Which is quicker in a drag race - an all-new Audi RS7 Performance, or a BMW M3 Touring?
Well we’re about to find out as they go head-to-head over the quarter-mile!
So let’s see how the two compare. Starting with the BMW, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six that can produce 510hp and 650Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at 1,865kg.
Then we come to the Audi. Under the bonnet it’s packing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this produces a glorious 630hp and 850Nm. It’s equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and this delivers the power to all-four wheels. When it comes to weight, it tips the scales at 2,065kg.

@@D1ssent. S58 is already established to be underrated. Typical bmw characteristic. Quoted 510 crank putting higher 400’s down on dynos lol. That’s a 540-560hp car. F10 M5 numbers for more perspective. RS7 did what it was supposed to do. As did the M3.
@@D1ssent. its not the M3 is 200kg lighter and it doesnt make 510hp dynos have shown it making 545-550 hp as BMW underrate their cars so that result is fair .The rs7 being an audi is likley making is actual figures.

They both are, the standard RS7 weighs 50lbs short of 5000lbs in the real world and makes around 540awhp on a dynojet according to Bms.
Often times we’ll see the standard trim RS6 compared to the M5 Comp or M3 comp, which isn’t comparable at all given that it’s a wagon and isn’t the performance trim.
The RS7 isn’t a sedan and weighs more than what an RS6 sedan would weigh (A7/S7 weighs more than A6/S6 sedan).
If Audi spent more on r&d for the EA839 (3.0t/2.9t) and given it larger turbos, then we could see them make similar power to the S58’s stock for stock.
Until then, they are making similar power to base/comp spec S55’s.
Its a great car but its not that special. Bmw lies very much on their power figures. That thing pribably has atleast 550hp.

If it wins against its natural competitor, they would say M3 is the best. If they lose against a segment above, they would say the fact that the race is happening shows how impressive the M3 is. And god forbids when M3 wins against sth like an RS7 performance, they would literally hit orgasm and claim the M3 is the second coming of Jesus. They are literally the tesla stan of the ICEVs, so annoying.

Honestly a regular m3 xdrive would of won the dig race. It does 11.0-11.1 quarter mile. M3 xdrive is faster then the entirety of the RS lineup lol.

It also offers the best performance, great practicality, and the cheapest running costs, outperforming anything else in its price range with ease.
I transitioned from a Porsche Carrera GT to a Plaid and would never go back. In every aspect except looks and steering, everything else i've owned is a massive downgrade.

We can then compare figures with other cars and bikes to make it interesting and see how fast these cars really go which should be impressive.
