I made this today for a dinner party and it was soo good. Everyone said they LOVED it and this was my first time makeing an Alfredo sauce so I was pretty nervous. Here's a tip: After you add the cream to the butter, the sauce might look like it's falling apart, its not. Keep simmering it untill the butter mixes fully into the cream and then once it thickens, add you cheese by handfuls untill your out of cheese. The sauce was perfect 🫶

I am so proud of you for acknowledging the original recipe for the Alfredo. Telling the American side of the story makes it even sweeter. Btw, I'm not Italian, but I love the original story.

Thank you, John, for another delicious looking dinner. I have a story about Alfredo's in Rome you might enjoy. My parents went to Europe in 1956 with a group. Their trip included dinner at Alfredo's in Rome. Alfredo, himself, came to their table and mixed the pasta with the sauce at the table. I'm not sure how many were in their group, but it was probably a dozen or so. After mixing the pasta, Alfredo served my mom first. She was delighted, of course, but assumed he'd just picked her at random. She later heard that Alfredo always served either the prettiest or the oldest woman at the table. My mom said she was def not the oldest (she was 37).

I made this last night. It turned out really good! I liked that there weren't a lot of ingredients involved to make the sauce. That's one of the biggest things that throws me off making a dish, when there are a million things you need to add. I didn't add the chicken cuz I'm not really a fan but it turned out great regardless! I've got a ton of leftovers cuz I made extra and will enjoy eating this for the next few days. Thank you for the always awesome recipes and for all the cooking advice you give and for explaining them. I really love that part of your videos the most, the fact that I'm genuinely learning something, not just making a dish!

My grandmother was Calabrian, my grandfather was Tuscan. He died long before I was born so I never had any Tuscan influence in my life Hence I don’t have any experience with northern Italian cooking This seems to be a much better way of making Fettuccini Alfredo than any other recipes I’ve made. I could almost smell and taste it as you were making it. This video is being saved so I can give it a “twirl! (Not sorry for the pun). 😊. Thank you, Preppy John! Dinner, Italian food, and a love story! A nice crisp dry white wine and it becomes perfection!! ❤

Just made this tonight, the Alfredo is super good!
Add lots of garlic like the recipe and cheese to make it thick.

You mentioned cooking with propane being hot. We have a house in Mexico and cook with propane. There is a flow restricter that you put in the gas stove to reduce the heat. But so far we haven't been able to reduce the heat enough. Even on the lowest setting things burn. So we got a metal platform to put the pan on above the flame to reduce the heat more.

That looks so good. I love Chicken Alfredo but was certain it would be too complicated for average cooks like me. It's great to see that it's fairly simple to make. I can't wait to try this.
By the way, thanks for your consistent demonstrations of hand hygiene, and not just when you've handled raw meat. I'm constantly shocked by the number of people - some of whom are supposedly professional cooks - who not only never seem to wash their hands when doing cooking demonstrations, but who also have been known to pet the dog and play with their hair while cooking!
Watching them, I feel grossed out just like Jerry in that Seinfeld episode where he refused to eat the food of the chef who never washed his hands after going to the restroom.
But I'd eat your food any day.
    😉

    "No less than 3 Cloves"
"Okay Im gonna go with 8 cloves"
"I went with a conservative 9 cloves of garlic"
Totally relatable, you can never have too much Garlic

Absolutely loved this recipe. Super easy to follow! I made a small alteration by switching parma cheese with grated gouda, but it still worked perfectly. Thanks so much, John!

This turned out delicious. I have made chicken alfredo before maybe two or three times but my sauce has never turned out this perfect. This is a recipe that I am keeping and calling it my own. Lol, thank you so much. I will be making Chicken Alfredo more often for sure.

I'm obsessed with Italian cuisine. Fettuccine is my favorite pasta, and this dish has been my go-to meal since I moved into my apartment alone. Truly a comfort meal 😍 Thanks for the video!!

John, I always use the original sauce, butter and cheese only. I get imported cheeses at my local Italian Deli in Scottsdale and use Kerigold Butter. Awesome!

Yes! This is my favorite pasta.🥰😍🤤😋💕 I love to put a ton of cheese in everything with spinach or broccoli. I never made it before my mom buy the frozen dinner trays, but I would try to make this.💯💯👏👏👏
