The Toad ended up being the tank of the party since I (a paladin) couldn’t hit anything. It brought us through several encounters, then our druid fed it to a fungus monster. The druid and the fungus monster then killed the party. Fun times.

    • @Chris-jw8vm
      @Chris-jw8vm 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Why?
      Not played witcher 3 but I've never really experienced that in a rpg game. Generally nothing stopping you from hauling 100s of healing and buff potions so even if it gets tough you can spend your way out.
      Ofcourse like most people I never really bothered with that in games that have a economy as playing smarter was generally preferable to gulping down all my cash.
      Maybe the hardest I can think of off the top of my head for me would be skyrim on legendary difficulty early on or dragons age origins at max. In both of those you had to take the chunky bosses seriously. Giant's required hundreds of arrows to the face early on to take down in skyrim.
      Probably the most difficult boss I've fought in a rpg was morgans mother in dragons age. Seem to recall that you have the option to fight her quite early in and she's bloody tough. Massive black dragon. Took quite alot of tries to get that done without using any consumables.

    • @lindsaycooper3213
      @lindsaycooper3213 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Chris-jw8vm The boss fights in that DLC (Hearts of Stone) were particularly tough. They required you to use specific magic signs in combat, some which you can go through the whole game without using, particularly the toad. It was already a hard fight but without knowing that it's weakness was an otherwise obscure spell, you'd be beating your head against the wall. th-cam.com/video/4ffYE1sRulc/w-d-xo.html

    One of the first 5E parties I was in developed a thing where we mercilessly slaughtered anything resembling frogs after we were hired to capture a bunch of bullywugs for a tavern that had them fight eachother... From that point on, if the DM needed us to side against anyone, all he needed was a single frog... No joke.

  • @DragonCTR

    I am playing the same quest, but things are different. For one, I play as an Ifrit Sorcerer who is still learning how to control his fire powers. Alongside a quarter orc, Alkazar with his wolfdog. A rogue drawf, a "tank" wizard, two barbarians, one is named "The Warrior" who wears a giant bird skull on his head and the other is a high-strong female. Then there was one named August, he's a young summoner with an abomination as a pet.
    Along the quest, almost the same thing has occurred, the ranger quarter-orc was the only coward in the party when found the other fake orcs on the path.
    Story differs quite a large margin where the rest of the party slaughtered the wolves, but August, was a creepy and demented. The player described him as that creepy guy in the corner that whenever he talks, it comes off as extra creepy, even if it is rational. Also he does creepy things. He carries a bag of body parts.
    Anyways, our tank wizard managed to acid spray a wolf, which survived but is in constant misery. August hurried to the injured wolf and subdued the beast by tormenting its mind. The wolf obeyed and became a part of the party. Now August has a deformed wolf and an abomination pet.
    Unfortunately, the wolf died a gruesome death as it was sliced and exploded into chunks due to one of the traps. We came to a hallway that looked safe and so August commanded the wolf to run to the end. Then a trap went off and got splattered into chunks.
    Then comes the tank wizard, he's ready to burn the tomb down and I'm the fire mage. We came against a large beetle in which he threw accelerant on it and I lit up. He then slammed the door shut letting the beetle burn alive. After it was surely dead he opened the door and backdraft occurred. Being an Ifrit, I was unharmed by the fire blast, but I forgot for a moment.
    We fought a wooden golem that I successfully lit on fire with the aid of the warrior throwing tar on it.
    The tank wizard desecrated bones of our ancestors as he tried to get a vantage point. They placed a curse on him which would cause the party to lose supplies from their main inventory. Yup, the tank wizard had our stuff and due to his recklessness, cursed our stuff. He had to plea to the ancestors to remove the curse with the agreement of exchanging gold pieces and the most sincerest of apologies. I then caused an illusionary fire jester hat and a clown nose.
    When we fought the frogs, August wanted to capture one as pet, but we killed them. He found a ring and put it. It so happens to be a transporting body part ring or something like that. At the moment we thought he lost the arm for good, but I gave him an illusory flaming arm. An arm came back. When I said an arm came back, I mean he got some dude's arm with a celestial dragon tattoo.
    I picked up some Azure Fungus, because even though I'm a sorcerer, I'm also a part-time alchemist.
    When we fought the necromancy lord at the end of the tomb, I rolled a magical mishap. It went so bad that the fire ball I released went back in time and hit the mayor squarely in the chest. Almost killed him too. I didn't want to go back home after that.
    The tank wizard redeemed himself by a landing a devastating magical attack on the necromancy.
    I found the staff of the pyre Lord and vowed to bff with the disembodied spirit. Lol.
    I also learned that us magical users, the creepy summoner, the tank wizard, and clumsy Ifrit are the brave ones in the party. Lol.

    Sounds like a fun party.
    In a pathfinder dungeon crawl, I had this Sorcerer (Draconic Bloodline). He once convinced a group of Kobolds to aid his party. He had intended to get them allow them to sleep in peace, but somehow convinced them to attack a nearby party of Drow. You see, the party had come to an area in this dungeon that had two occupied rooms nearby. My Sorcerer had the scent ability (Mixed Blood Feat made it possible), and they were tired and in need of sleep. So Sorcerer decided to try diplomacy. Well, the Kobolds were apparently convinced and left them in the room. My DM rolls percentile and asked me to choose Kobolds "high or low?" Well the Dice gods smiled upon the Kobolds; so despite being outnumbered by the Drow, the Kobolds won. Then the dice gods smiled again while determining how many Kobolds survived, a group like 10 Kobolds lost only 2 or 3. The Party was shocked when they woke up and went to the Drow Room. One of my party of 4 decided this was a great time to kill all these Kobolds. I had tried to stop him by coating the floor to make it more difficult walk. But it didn't work. And because the Kobolds had actually helped us and was going to celebrate with us, my other 2 party members walked out of the room. I was so conflicted, but I also walked out. The Kobolds were all killed, but only the killer felt good about it.

    Ok so here my my story on why I’m not allowed to play mountain Druid anymore.
    So this was a few years ago in a steampunk inspired 5E setting.
    I was playing a human mountain Druid and I played with , a human fighter, dragonborn warlock, elf rouge, and a dwarf bard.
    So the setting was steampunk world where anyone who followed the old way( IE actually smart coexistence ) was looked down upon and persecuted due to the fact that the barons who controlled the worlds supply do coal, iron, water, and wood respectively feared what would happen if people realized they were destroying the world. So the point of the campaign was to free people from the oppression of the barons. As a Druid it was easy for me to preach nature but the rest of my party were more involved in mercenary work and the usual off track stuff, that left me to literally preach the old ways to small towns and villages and it usually worked due to some inspiration from the bard on my rolls during my speeches. But after a year of weekly games and 11 levels we were ready to take the fight to the barons, unknown to us the barons had heard of our exploits and gathered the best of the alchemists and gear workers to create an army of clockwork and biological monsters, part living being part clockwork solider. As we amazed our armies and marched to the barons keeps we were blindsided by the metal monstrosities. These were humanoids that had steam powered projectile launchers and crushing metal claws. Against an army of regular humans, dwarves, halflings and elves. And we won after losing 9/10 of our army and the bard, and it was time for the final monster a mecha cyborg BLACK DRAGON. Turns out the barons tricked the dragon with a promise of draco lichhood to Create the affront to the gods we faced. The dragon had been experimented on and had been grown the over 120 feet long. So we fought the monster and well. We lost t was just me and the warlock and that glorious bastard sold his soul to his patron the shrink the dragon down to size category small, but it won’t only last for 3 round of combat so I panicked and used wall of force to create a sphere around the dragon in size category small , and the barrier lasted longer than the shrinking spell did so a beast the length of 120 feet was compressed into a space less then 4 foot wide.But less than 2 months before we had a player (Human alchemist) join our game and he decided to attempt to create solar tech. And he was actually quite successful and made a real possibility of a better world. But when it came time for the final battle we refused to allow him to join as if we fell he would carry on with the hope that his research would spread and allow the world to heal and recoup from centuries of heavy pollution and strip mining, if we died he was the last one to continue the fight .And well we did after all that matter compressed in such a small space created a nuclear explosion worth 50 megatons( with out the fallout or radiation of course). And that’s it me and my friends made a steam punk world into a world of solar rebels battling the steampunk loyalists, and we died to create a better world for all those who knew no better life.

    The thumbnail reminds me of the campaign I'm in right now. Last session me and the boys killed a 7 foot tall skeleton. The dm told us it would reanimate after 24 hours so I took his 1 ft long claw and the warlock took his skull and we had the lizardfolk ranger craft them into a dagger (claw) and mace (skull). Next session he'll reanimate as a skull and finger and we can use his wizard wisdom to help us with magic. That's the plan at least

    So im new to DnD but personally my funniest moment was probably was my first campaign. The campaign was a villian one meaning we needed evil or questionable characters to take power and serve as bosses in the next campaign. My character was an Undead skeleton named "Mr. Bones" who was a well suited and high charisma necromancer. Originally i was clueless on what to make but that same fateful day there happened to memes of the great skeleton war so why not? When in came to background i wanted a more dynamic setting so i ended up making an amnesiac who vaguely remembered of his sister. Now when we were making characters I asked our dm several questions which when he first heard them said they should be fine to ultimately realize i was capable of killing the entire campaign by accident. The "experiments consisted of: using necromancy to create massive bone monsters and war machines, plaguing fungi to corrupt and control the entire insect population, ect. Ultimately my ideas were stopped last minute when the dm found out my plans. So my character in retaliation decided he still needed power and forces so in return he'd kill any individual who gave him cheap deals and raised them as his minions, and the best minion of all was a miniature skeleton too weak to fight so we turned him into a walking band. Although Mr. Bones was intelligent so any who he kept alive he would teach them necromancy to help expand his forces. He was like a dog with no leash running wild. In the end he became the main villian and with a magic ritual transformed into a demonic skeleton dragon. Our second compaign was the hero's who had to kill the monster, and for story elements Mr. Bones younger sister Amanda Pyreheart; a 5'4" tiefling with a chaotic attitude and fire magic galore! Now our campaign just started but out of boredom when we waited for the campaign to be finished, i decided why not write a book about the siblings? And so far I've created 5 chapter detailing everything that happened before amd during the campaigns. The book I've named "Pyre of Bones"

    If you take stories here is one
    How the lv 2 tabaxi rouge killed 30 lv 15 bug bears
    My name is ethos arriban I am a lv2 rouge I was in the smallest town in the country if chult with some home brew things from the dm he stayed there was a war zone with a power sword lost there two armies both almost died one that was left was a necromancer who rises the dead armies which wasn't really a army more like 30 bug bears and they stayed in the dungeon. Several years later we arrive. Three bug bears are outside but I snuck in and the party forces them to retreat. and we delve deeper after them. And the dungeon is bigger than expected. Five minutes of wandering and we come across a small hallway. And we heard them coming back. With all 30 of them. And everyone was panicking we had crapped out way in. So every one is only lv 2 in a lv 16 dungeon and right now we are still exploring it. But everyone is loading there crap and I had the idea. Our warlock had hot hands. I had oil and ball bearings so I the warlock light it. And I threw it and the fire took up the entire hallway. and they rounded the corner and I placed down ball bearings. The dm roles for 10 of them 3 times. One ran into the fire. Other one tried to jump over and failed the last group succeeded. The last one slipped and fell on ball bearings killing 30 lv 15 bug bears at lv 2. The end thank you for reading this and if you take this for a video thank you and I am a subscriber and got the Bell on do thank you for reading
