Bought this unit a few years ago just to have a pro look whenever I DJ here in Vegas. Being that I don’t DJ often because my primary job is music production, years later I finally decided to find out everything I can about this unit. Thanks for the video, it really helps!
Congrats Rane, that's an amazing controller, probably the best ever. It's user serviceability (replacable parts) gives it its Pro legitimacy and makes it worth the hefty price. One feature I'd love to see though : the sound card sending DVS signal from the decks like the Twelve Mk2s do,, so that we can use it with other software than Serato, like Rekordbox or Traktor, along with some mapping. Would that be technically even possible to create this kind of signal generating and audio routing though ?

@@DekriteN09 Nope. If you ever used a Rane Mixer - or the Rane TWELVE before, you´ll see and feel a huge different to the Numark Stuff. Especially for scratch DJ´s which never get used to the plastic controllers! :) This is a heavy Flagship in my opinon!
@@djdensen754 I wouldn't call the NS7 controllers light, they are heavy and built like a tank, and NS7mk2 and mk3 are far better than Rane One in terms of functionality, motorized platters on NS7s are pretty good. And by the way, both Rane and Numark are belong to one company called InMusic, and the Twelves were released after Rane was acquired by InMusic, so I am pretty sure they probably gave Numark's technology to Rane to create the Twelves. In other words, what we see here is an attempt to sell old stuff in new packedge. Rane mixers are excellent but this thing is.. kinda disappointment.

Numark need to remake the original ns7 in this style of two channel controller with the pitch fader on the left deck on the outside. That don't right on this controller, with your left hand over the fader when using the left volume fader.
Could I use the Rane One as main Serato device and hook up my Rane Sixty-One for additional midi mapping? Like, having a fretless fader in the Rane Sixty-One using Serato Pitch 'N Time. If so, is it possible to midi-map multiple knobs to the same function like the crossfader on both the Rane One and Sixty-One?
I don't really agree, I mean if you guys want giant controllers, why don't you just get a mixer and a couple of decks/turntables ? Controllers are about portability, even 4 channel controllers should be no bigger than this IMHO.
The RANE ONE is a 2 channel, 2 deck controller, so you cannot use virtual decks. However, you can use the Sampler in Serato as sort of a 3rd deck, just make sure instant doubles is on, then just drag your currently playing track to a Sampler slot in Serato. It will keep playing from the same point and you can mix in 2 more tracks on the channels.
I am wondering about the mixer performance. Most controllers in the market have horrible sound and we need to add an external mixer to make the controller sound better, what is the situation with this controller? Does it have a high end mixer?

I have a Numark NS7ii and I now prefer the smaller platters over 12" platters. The smaller platters just feel more responsive and the increased torque is better for scratching in my opinion.
How about the internals? One downfall of the Numark NS7 is the internals. Taking it apart to clean or "fix" is a pain in the ass. Dirt will accumulate in the channel and cross faders. So these need to be easily accessed.
The faders can be accessed by removing four screws from the fader plate. Very easy to get to! There's even a notch so that you can adjust the crossfader tension screw without removing it from the unit.
Numark, Rane, Denon, Akai are all owned by the same company now so this is basically the ns7 rebranded with a Rane twist on it. Im pretty stoked but hoping for a 4 channel
this is dope! Now Rane should build some 7inch turntables based of these for us 45 jugglers, like the mini 1200's Biz Markie uses!

The ONE was built to be a professional DJ controller with sound quality to match. The sound specs are close to those of the SEVENTY-TWO MKII.

There is one problem! No volume control for sampler level
You can midi map it to a knob that you don't intend on using. For example, the Booth output knob would work well.
You can control the volume inside Serato makes more precise!
