    So fun fact in that Brazil alliance, Emperor Pedro I of Brazil was actually one of the candidates to the Greek throne after the war of independence. The greeks had no say on the choice tho, only the great powers of Europe and Brazil had a good relation with Britain. They eventually chose the second son of the Bavarian king but the ideia of a Brazilian-greek empire gotta be one of the strangest personal unions of history lmao

      Only second to the Brazilian-French empire if the house of Orleans still was in power, since the Brazilian crown princess was married to the French Orleansist pretender.

    I think EU4 has conditioned me to not want to be protectorate but damn, joined France as a protectorate as Papal States and easily formed Kingdom of Heaven (Italy when formed by pope I guess?) x) The huge French market also allowed me to rush for colonialism without issues and managed to grab a huge chunk of the colonial land across the globe! Point is becoming a protectorate as a weaker nation is not at all a bad thing should NOT be underestimated!

    In a run I did with Austria/Germany I got to be #1 Great Power and had this "fearful" problem too, but I notice that if you don't move your armies to the fronts until the very end, there is a chance that your enemies would actually want to fight you. But I only got to test this in overseas wars, so there is a chance it might not work with border wars. Also in overseas wars if you manage to start the war, is very probable that your armies won't make it on time to defend the frontlines so there are some risk on doing that.

    Something you can try if you haven't already.
    Enact the colonial resettlement instead of the colonial exploitation. That gives 100% migration attraction to unincoorporated states.
    So if you use greener grass campaign in a non core state you get 200% migration attraction. Which i pretty op (trust me.)

    • @scorpioneldar
      @scorpioneldar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      this is a pretty bad move. your colonies having higher attraction than your homeland just means all your people leave for land you don't get to tax them in. you want people to move to your home states. not your colonies.

    Awesome how this game acknowledges the Greek population that was still around while EU4 ignores it and makes it all Turkish. It's not like the Nationalism CB would be that useful since you already have a Reconquest one and the culture of the locals was something that the Ottomans had to deal with so it makes just one less problem for them. Since the game wants the Otto guys to be a starter nation, that would be a good time to learn about having other cultures in your country and how to deal with it. I get that the culture system is different in EU4 and that a province is usually just labeled as whatever the majority is but there were places that were still majority Greek (especially the islands in the area). Of course Zoroastrianism gets this treatment too, but they still leave in the holy site in India with nothing but Sunni and Hindu in the area. Maybe just another case of being unable to show a minority. I guess the point I'm driving at is that Victoria has a slightly better culture mapping system than EU4, not that this takes away from EU4 too much but it's still something to note when using RTS games to learn your history, like I tend to do these days (despite knowing that half of it is doctored for game design reasons). History as according to RTS games can be weird before you even hit play.

      @@legitplayin6977 straight to the facts - social-liberal I would say. It really depends on your own values and your social-cultural environment and your geographical standpoint (like literally). I am Austrian with Slovenian/Italian ancestry and was brought up in a humanistic household with mostly University-educated people in my family but my friends were from families who didn't value education that much and often were involved in criminal activities. I was a spoiled kid who hang out with the "troubled" kids, if you want. It's also hard to describe without writing an essay about the political, social, cultural, religious and scientific development of humans over the last couple hundred, maybe thousand years. I would consider myself politically liberal and economically social. Most people in my country would say I am almost extremly left wing. Austria went hard right politically speaking during the last 2 decades though, like most european countries. May I mention, we all (should) know how well it works out for Europe, if right wing people in Austria get too much "clout". It's not too long ago, that some little, addicted, frightened moron with a funny beard from Braunau got real popular in Germany, which set events in cause, that were less than beneficiary to say the least.

    Where do the people migarting to the country come from? My guess is they come from the lands to conquer... and are ethnic greeks.
    Second question: if greek has homelands i think they do not assimilate into turkish contrary to what he said in the beginning of the video.

    I dont understand why you cant force war, like, it feels as if they tried to make expansion slow so you would focus on the econ game but the AI is so bad that you have to conquer land because they wont build up strategic resources.

    Regarding japanese colonization - you can't even mod colony growth if they're adjacent. Everything is based on population - hence why you see the USA with a third of africa by 1860 or GB controlling nearly all of central/southern africa by 1860. Irks me as there wasnt any push to colonize africa until the 1870s and 1880s. Or trying to colonize africa with an african nation and being bitch slapped by malaria (compared to euro countries that can ignore it at nearly the start of the game)
    I feel like there was next to no testing when it comes to colonization ;/

    I would like to see you play Central America. That shit its impossible. You don't even have Logging Camps. The country is dividing and its probably just 1 year before the first Central American Nation secedes.

    Groceries are not needed if you want to produce food build farms. Food industries provide luxury food, and they consume basic food to do so, so they are inneficient if your goal is to feed your population

    I honestly think that 5 years truce in a game that runs 100 years is just too long. That is equivalent to a 20-year truce in EUIV.
