Thank you for posting all of thee helpful videos. You are my "go to" guy for the monkey fists. I have made a few of the self defense versions and people are loving them. My next project is the paracord bola. You're a genius.
Love all your designs and vid's. My daughter loves her monkey's fist key ring because it never gets lost in her handbag she said don't think of it as a weapon, rather as an emergency window breaker if trapped in the car etc. A sharp rap will do it. bye
Is it absolutely necessary to use a core to get decent results? If you want to keep it as light as possible, would using something like a kid's superball be acceptable?
Thanks! Yeah, it's ALMOST even all the way around, but not quite. And due to family events, I had to stay up all day after working night shift. So I didn't have the patience to do any decorative knots or the four strand rope braid; used a two color snake weave with a third strand weaved along its run. My wife was like, "Great, not you've made a deadly weapon. Now what?" ....lmao
I'm trying to do this project on a golf ball. And I'm having problems on the tightening stage. I've gone up to 8 passes and when I start the tightening process it gets lopsided. Any tips or suggestions you could give me.
+Jeremy Norton (SyndicateSX) I did this on a golf ball, and in the tightening stage, just be patient take your time and follow the cord. Mine turned out awesome and it was my FIRST one...
it would be a fun idea to make as a present for my coach so i was curious if you could modify the monkey fist stitch to make it look like a water polo ball?

You're certainly welcome.
Great how to, you are going the perfect speed to keep up with! The jig would make it easier for multiples and consistency.

Great vids, is there a third in this series coming? Just for the novices like me.
Did you ever make a video to show how to finalize it so it can be a keychain fob, you said you would in the first video but never saw it?

+Jeremy Norton (SyndicateSX) i did it on a golf ball twice. I used 9 passes it worked well. be patient and keep trying.
+Jeremy Norton (SyndicateSX) also only pull a little at a time. If you pull to much it gets messed up.
