    Cool video man, I have been waiting so see someone install these. I have had had my eye on a set of these in anticipation of the HKS coilovers coming out for the VB. Just subscribed.

    With less camber in the rear it effectively gives you more tire patch to ride on. With the larger tire patch it gives you more compliance and spring out of the tire. I.E. better ride.

    Are those KW from the previous gen WRX? I haven’t seen any drop on their website specifically for the VB chassis.

    You’re missing the silver slot holders for the suspension on the control arm. There are 2 tabs per side that go on the front and back to align the bolts.

  • @trnql_noir

    Not too sure if you have them because of the cuts in the video, but where your coilover bolts into the cusco arm (you called them slots) there typically should be a metal piece inserts which ensures the coilover bolt stays in one place and does not slide. These metal pieces look almost like the things you pop open soda cans with. They come with the LCA's. Good luck and hope that helps

    • @Hapawerks
      @Hapawerks  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definiteley missing them. It's not critical, but sure would have helped aligning the coilovers evenly.

    • @K03sport
      @K03sport 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ... umm, if not crucial, why would Cusco include them with the arms (yours were missing or you overlooked them when unvoxing)?? In your case, I would contact the Vendor or try to source those parts to ensure the lower bolts don't move...

    The thing about having like a metal front splitter is you risk ripping off your bumper instead of just scraping as you would do with a front lip. I’d rather replace a lip than an entire bumper. Just a thought & cheers from Australia.

    you should tighten those control arm bolts when your car on the ground at neutral position not when they are at fully extended position. Those bushings are twisted at 9:10.

    Only need LCA's if you're going real low. Plus, it's hard on your axles when making big power. Like they snap.

    it's not necessarily the STi Subaru doesn't want you to have, but more like the STi you can build with the parts you want at a pace conformable to you. And you're not hamstrung by mediocre, overpriced STI branded components from Subaru...

    Whats the purpose of rear control arms?

    • @Hapawerks
      @Hapawerks  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Control arms in general are a pivot point for your suspension, upgraded control arms, either replace soft rubber bushings with harder polyurethane bushings, or sphericals to eliminate slop. They also provide adjustment for camber where there previously wasnt any or very little.

    I don't know what's up with Cusco in the past like couple years but they're construction of their components are terrible The welds look like they've been done by a 12-year-old. You didn't load the control arms before tightening the bolts.

    • @Hapawerks
      @Hapawerks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for calling it out! They were loosened and retightened during the allignment. You're right, I've seen better welds. I'm sure it may have something to do with their supplier/QC

    It must be nice to have unlimited funds to do all of this stuff.
    I really thought this car was gonna be more fun to drive but in its stock form it’s super boring. Big mistake trading my 21 Mustang GT for this. I mean hell a stock EcoBoost would be more fun to drive than the WRX.

    • @Hapawerks
      @Hapawerks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would be super nice. Unfortunately I am not one of those people and have had to learn how to install my own parts to save on labor! Sorry to hear you regret your purchase. The WRX is far more composed and safe, this also takes from the perceived "Fun factor"
      Might I suggest you take the WRX up into the snow or onto some fire roads? You will be able to do far more than any of the vehicles you mentioned there!

    • @erdinczor1
      @erdinczor1 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be fair, most people don't buy WRX or STI and keep them stock

    • @truckinguy92
      @truckinguy92 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erdinczor1 once again, I don’t have it like that where I have unlimited funds to tune a car. Not only that but you lose your warranty once you change anything in the computer. If something happens to the engine and it blows you’re on the hook for it not Subaru. Car manufacturers will do anything to weasel their way out of a warranty claim.
