    OMG - this tutorial is ESSENTIAL - especially if you're following an old Houdini tutorial that uses copy stamping!

    Thanks for this. Interesting.
    Isn't storing attribute first on the point before copying better than going through an for each loop?
    I'm a bit confused now.
    Say you want to rotate the cubes randomly like you did. I was under the impression that randomizing the orient attribute would the most straightforward method. What's the benefit of adding the loop?

      @rohandalvi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made the mistake of using rotation as an example. It's not specifically for rotation. It's for parameter randomization. For example if you want to modify the seed value of a mountain sop on a per point basis. Or the bend value on a per point basis. Anything other than basic rotation and scale randomization.

    Hi Rohan. I'm following along an old tutorial but got stuck because he uses Copy Stamp node. He put an expression in the Uniform Scale parameter on CopyStamp node. Something like fit($CY, 0 $NCY, 0, 1). Question is how to recreate it? Got stump on the $CY and $NCY variables.

      Which one are you following so I can recreate it in 19.5

    I think copy stamp is faster.. i tried copying 1000 cubes with transferring rotation value with attribute transfer.. i noticed copysatmp is faster then for-each loop

    • @rohandalvi
      @rohandalvi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      which version are you on because for me for each is faster in H 18.0.348
      Also, because the houdini documentation says copy stamp is deprecated then it becomes problematic to use it. A lot of user just avoid it because the documentation says so.

      @@rohandalvi i m using 18.0.287 ... I did one test .. it seem copy stamp is fast then for each

      @@vikasSharma-qh9fe It's perfectly fine to use it. It's just good to know both techniques.

      @@rohandalvi i m fine to use both ... I just asked out of curiosity... As i was doing some rnd using copy stamp and there i feel copy stamp is slow and i was in need of more faster way to do that ... But still its slow...i will try this technique once again from scratch... Btw way thanks for this ... Its really new and amazing...
