Plus I recall reading he had it laced w/ explosives if he was in a situation he needed an explosive and/or was willing to go on a suicide run. All that means it'd have to be bulky, but the best look he had was Alex Ross' from Kingdom Come.

Sure. But as I said in the point, the actual costume itself and how it stays on, does not make sense. Also love doesn't necessarily have to mean lust, that's really just an interpretation that the creative team decided to go with. It's similar for the Sapphires, and since their whole deal for a while was desire, passion and love, their suits would tend toward more provocative designs. That's the Watsonian reason, anyway. So the look was likely shaped by Carol's own mind. Explains why every iteration has her looking different too, as her mental state and even her mood might play a role, and she's not always quite herself when she has the ring.

Thank God comic book writers don't take cosplay into account when creating characters! It's their job to tell a compelling story, and if that inspires people to mimic the look as a means of appreciation then it's THEIR job to figure out HOW. I didn't like the storyline, but the artist for red hood and the outlaws was damn fantastic. That was the best Starfire has ever looked. The coolest, most badass, sexiest, whatever. The energy was just there. I really don't care how much skin a character is or isn't showing if it looks good and it isn't against their characterization.
I think the issue I have with Starfire's outfit in Red Hood and The Outlaws is more that she wore it when she wasn't really herself. This was the costume she wore while she was amnesiac. Making her an amnesiac kind of takes away a lot of her agency for how she dresses imo. I don't mind Starfire wearing less normally though. I just don't think it needs to be that extreme and during a time when she is struggling to remember her own life.

Despite the disclaimer... the Star Sapphire rant seems like one written and forced to be on the list from some woke hire up. Hi there. The "rant" as you called it was scripted by me. :) We all write our own scripts on Nerd, unless otherwise stated in the video description or the video itself. As I said already and have said many times, I have no issue with women being sexy. I love sexy women and I also have cosplayed as many sexy characters myself and love when sexy outfits are used to empower people in stories and celebrate their sexuality - which is an AWESOME part of the medium btw! However that doesn't mean their costumes aren't also ridiculous at times (like when they don't make sense or are used to simply objectify the character). When I struggle to even comprehend how to put together a cosplay of a character, yes, I'm going to call that out for being a bit much and being a bit silly - because it's not even something we can create in the real world. Granted, maybe if I had a Violet Ring I could. I am tired of people judging me when I celebrate sexy costumes. And I'm tired of people judging me when I critique them. I'm either considered not progressive enough or too 'woke'. These are my own thoughts - they are not manipulated by any agenda, they are 100% my own. I'm free to express them.
