    I have a zagg screen protector for my note 8 and tell same case for it never had a issue. Except for the clip if you have it on and the phone is not in it and you bend over or move a certain way you can break off a corner. But otterbox tool care of me

      I have a note 9 and I got defender with plastic and it bubbled so got a zagg glass screen protector and a otterbox commuter. Im hating the commuter as screen is still vulnerable. If I went and exchanged for the defender again would it work with the zagg glass screen protector? Also the stores wont let me return screen prottectors so Ill buy th otterbox screen protector as last resort. I just mainly want the defender

    We are bringing on the heavy hitters on the cases now. That's what I call maximum protection. I seem to prefer the more slimmed down cases that I would be able to fit in my front pocket.

    Been using Otter Box Defender cases since the Blackberry 8300 and they have never failed me. I work in construction and sometimes my phone does take a fall. And so far the OB case has protected it. Using the Galaxy s6 now and after 3 years it still looks like new because of this case.

    I have just changes from the note 8 to 9.The defender destroyed 2 screens. on my note 8.My wife bought a new one again by mistake.its in the bin.It wasn't the edges damaged either..it was inside and under the case,from waist height drop.Again did you see the problem..you have just enclosed a glass phone...in hard plastic.Outer silicone takes the shock and passes into the plastic.. into your phone.Notice there is no height given on the box.i had to go the site to find out.. or maybe I missed it.I explained what happened.Their solution..buy one of our glass screen protectors,that don't go inside the phone.Bravo.

    Had one for my S4. Will be getting one for my Note 9 which I've had for exactly a week.
    You should get a Whitestone Dome Tempered Glass kit and see if you can still use the Defender case.
    Only problem with the case design is over time (years) the rubber PWR button will make your phone's PWR button sift and might require servicing. Happened on my S4. After 5 years though. Rather have an exposed PWR button.

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anderson , the screen protector I have on the video is actually a whitestone Dome. It is very tight fit , I ended up removing it because it was barely touching the bottom part. I think you can get it to work, but will require a very precise installation. As I mentioned the top had a little extra space which would had helped if I could scoot the glass up a little

    The case should be like the otter box cases for the motorola g7 power so the rubber outer layer isn't covering to pieces of plastic I had a case like that for my old ZTE MAX PRO.
    the the screen broke when I dropped the phone facedown.
    And I believe it was partially because of the fact that despite the fact that the outer layer was rubber,
    There is no rubber protecting the phone from the inside front where the faceplate is.

    Is this "Defender Series Pro for Galaxy Note 9" better as a Love Mei case?
    The Love mei case is made of metal that is held together with screws, but without a screen protector.
    This case does not have an internal shock absorber frame like the Love Mei case?
    It ist not waterproof?
    It does not have its own protective glass (case for Samsung Note 9)?
    I'm looking for the best full ruggedized case for the Note 9. Like a Panasonic Toughbook CF-31.

  • @AmbientShades

    The 'defender' did not protect my note 9. The edge of the phone is completely unprotected. Maybe if you drop it straight down, fine. But let it slip out of your hand at work and hit the edge of something - like mine did - and the phone is toast. I've had this case since day one and never dropped my phone until tonight. Now I need a new phone. First and last otterbox I'll be buying.

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear! You are not alone, several people have mentioned the same over the years. There is not a case that will protect a phone 100% if any of it is exposed. I had people mention same issue as you and other where the camera glass broke aswell.

  • @AGC828
    @AGC828 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't think Otterbox is providing a screen protector any longer. That and the one they used to include isn't too good. As there is no adhesive behind the Otterbox screen protector ( I had one fro my Samsung S4). Though, it still worked...touch sensitivity wise. My only gripe was the power button was too loose and over time the phone's power button got loose...wiggled around too much...which might have been the fault of the phone design/engineering...the Note 9's power button is different. Less likely to wiggle side to side. Should last longer. Then again I had my S4 for over 5 years...Don't see myself using my Note 9 that long...
    Today the best tempered glass screen protector is the Whitestone Dome...but expensive @ $60 CDN...costing more than many cases...should be priced between $20--$30 CDN....Has any one used the Whitestone Dome protector and the Defender??

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep, I remember reading bad reviews about the Otterboc Screen protector. The screen protector I have in the video is a whitestone dome and is the best you can get . Sadly I noticed that it was not compatible with this model of otterbox as the glass was touching the edge of the case and it started peeling up the bottom part just a bit .

    What's the best screen protector you recommend for these because I had this exact case for my phone and it having the curved screen protector it always would pop the screen protector off or the screen protector wouldn't stay on because of the way the case was built

    • @MayitoTek
      @MayitoTek  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      honestly .. it really depends on the user and the luck . I mainly use a smaller profile case that only adds a little of protection. I never used a screen protector until I got one from a company to test . I have never broke a phone or scratched a screen . I had people mentioned that their screen broke after dropping the phone on this case

      as shown in the video , I was able to install the case while having the glass on . I don't recommended as I can see the case touching the glass, I removed my after a day and noticed the glass pilled off a little on the bottom edge. I would not risk messing up an expensive glass protector because of the case pushing on it .

    First off let me start by saying I love otter box cases.
    And I prefer bulky and durable to flimsy jokes!
    So I don't mind carrying a bulky case everywhere I go.
    But I already know how the clip broke on the guy mentioned in the video.
    I've had belt clip cases that double as kick stands they are great for carrying your phone on your belt and protecting the phone from drops.
    But you only get so many uses out of the belt clip as a kickstand before it either breaks or the plastic notch used to lock the belt clip in the kickstand position,
    Stops being malleable to bend it into the locking position.
    Also while I love a multi layered case for protection,
    I hate what they use a plastic from lipton lock the phone in the case
    The plastic outer layer should be snug enough to hold the inner rubber layer on the phone
    A plastic locking faceplate is destined to break eventually.
    The kickstand should be on the case itself for all phones.
    Because the belt clip doesn't give you any leaning angle
    And that type of belt clip isn't ideal as a kickstand.
    It's just asking to break your belt clip.

    • @nickseigmund7052
      @nickseigmund7052 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plastic outer lip not lipton.
      Those are known for being the first thing to break.
      On a case usually when you drop it face down which I seem to do quite frequently.
