seems to be by herself at the moment
Hyenas nightmares 😂
Haha absolutely🤣 You don’t want to encounter these guys if you are an hyena…
Retreat old king with your pride until those nasty Black Rocks return to where they belong. Keep your subs growing until they can help
DOUBLE TROUBLE 🦁🦁 Finally… Great video Great clarity Great sound Thanks for sharing 🐾🐾🐾🐾
Thank you so much!!😊
Seen the videos of silverfox safaris this morning. They killed one young male of the Monwana pride right?
I did see the video, absolute chaos! I was unfortunately on the other side of the reserve when it happened. As far as I know there is one cub killed and a female was badly injured. No other reports so far!
@@FieldGuideJordi Yeah definitely chaos. We had a similar sighting last year with the Monwana pride getting ambushed over night when we stayed at Saseka. So the old guy is still alive and well?
@@matthiasheise8684 Mapoza is still alive apparently, he ran off when the Black dam males made their approach!!
U have a link to that video?
@@noahm6782I don’t have a link but at the ‘wildfreelions’ instagram page you should be able to find it!!

that’s surprising cause usually in groups like that they would’ve just attacked the hiena
I think they already had a little breakfast before the hyena arrived. But you are right, sometimes they do chase the hyena away, although most of the times they will be patient!
Natur ❤️👍🏻♀️♂️🆗🇦🇹
Gonna wait for a minute
