I'll respectfully disagree with that, David definitely had a unique approach to lyrics, but the music really grooved because of Jerry, Chris and Tina. If David were such a huge talent, why hasn't his solo music ever been as successful as the Talking Heads? And why were Chris and Tina able to create more legendary, popular, and influential music as Tom Tom Club? I think their respective success speaks for itself.
Homie, as much as David was a pioneer, Talking Heads was praised for their *SOUND*, how can that be so when David is just vocalizing? The band played off each other well.

The HOF is a joke and they extort lots of money from the artists being inducted, but they give those side men and women one last shot at the spotlight. Band leaders (usually the singer songwriters) never want to do these things because they're still working hard making new music. But they often participate because it's the last chance in the spotlight for the rest of the band members. It's telling that Tina is the one jabbering on and on for 7 of the 10 minutes in this video.
Tina associates herself as a large black man? There are some things that just need not be shared at an award ceremony, like airing out your dementia. She's a great female bass player pioneer, but please leave the alcohol alone.
