Absolutely a great movie! Loved it in the 80s and love it now.

I loved that movie. I was 12 when it came out as well. and the humor has aged well.

One of my favorites. The Professor did not see it coming, and definitely deserved it

I haven't seen this movie in years. Not since the early 90's. Thanks for the solid updated review. Now I feel like watching this in a double feature with Weird Science or Wargames.

You are welcome!!! I think those double feature ideas are wonderful!

While far from representative of my college experience, I do recall the chemistry department blowing things up on a fairly regular basis.

The movie's not really my speed, as much as I generally liked Val's acting back in the day (he definitely matured and improved greatly as he got older, unlike Nick Cage...). However, American-style pie-in-the-face humour hasn't often made me laugh since I was 9 or 10 years old, and thus as "interesting" as this movie was, it's cringe factor was just too high for me to regard it highly. The Back to the Future series was borderline in this regard, but it would be my pick as "best 80s movie(s) mixing humour and science".
