Great and a very important video. This has been one of the most confusing thing in Tennis. When you ask the coaches they say have a loose grip. But as mentioned the video, there is less stability during contact. This is such a valuable lesson

Kata is my favorite tennis online instructor lots of informative videos . I have problem with my front lead arm . I don't get it out of the way and end up wrapping it around myself on the follow thru. Plus when I do it drops to my side instead of staying up and looking like its waving like Djokavic or Federer. Plus I don't always do my unit turn when I'm rushed any good tips or videos on how to correct this ? Maybe coming up?
Make sense. If you look at pro’s contract images, you can see their forearm muscles clearly. It’s an indication that arm, wrist loose is not the case as some other coaches suggested.

i being a guy would wear personally longer shorts cause my legs aren't as pretty as all the babes that play on the WTA LOL !
More important than grip tightness, I think, is correct body weight behind the ball, feel like the palm of the hand is bracing the grip at ball contact.
I heard about this idea many times. But, do you have any advice on how to practice to squeeze tight at the point of contact?
same here! How to squeeze the racket tight at contact with a loose arm and wrist? Easier said and done....some coaches have to figure out a training advice on this idea...😅
its like disconnect brain from muscle, not so easy, yeah for that the left hand take the weight of racket, for decontract relax the right
On a scale of one to 10 ...ten being the tightest and one being the most loose what number# do you recommend?
Listen to the video again my friend! The firmness changes as you swing. In other words, you are not holding the grip w/ the same firmness throughout the swing. It's loose when you are in the "preparation" phase and firm when contacting the ball.
Definitely a ten for tightness😉

no tight not too loose but slightly firm at contact
