I know some of the original miners from Mintabie. One family found over $2 million when they were establishing the opal field. Another miner took $1.2 Million out in 6 months, sold the claim and the buyer went broke. The next owner took 100's of thousands of dollars out of the same claim with in a week of taking over.
This is old and prolly mining in the town limits or whatever but I’m sure it’s still goin on somewhere..not to mention the ones who don’t care if your “not supposed” to mine there. Ya know.
Such an Amazing Emotional thing to Watch and For them to Experience I Just Hope they Reinvest the Money Buy some Decent Machinery Like a Big Digger or Bulldozer to Get Even More Opal!!!! Fingers Crossed they Become Multimillionaires!!!!
You are right .. I sell opals myself and heard the same a while ago however, I still see mintabie opals every now and then. I got some actually not far ago and I still see it around sometimes!
Said it once and all say it again red isn't sought after might be rarer but not sought after i hate any gem with red in it and my birthstone is ruby and a lot of people i show gems too never go for the red it's the deep blues and purples with gold and green that everyone is drawn too

Awesome ❤️🇨🇦
Only 2 years old..
Mintabie opal cracks bad
"You will end up with like 300 krt", at 900$ per krt it gives 270k not 100k
We gud at mafs in Australia
And that’s not considering opal in there worth upwards of 1500-3500 a karat.
Still not great if they already invested over 500k into the mine.
Wow!
Found it yew!!!!!!!
100k, it’s a bit more than that🤪
worth way more than 100k
Didn't we see this episode a couple months ago?
How many years old is this.............. (((
Costco brand Billy Butcher.
I’m confused I thought these mines were closed and no more Mintabie Opal as available other than what’s currently for sale $ …… ???? 🤔
its an older episode i think!
This episode was actually posted 1-2 years ago.

more then a 100k there iys chunky and special
100k split 3 ways 33k each, can earn that working at bunnings 8 months full time.
Why are they happy to break opal apart
Love to see it, makes a man want to move!
Only 400k to go for break even!
❤️❤️❤️🇻🇳💎💎🙏🙏
This is an old episode.
No one is giving them 900 a carrot lol it’s opal!
Unfortunately he fell out with his father three months later. Now they don't speak.
What Really Why??
Just wasn't mint to be ....
This is two year old it’s over two year old
Is this why you said it twice?
This is so old it’s from well before the old boy went insane
Went insane?
@@vangledosh yeah when the government made everyone leave mintabie to give it back to first Australians it really took its toll on him
ဝမ်သားစရာတွေရသောကျောက်မျာနဲအပြုံးများ
Old old why show it
I’m not the smartest person in the world but 300 carats * 900 per carat is a fair bit more the 100k.
Years old footage click bait
