Those of you who are slamming this guy for promoting his products in the video...puhhleease! He's not making these videos out of the goodness of his heart. This is a business. If he can promote his own products while sharing some info with the public, then everyone wins! It's business!
I did a 3 color in red, white, and blue over about a 3/4" -7/8" marble. I hid the cord welds under adjacent layers. It took a little experimentation to do it, but it turned out great. I have a keyring on an adjustable "hangman's noose" on the other end. The whole thing is about 10" long but I can shorten it to about 3".
Interesting video. I don't think I have the patience to make this. But kudos to you, Kevin, for having the patience & knowhow to make these paracord monkey's fist keychains. Last week, I was shopping at Wal-Mart & they were selling Paracord survival bracelets & some Monkey's fist paracord keychains. (cont.)
When joining 2 pieces together, it actually makes a stronger joint, or "weld", if you flush-cut the cords, along with the inner string, and melt it all, THEN fuses the 2 together. Then cores of the cords are attached together, as well.
So I started falling asleep during this and my headphones were in. When you started talking in fast motion it SCARED THE CRAP out of me. I thought there was like a weird creature in my room for like 5 seconds. Oh and seriously NO OFFENCE to the video because it's really great it's just 3:00 in the morning where I live and I can't fall asleep so I was watching cool videos... Yeah anyway...
Hi Kevin, I am trying to make a monkey's fist with a 3/4" steel ball and I got the fist knot coming out of the fist itself (I believe it is a lanyard knot?) but it is only one pass. Do I need to do 2 passes through that knot? Also, since I am trying to use 2 different colors, I am getting confused on the round braid. (Which piece goes around which rope) Do you have any videos that show the entire processwhere you used 2 different colors from the beginning of the monkey's fist to completon?
Ya entendi el procedimiento pero no explicas como sacarlo de ahi y las medidas del teblero para la realizacion del puño de mono aun asi es un gran trabajo gracias por compartirlo .
Kevin, love your videos, but you seem to push your products pretty hard. I remember you showing how to make the jigs and I was impressed then that you were more about helping than selling.
But I think yours look like better quality than the ones Wal-Mart is selling. At the City Museum in St. Louis they were also selling Paracord bracelets & I bought some for friends & me, but I like the 1 my cousin made me from Thailand that I'm wearing right now. Thanks again for your video.
Where can I buy the Para cord for a great price or a bundle price? My sister in-law show me how to do it and I want to continue to do so Pleas hit me back up sir and Thank you for the video
It depends on the size of your ball bearing. What I figured out is a small glass marble wrapped around x4 uses about 1ft 10 inches per side (which would totals about 5ft 6 inches, this does not include paracord for making a handle, lead, or lanyard). A golf ball wrapped around x8 using about 5ft of paracord per side (which totals to about 15 feet not including handle, lead, lanyard, etc). once you factor in the additional length for the rest of the monkeys fist give yourself 2 - 3 to extra. always! I learned that the hard way. Hope that helps.
Hi kevin. i really want to thank you for posting this tutorial. NOW IM READY FOR THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!!! jk. but thanks for posting the awesome tutorial!!!!!
At the 5:09 minute mark on the video its pink for the ladies matching purse and jacket? Do you put that keychain in your purse? Or hold it in your hand while walking?

Just ordered a fid and jig :), Your videos have helped me so much that I feel you deserve some sort of support.
how did you get the holes drilled in the jig as I have several granite pieces to make one

Sounds nice, can you attach or send a picture of your 3 color one? Thanks

Great video. I would also like to know how to tie the diamond knot with loop on the monkey fist
When joining 2 pieces together, it actually makes a stronger joint, or "weld", if you flush-cut the cords, along with the inner string, and melt it all, THEN fuses the 2 together. Then cores of the cords are attached together, as well.
Wow! Out of all the videos I watched your video was the easiest and made the most sense when making a two tone monkey's fist!
I make them all the time but I can only find 3/8” ball for a sling shot. Where can I get 1/2 up to 1” I e looked everywhere. Thks.
Just wanted to say thanks Kevin my Para cord jig works out like a champion
Hermosoo!!!gracias por compartirlo saludos desde Argentina.
Cool video! I like your adjustable jig. I don't have time to watch the entire thing right now but I'll be sure to later.
At any sporting goods store, I primarily use BladeHQ, they have reasonable prices and VERY fast shipping.
Love your vids. Could you make a video of the knot at the end of the handle. It looks flat and a great stop knot.

Could you show a video on how to connect that with the knot on top and how to make the loop as well?
any chance of a video on the other braid/knots that is on the keychain?
At the 10:15 min mark he in hailed a big gulp of helium and drank a Red Bull.
does the jig come with rods that you put the ball in or you need to buy them seperatly
Never tried this before but you make me want to - thank you! :-)
What length of paracord did u use for each color?

Ya entendi el procedimiento pero no explicas como sacarlo de ahi y las medidas del teblero para la realizacion del puño de mono aun asi es un gran trabajo gracias por compartirlo .
Where can I get the ball bearings? I'd prefer to not have to buy a pack of 100 or something like I've been finding on the internet.

Cool I didn't even finish watching
As far the ball ?
Thanks for the info.
did Alvin the chipmunk invade the video with voice over
