Fun Wolfpack tactic: fire a MOSS at long range directly at the center of the group. Then watch the MOSS bring their torps back to them. Friendly fire fun.
If you want to mess with an Escort, fire a Harpoon in popup mode and then a sea-skimmer right behind the first. The CIWS will be too busy firing up to acquire the sea skimmer.
F key: cycle through torpedo tubes Shift+4: cut the wire on the torpedo that is currently selected. 4 key: arm the warhead on the torpedo Useful key binds
Series idea: use the typhoon class after this series is over. That would be a bit of a challenge considering how massive that boat is. Also I have yet to see you murder a whale in cold blood, might wanna fix that next time you see a whale
I wanna see him use the typhoon with this mod as well, curious what missions it would give him. Make missle strikes against nato lands? I have the game but no idea how to mod it... so not sure how this works.
SSBNs don't engage the enemy, their mission is to remain hidden, acting as a deterrent to other countries nuclear aggression. Although the Red October, with her silent propulsion drive, was designed as a first strike weapon 🙂
something I'd love them to add is a red line on the depth gauge for your test depth. Not for the player to use, but to make it more tense when you're below it. A constant reminder you're pushing your luck whenever your going super deep.
I love this series so much. I understand that there is only so many missions and you like other games too. But please keep pumping these out I love them!
Loving this series! looking forward to the next episode and maybe after you could try using a boomer? It would be interesting since they are much larger and some harbour creep and strikes would be cool. but if anything here's a tip: When changing torpedo courses the easiest thing is to select the tubes instead of struggling to click the tiny icons. Good luck and good hunting.
When dodging torpedos you can get them to lose you at one depth then go either directly above or below their turn in because they don’t have a great vertical search cone
I watch TH-cam every night when we go to bed, and my wife has often caught me smiling when I realize a new episode in this series is out. Keep up the amazing work!
I just few days ago had mission with same instructions... It was Kirov class battle cruiser with escort... NB, very fun 😉 final mission I had was like usually a boomer... Only I had 2 Delta IV subs to kill in 1 mission... It was something new... Usually ending is with 1 boomer+escort but I had 2 boomers+escort 🤔
My usual loadout is 4 TASMs, 2 Decoys and the rest MK48s. I only use the decoys in a situation where the reds have somehow gotten the drop on me, and I need to cool things down a bit. I only shoot TASMs at unarmed targets, once the escorts are sunk. Honestly, against surface ships it's not even fair... most times they don't even get a shot off.
Unrestricted conventional warfare, makes no sense. It's unrestricted warfare meaning able to sink anything. Conventional he has no guns... and would only targeting combat vessels... Unconventional would mean using nuclear or biological torpedoes, and weapons. Just asking what your meaning for clarification.

Thanks 👍🙏 Wolfy ...I wish you were operating in the Black Sea right now...you would be known as the Black Sea Ghost of the Ukraine... silence is golden...sail on Brother 💓💓.
I think the reason the Krivak didn’t counter-launch in response to that last torpedo was because it didn’t hear the launch transients. You were pretty close to a wreck when you fired it, so the sounds from the wreck probably covered up the sounds of the torpedo.
Stern chase against a long range target is the worst for a torpedo. I'd ignore the escorts and hit the merchant's with harpoons when the started running.
I hope the next cold water series is epic mod... I watched jive playing the newest version it's challenging as f***... Also waiting for the conclusion of the Soviet campaign (we all understand why you didn't finish it) ...
It would be really great to have a rundown of what each torpedo/munition does. I get what the Mark 48, moss and harpoons do but what are the other types of munition you can fire?
HiWolfpack! As much as i know TAsms are more effective against Merchants! And when you shoot a Torp close to the wreck of a ship, they shouldnt hear the launch nor "see" you!
Two questions: 1. Why Harpoons instead of TASMs? 2. Why shoot the missiles? They ALWAYS give away your position and you can always close up and get within Mk 48 range without it.
If youre attacking enemy capital ships maybe bring the bigger missiles. I forget the name but they aren't harpoons or TLAMS, I thought there was a bigger sub launched anti-ship missile.
after running at flank speed when avoiding an enemy torpedo, is there any advantage to slowing back down? I noticed that once at flank you rarely reduce speed
If you fade and got a MOSS going in a different direction, there is a good chance the enemy will focus on the MOSS, which is great for shaking off fast escorts and choppers. It also gives you a chance to launch more weapons if needed, since you'd just jam the tube at high speeds.
I really like these cold waters mods and the game but its a little concerning how 1 uboat needs to fend of 50+ ussr ships. The always mentioned "no friendlies nearby" of the game is a little strange looking from an immersion standpoind.
There probably are other subs in the area by the fact that enemy patrol in the world map disappear in the middle of the norwegian/greenland sea and the lack of friendly suface ships are due to them escorting convoys or patrolling in the GIUK gap.
What if!? You fire one decoy towards the enemy concentration, and another decoy away from enemies before firing your weapons. There can be better possibilities and quicker results, if you know what I meant, unless you want me elaborate.
I have done this, the problem I had with the Los Angeles is the mas you fire towards them, can attract your own torpedoes, so they won't lock on to the enemy submarine, but I don't have this mod so I don't know if it would change anything.
DO NOT set the harpoons to top-attack for merchant ships. There's no need and it confuses the missiles. The horizontal arrow is surface skimming, and it's usually the best. Against ships with anti-missile guns you should fire a combination of attack modes.
@Wolfpack345 Good hunting USS Narwhal! On a separate note, it's been a few weeks since the last time we've seen Yuri Antonov over the skies of Stalingrad... has something happened or is his absence from the channel due to other circumstances?

I usually like all your content Wolfpack, but I do feel that this campaign is too easy for you. You're using the best US sub in a campaign that already heavily favors NATO forces. You're really good at the game on top of all of this, so this campaign just doesn't have the same tension that the Foxtrot USSR campaign had, where you literally had to make judgement calls on half correct info non-stop.
