At first I thought "why not just bombard the planetary defenses?" Then I realized the lengths they are willing to go in order to reduce civilian deaths. Taking the high road is never easy.

win hearts and all that , superficial as some may think of it when sitting on a high armoured horse
but as both sun zu , gustavus and other great generals known its worth is priceless to win wars rather then churn in endless battles and to be honest the recent events in response to the current super nations imperial actions reinforced that lesson , if you dont win hearts , you can win a thousand battles and yet never win the war as the moment you turn your back new fighters rises from the civilian masses loathing you , or even worse , growing numbers of the 'victorious' ranks growing disgusted enough to defect

this is funny. the sellians were powerful enough to stop the union and now the terrans are will smithing the sellians like their amateurs. if the union ends up being a hard fight for the terrans I'm am going to be really confused
