Agreed. If there was ever a title that could benefit from a quality remake, this is it. I remember seeing this game as a kid in Hollywood Video or Blockbuster (sigh, memories), and the box art alone was enough to creep me out. By the time I was old enough to be braver, it wasn't sold in stores anymore, only online (not for cheap). This game is essentially what Resident Evil: Gaiden, Dead Aim, and Revelations tried to be, only better in several respects. The "zombies on an abandoned boat" concept is practically gift-wrapped with potential for isolated action-horror. It's a shame that so few games (and films, for that matter) have managed to actually do that premise justice.
This game was an abysmal failure that sold less than 70.000 copies in a year and received mediocre reviews (especially in comparison to Resident Evil 4, that came out the same year). The chances of a remake are close to zero
my favorite parts main character: sees a dead body mc: nothing useful mc: the door is locked by an electric lock [shoots the electrical box next to the door] mc: its unlocked :)
Aaaaa did the devs forget that this man got cocked în the mouth a second time by one of the infectors? The character even said one vaccine two pacients
This was a pretty good game, with awesome graphics at it's time, but it felt way to hectic to play, also narration was poorly executed and it was pretty short. Thanks for the great playtrough!
Breakdown was an absolutely revolutionary game that pioneered and paved the way for many videogame concepts we have today. Such a shame Namco never got the credit they deserve for it. Masterpiece of a game and art
I just think it a good s/f and horror for its age.i will keep the game all way play it on my ps2 I have some blue caver game and a lot of platinum two as I buy and keep.
I just found this cool game, but the tank controls combined with the inability to move the character with the mouse, is attrocious! I rather play very slowly using the "2nd person mode"
This and Daymare are inspired by the Resi series in different ways. Daymare 1998 is a straight up hardcore resi fan project, Cold Fear is Ubi's attempt at a Resi style survival horror game. Similarities are mainly the over the shoulder viewpoint in a action/survival horror game, a pretty new experience at the time and a first for the resi series, and both games released months apart so they're going to be compared to each other.

This really needs a remake. A ship at stormy seas with zombies... Never gets old. Imagine how awesome the graphics would look these days.

Interesting concept using the Coast Guard and Ship themes. Nice to see that in a horror game because it's not used nearly enough.
01:14:53 "A handheld grenade launder. What's this doing here?"
Finally, a video game protagonist asking the right questions.
One of my childhood favourites! Thanks P.B.! :)
Congrats on hitting 28K bro
@@PBHorrorGaming Thank you so much! :)
my favorite parts

"Oh, Tom!"
This was an AWESOME game growing up. They don't make them like this anymore
Thank you I forgot allll about this game! Deff a hard classic!
This is a good, honest game. Not too complex, but not too simple. The atmosphere rocks, and the characters are somewhat immersive.
Man taking turn with my brothers when we would die, being scared, the graphics in that time we were like “oh shit it looks so real “…. memories:,)
I never finish this game.. Thanks for upload this video.. Damn i miss this game so much
hey man like your game play I might actually give this a go if I could get my fossil of a console to work this game has some humour to it

Look forward to resident evil 8 playthrough buddy. Great video thanks for your hard work.
it's been ages since we last have an original game that is unique, and not belong to a "franchise"
This masterpiece needs a remake urgently :)
Re4, mgs2, syphon filter, the suffering, halflife. This game has it all.
Aaaaa did the devs forget that this man got cocked în the mouth a second time by one of the infectors? The character even said one vaccine two pacients

Ohh nostalgic my first horror game in pc
This was a pretty good game, with awesome graphics at it's time, but it felt way to hectic to play, also narration was poorly executed and it was pretty short. Thanks for the great playtrough!

Breakdown was an absolutely revolutionary game that pioneered and paved the way for many videogame concepts we have today. Such a shame Namco never got the credit they deserve for it. Masterpiece of a game and art
Awesome game, thanks for this brother! (:
This game scared me as much as Dead Space did when me and a buddy played it on xbox back in the day.
I love this game
Ahhh...Cold Fear. The game was so busted, my 15 year old self can edit the game files without having any experiences
You mean like crysis?
I just think it a good s/f and horror for its age.i will keep the game all way play it on my ps2 I have some blue caver game and a lot of platinum two as I buy and keep.
I play this is amazing game 🙂🙂❤️❤️
I feel sorry for this dude. An infinitely more skilled team could have done this.

NIIIIIICE
There is a room with unlimited supply of ammo and heal .
Is it good?
I loved the idea but the controls killed all the joy so I groped it in hour later.
This game is very Resident Evil for a non Resident Evil game
I was too scared to play
I just found this cool game, but the tank controls combined with the inability to move the character with the mouse, is attrocious! I rather play very slowly using the "2nd person mode"
Мне нравится что главный герой даже не попытался поговорить с русскими и просто начал палить
TRK

Resident Evil 4 at home
It's a good game. but the enemy types are to repetitive.
I dont get it why people call this similar to re4 . This game is kinda boring tbh it kinda reminds me of daymare instead
