    I get what you mean about the 29s I've been riding mine for a few years and it still feels "big" if you know what I mean. Great for rolling over rocks and tall tree roots though. The Remedy also will soak up the little bumps in the back and keep better traction making cornering feel better especially at speed. I think that trail would be great for one of your e-bikes, just watch the speed on the way down as the brakes aren't great, but it would be interesting to see how you like that. I'm still envious about all the trails you have around there!

    My main riding buddy 🐶(seriously he looks just like this guy) and I agree,the gym and running just don’t do it like killer climbs on the bike for cardio and weight control not to mention those activities aren’t a”total blast”mountain biking totally is and I don’t like golf. Thanks for another great vid always happy to drop a like for mboy.See you in 🇨🇦 whenever you can get here 👍😁👍🤙

    First, huge ups for how you’ve grown and managed your page. I feel like a few of us have been there from day one! The “Roscoe 9” is definitely your bike of choice and I’ve come around to it myself. Keep going Sir! (wrote that before you asked us to post thoughts).

    If you didn't feel like buying new brakes you could swap the SLXs from the Roscoe over to the Remedy. The SLX 4 pistons which is what the Roscoe 9 comes with are great bang for the buck brakes. If you want to get a bit spendier I'd check out the TRP DH-R Evo brakes, they're even better than the Shimanos (same power as XT 4 pots, but more consistent and better modulation feel without the squishy lever of SRAM brakes). Speaking of non-chill trails you should get the Remedy out to Left Hand sometime.

    If you do want to try an XC race I would suggest the Gowdy Grinder. It's in late September and is up at Curt Gowdy state park in Wyoming (about a 2 hour drive from Denver). The race classes are set up by difficulty and course length ranging from Beginner (great for first timers) which is a 4 mile loop course to the 21 mile very technical course that the open/pro riders run. That race also helps to support the NICA team in Cheyenne. As for enduros, not sure what enduros are running in CO this summer or which ones are friendly to new racers, I raced the Salida Enduro in April as my first enduro and it was brutal.

    Matty,
    I got a Timber Bell for riding those multi use trails. It rings automatically so the hikers can hear me before they see me. Also, It has an off switch.

    Freaking love this bike... Will love to have one of this but I think I will go for the x caliber 9 since it will cost me $ 1500 and has similar components... Guess it will be more cross than trail for me.

    I'm just getting back into mountain biking, trying to get to this world of 1x drivetrains, dropper posts, and awesomely designed but way-too-expensive bikes! I live in a flat place without any amazing trails nearby, but I love watching your vids! Do you have a list of all your favorite tracks for me to add to my bucket list? Keep up the good work. Best.

    That trail looks awesome! That said, you should not lay your bike on the drive side. It is better to lay it on the other side to protect the derailleur and not bend the hanger :)

    Greetings Matty…..Really appreciate your videos! So I have a Marlin 8 Gen2 and just picked up a Roscoe 7 in Miami green to test out. I am older guy and don’t ride anything extreme so I am sure bike will be plenty fine for me. Do you know anything about the e13 LG1 Enduro rims it came with? Seems most have the Bontrager Line rims. It did come with the XR4 tires so hopefully those are adequate. Thanks again for sharing your experience and knowledge with us😎

    • @MattyActive
      @MattyActive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! I don’t know anything about that honestly

    • @sportmedtech
      @sportmedtech ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have the same tires and wheels on my Roscoe 7. The XR tires are okay but a lighter casing tire and honestly kind of a slow tire. Run them until they are dead then upgraded based on your terrain. The Ethirteen wheels are their enduro spec wheels and are a solid wheel. You don’t need to upgrade those. The Shimano hub that comes with the wheels are relatively low engagement but work well and are durable. Honestly, the biggest improvement I made to my Roscoe seven was ditching the MT 200 brakes and going with a set of SLX M-700 4 piston brakes and larger rotors.

    I was wondering what your thoughts would be as I have never had a duel suspension bike before.
    My current bike is a Cannondale trail 1 2019 .
    Also I live in Australia so pricing is different to you guys.

    Would you say it would be possible to do an xc race on this bike? I don't want to have 2 bikes trail and xc I currently have a Merida big trail 400 the Rosco is about 4lbs lighter then my bike so tempted to go for it

  • @jonathancraig1738

    Matty. Lovin' all your Roscoe vids from Ireland. Pulling trigger on an R9 but torn on sizing. LBS does not have medium in stock and M/L, although fitting just, means I am waaaaay at the bottom of size range at 5'8 and a wee bit and dropper collar slammed. Tempted to stick with M/L for 150 dropper but worried she will feel too big on trail. Any thoughts after all your time on the R? Niiiice! Jon

    I just picked up my Trek Roscoe 9 yesterday, came with TRP hydraulic brakes, I find the rear caliper mounting bolt on the back is super close to the rear disc rotor, is your mounting bolt super close also to the disc rotor? like 1mm or so? Just seems odd

    Honestly, those bars look too wide for you? what are you running? 820? I'm thinking you'd like 'em a whole lot more cut down about 20 mm per side. I can see your arms are splayed out quite a bit wider than your shoulders....
