These are great tips for beginners! I think one of the hardest things about jetes, is making sure you maintain your turnout and dont let your coupe sickle or get too high up your leg (those are the corrections I tend to get. Especially if I'm getting tired). I used to dread petite allegro but I'm starting to like it more. It definitely can take a bit to get the coordination of all the steps and get your feet to do what your brain is telling it to do! lol One of my favorite combinations my teacher gives us sometimes, is glisade, assemble, sous-sous. Then repeat to the left and then three glissade assembles alternating directions and then two changements. Sometimes we even repeat the whole thing starting to the left. It's a pretty 'simple' combination but it's really fun!
Very helpful breakdown of all these common ballet moves! Thank you! And I am also relieved that it can take weeks or longer of classes to get this down! Lol! Even tho I am a returning Adult Dancer, it's been 30 yrs since I was a teen adv pointe dancer! So it IS taking me a bit to gain back my muscle memory and coordination, it seems! Arrggh! Glad to kno this process is normal to many students and not just me! :)
Last night we had a Glissade, jeté, Pas de bourrée, pas de chat, assemblé, changement, changement, repeat and I swear I could not remember to include the pas de bourrée part to save my life.
I am a 49 year old ballet student of about three years and my brain has to practice more to remember :( It’s almost comical that I’ve been practicing in the kitchen and have I say it outloud. It’s still super messy. Thank you so much for this video as it allowed me to focus more on the brushing of the assemblé I enjoy your videos very much, very helpful!!
So glad to hear that you're enjoying the videos! If you have anything else you'd love to see, we're always happy to take video suggestions! Happy dancing :)
Thank you! Check out our updated video as well with a back view of the combination in case you'd like even more help following along! th-cam.com/video/Trvpd3WO5os/w-d-xo.html

That's a great combo! Keeping it simple is definitely the way to go! Once you get comfortable you can always add more 😁 Thanks for sharing!

Yes! It’s definitely not just you! It’s pretty tricky to master for many dancers! Keep us posted on your progress ☺️

Ooo what a great (and tricky!!!) combination!!! Amazing job remembering the combination to write it down and practice after class! I'm impressed! :)
