Hey Russ. You missed the best vantage point of this vid right before 25:14. There was a scenic viewpoint on your right coming out of the switchbacks where you could have seen THOUSANDS of feet down the valley including the road you just traversed. It is a must stop your next time through.
Love Arizona!!! So beautiful state!! Been on vacation from Sweden 5 times and it has been the best vacations that i ever have had. I could move here for sure.
Well, shoot, Russ, a few steps more and you would have seen the best part of Slide Rock. There's a section of the creek where the water has worn a smooth chute right down the middle. It's a cold, wet ride of nature provided fun. We would sit at the top, ride the chute, then run back up to the beginning and do it again, over and over all day long. Most times we had the place all to ourselves. That should tell you how long ago that was. Beautiful video. Have just discovered your channel and am going to spend this Black Friday watching many more. Thanks!
Stayed at that resort just north of the state park this past September. Hiked down to the creek and up one of the mountain. And sat on my balcony just soaking in the mountains and sunshine. Love it!
🙋♀️Hello Russ! It sure was a Kodak picture perfect shot as you ascended with the camera showing the beautiful blue sky, the colorful red brown layers in the rock mountain, & those beautiful green trees. Just beautiful!
Enjoyed this video, just like all the others. When you went to Slide Rock, it reminded me of visiting my Aunts, in August of the year, in Asheville, N.C. Somewhere, around the Asheville area, is a place called ( Sliding Rock), where you can Slide down the Rock, into a pool of water. In August, water was extremely COLFD. My 10 year old daughter loved it. Dad ( me ) at about 49, at the time, couldn't hang. I don't believe that now, at 72, I definitely don't want to brave, that super cold water, even in hot months.
Great trip Russ, here in Idaho we have Fall going full bore and I've been racking leaves for two weeks. Travel through Sedona is another trip on my bucket list so thank you!!!
Hello Russ, Wow !! One gorgeous Canyon , yeah an you found Fall Color.... We thought since there were no videos. you may have gotten held up in Flagstaff in the freak snow storm. Stay safe can't wait for the next video. Thank you so much Russ great job. Larry&Linda
Hi Russ. I'm finding your videos wonderfully enjoyable. As I mentioned in the previous video, I was in Sedona heading north in 1993, 27 years ago. I was looking for a motel to stay in at Sedona but everything was booked out or too expensive. So I continued up to Flagstaff. This video of yours is very enjoyable to watch as it was late evening when I drove up through this canyon. That means I missed all the spectacular sights on this drive. Thank you so much for doing this video. It's greatly appreciated.
The very last shot coming down in the parking lot looking back on the area was the best view of all the colors combined with the pavilion, just says come sit & enjoy the splendor all around you!
I love this area, I've hiked up that creek under that bridge in 2012. Previously took advantage of the cool water in Slide Rock State Park, busy but great fun during holidays in 1994. The route North on 89a up the canyon is beautiful and dramatic. Flagstaff elevation is 7000 ft ! Oldtimer Englishman from Shropshire reminiscing.
Heading there is 2 1/2 weeks. Doing an 11 day, Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, Durango, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Sedona, Scottsdale trip. Flying into Montrose and out of Sky Harbor. You look at that beautiful golden yellow tree and the rest of the scenery and you know that God is quite the artist.
Yay Russ , Road trip. We Love RVerTV , Grand Music , Grand Videos , Grand Journey thru United States America. Russ Too Cool 4 School . Thank you Russ for RVerTV . Happy Trails - United States America - Russ - RVerTV Fans. Stay Calm Watch RVerTV - Best TV On TH-cam.
Wow, what a beautiful road! Thanks so much, Russ! I've never seen anywhere in AZ so green! It's almost like the northern part of California, except with cheaper gas. Hey, you know what I'd like to see? I'd like to see that road with a layer of snow on it. Maybe you can't do that, but think how beautiful it'd be! AND some drone footage. That would be cool! (I mean, it'd be FREEZING! But cool also.)
I'm pretty sure I drove back to Flagstaff from Sedona on 89 cuz that was the only choice. How come I did not see the state park and all those goodies that you put up here? I do remember though stopping by a tribal market and seeing lots of caves/ruins on the other side of the canyon wall.
Russ, wanted to let you know that we enjoy watching RVerTV and your travels. But (and there always seems to be a but), when you are driving the picture seems to be blurry. It is that way both on the TV and I checked using the LAPTOP. That said, when you were at the Orchard walking around using a different camera, things were crystal clear.
Did I hear you say you didn't know the name of the river down at the bottom of the canyon. The bottom of Oak Creek Canyon? It's the same one that runs through the Village of Oak Creek. I know it's been a long season and I loved your virtual vacation 2020, but maybe it's time for a little R&R.

Yay ! ! Fall colors!! Thx Russ!! Thumbs ☝
Loved that drive on my motorcycle two years ago Thanksgiving up to the overlook and back
Best time of year to enjoy this area ..
The very last shot coming down in the parking lot looking back on the area was the best view of all the colors combined with the pavilion, just says come sit & enjoy the splendor all around you!
NE fall color is gone. Hits freezing overnight here. Slept most of evening up in SW PA. South AZ is my dream retirement place.

Thanks for the ride. It's been almost 35 years since I was last on the drive. Things have changed a bit.....
Did that drive in the 70s in the fall one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.
Lots of fun to slide down the water slide at Slide Rock!!
years ago used to camp on the river and it was great trout fishing
Hi Russ ! Nice Drive with the fall colors.. We love taking this drive. Stay Happy and Safe..
Sedona doesn't get nearly as much snow as Flagstaff. Pretty mild winters keep the snow to a minimum.
Gotta love the big AZ
yes time to detect !!
Thank you for the video. This is my favorite road in the US.
Just beautiful. Thanks Russ
Beautiful video! I hit the like button so fast. Flagstaff is actually at 6,909’ ~7,000+ if you go up towards the Snowbowl area. 😀

That was one pretty ride 🏜----🚐---🍂🍁
My son and I climbed lots of the cliffs, it's a great time.
Such a beautiful fall drive!! Thanks. 😊👍
Really nice trees to look at.
Very nice tour. Thank you, Russ !!!
You need to take longer walks. Way more to see in sedona and slide rock. Longer walks will do you wonders 💯👍
Stunning view Russ. Thank you for these videos. We hope to come back as soon as to Usa. Best wishes. Gianluca from Itay
I'm partial to the desert but that area was gorgeous. Thanks for the ride.
Imagine the real estate value on the property if it were up for market. Beautiful! Whoever lived there knew what was up😎❤ thanks for the vlog
Thank you Russ. I have never been to Sadona. The rode up the canyon was stich different, much like the Havasu AZ. The fall colors were beautiful.
Another great video, although our fall leaves are long gone here
Very nice views... thanks for sharing.
Flagstaff my hometown.
Was on that same road in sept. Ran across tribe vendors on the left.

Actually, it wouldn't be freezing at all even with the snow.
Awesome 👍🏻🍁🍂🌾
Arizona state should thanks to Russ. I never expect to see Beautiful slide rock drone view.

Did anybody else see on the side of mountain, a mans face with mouth wide open at 17:10, I can clearly see his two eyes, nose, mouth. Amazing.
Epic!
THANKS
👍fall colors
When we lived in Flagstaff during the 70's we used to go to slide rock all the time for no charge. If white eyes can make a buck, I guess they will.
they ruined this place
My late husband and I honeymooned up there and camped outside of Flagstaff after being married in Congress, Arizona.
🍁Beautiful🍁
With those cars cramming the road, Russ, I don't think there'll be a fish left down there...!!
Theys gold in them thar hills !!
I wished u would have filmed going up the switchbacks. Lively drive down
Name of the river is Oak Creek.
I thought it was the Flagstaff fiord
thank you
Used to be Aero Flinn's Property back in the old's days of black and white movies.... Lots of wild party's there......
Nice i came across your channel
That place where all the car on side of the road is where people go swimming in the first scaling rocks.
U missed the best part Russ 😢 upstream views from swimming area and all of the smooth rock formations there !!
What month was this Russ?
On a hot day, the water is a bit busy, and quite cold.
I'd have stopped and asked on of those folks why all the cars along the road...
They need to add some more pull offs.
👍👍😊

Could it have been a fish ruy
