He must have persuaded her not to be worried about it, that it would be fine - no sweat.
Well, she saw and found out firsthand that the signs are real and they are serious...they were warned. She chose to believe the empty claims of her 'boyfriend/friend/brother (whoever); rather than the signs.
Why else would she lash out at him several times.
Unless he is a real lowlife moocher, no doubt she made him pay the towing charge and whatever else to get her car back - like an Uber ride to the pound.

I drove for Uber for 3 years in San Francisco. I've taken many people to get their cars from the impound lot next to the police station. Minimum charge is $800. Some of the techies just laugh. No biggie to them. Or, mommy and daddy will just pay it.

My World I was confused at first, but then realized that he was actually doing the owners of the car a huge service by not towing the vehicle by the dead wheels, possibly causing damage to the transmission. Pretty darned nice of the guy actually.

Regardless, it’s their own fault for parking where they shouldn’t have. The tow driver clearly did not abuse the vehicle. He was more than careful when handling it.

I had once parked my little truck in a "10 minute" spot in front of my pharmacy to pick something up, I was not breaking rules but still got towed!!!
My big dog was in the back, and not only was I wrongfully towed, but the asshole opened the back to see my dog, a Great Pyrenees, and left the door handle opened ...I wish my girl has attacked him... but she had more brains and decency than he did...

Here in the land of Dallas we have the self entitled individuals. Let's call them the serfs and trolls. They park their small pony in a stall that does not belong to them. Even after reading signs telling them not to leave their pony there. Then in the dark of night comes along the Defender of the Realm.."Sir Tows Alot" He, along with one of his minions skillfully remove the unwanted pony from private stalls and take it to the Castle pokey. Legally, the lady who parked there is 100% responsible for the tow. It's like I tell my daughter about making left turns when there is a car honking behind you. They're not going to pay for your tickets and any damages that may result of your actions. Trust your own instincts and don't rely on others impatience or idiocy.

You really need sadder music than what you played when they walked around the corner. Also, as great and as detailed and as funny as your videos are I think there was an opportunity for special effects that got missed when they were standing there arguing. Never ceases to amaze me how many people don't use their parking brake.
You don't need to when you have an automatic transmission unless you're parked on a steep hill.
If you put enough force behind it, you can get the wheels to spin against the pads/shoes used in a parking brake. Once you wear enough of the material down, the wheels will roll just fine.
Or their reading and comprehension skills.
They will open the door and release the parking brake. There's no "trick" to avoid a tow.
BBQ Jerk-I didn't think FnixGhod1 was implying there was a trick...just making a general observation. It's one I often wondered, as well. Even with an automatic, you should use your brake...not to avoid getting towed but to protect the parking pawl (especially in a RWD vehicle). They could still tow it if they couldn't get inside to release the brake with the use of dollies or a rollback.

Not sure what the laws are in Texas but when they tow a vehicle where I live they have to have the front wheels tied down and a rear light installed on the trunk for brakes lights before the vehicle can leave the area. it's considered an illegal tow if they do otherwise. also lifting up vehicles from the undercarriage can cause damage to the exhaust system and other components. the service center that I work at we have had an occasional car come in from toes like that with damage to the undercarriage and even the kick panels of the vehicle
I live in Austin and we have a saying here in Texas.... " Texas, It's a whole other country. " We have laws here that out of state Folks just don't realize till AFTER the fact. Oh & by the way..... Yawl come back now Ya' hear." Also the Tow drivers here are VERY highly trained and also have a College Degree in "Urban Towing, Wreaker & Recovery." Which are courses at University of Texas Austin, & Austin Community College.
Moral of the story - don't park your car where it can be towed. Respect other people's property to avoid towing fees and/or damage to your jalopy.

What amazes me even more than the fact that these people either cannot or will not read simple signs, is that in this age of instant info, and people doing everything online, that these videos don't seem to be any kind of deterrent. With the amount of people in these videos that pull out a cellphone and take a picture of the sign when they discover their car gone, some of them must have come across your channel and seen what happens when they ignore the signs.

Tow company needs a large lot around the corner they can lock cars up in so they can do speedy turn arounds and make bank off of people that can’t read the signs.

The weight is spread over such a large area there wouldn’t be much, if any damage.
On small cars like that one, pretty much the entire underside is in some way structural, especially the areas just under the doors. The exhaust pipes are also recessed into a tunnel that runs down the middle of the car (where the drive shaft would be on a rear wheel drive vehicle), so there isn’t much if anything that could get bent or dented by a tow arm.
That said, it might be possible to scratch the paint somewhat, but rocks and debris could do just as much damage.

That hydraulic arm is only meant to be under the wheels not the undercarriage, that's a brain dead move picking it up like that. I agree they should be towed from a spot they are not allowed in but not like that. The brake lines and fuel lines run flat along the bottom of the undercarriage of most cars and that's a good way to damage them.
They do this in almost every video to turn the car around. I'd think they'd be getting complaints or lawsuits if they were really damaging cars. But it definitely looks wrong.
Again I say not the tow company’s issue. Don’t break the law.
@@HangingWithMelissa If the tow company does damage to your car it is most definitely their issue, that car being park at that business does not automatically warrant damage to that vehicle because of a minor parking violation.

If the cars that got towed asked for the footage would you be able to provide it for them? if people wanted to sue the towing company for improper towing damages. Just curious.

The amount of people that go "Yeah I'm gonna risk getting towed for this!" Is dumbfounding.
Signs usually would specify a time frame that would be illegal to park there.
If the sign says Sun - Sat 24/7, then the business is within their rights to tow at any time, even 3am in the morning when you would think, there surely is no reason not to park there.
If they do not specify a time, it is safe to assume that it may be a 24 hour tow away zone.
Where they are located, there are bars, nigh clubs and venues all around them. Also 20 ish of $5 dollar public parking lots in the same area.
What makes you think that a well used server farm only needs techs twice a year at night? They run a 24/7 business.

Bullshit. Parking illegally doesn't provide a justification to damage someone's property.
Before that can begin to work as an excuse the party causing the damage will need to demonstrate there was no other way, and they had an urgent need to do whatever caused damage.
But this towing company is just effing lazy and loves destroying people's cars, as well as hiring thugs to direct people to park there, before towing them and extorting them money? Leaving a family with children stranded in the dead of night? No problem for All Star Towing LLC. Their profits are more important than the wellbeing of children.
Yeah that's salty, but maybe they shouldn't get involved in extortion rackets if they didn't want to be described as greedy criminals.
You have to prove the damage was caused the tow truck. That will be hard since any ding or dent could be from something else...at least, that is the explanation that will be used by the tow truck company.

Voila, burden of proof is now on the towing company to show the unusual damage which can't possibly be caused by driving, was not caused by them. Even more so since only a proper four wheel off the ground tow avoids damage to gear when a car is parked in nose first.
And since All Star LLC hasn't even got any such cars in their fleet, it's automatic proof that they caused any gear damage your car will have.

@ I really wouldn't call it justified to think it's harsh a 24 hour business wants there parking spots open for customers, it's their property and they have the right to choose who can park there.
@ I'm pretty sure the person that makes these videos said they are open for customers 24 hours, but regardless I see nothing unreasonable about them wanting their parking for customers. Walking a dog past a business which takes a minute or two is A LOT different than leaving your car parked for hours taking up valuable space. Try making a comparison that's actually reasonable.

Damaging it. These guys do some seriously shady stuff to cut corners. They should have wheel dollies which take seconds to slide under the front wheels so you can pull a FWD car out without damaging it. I am surprised they haven't asked him to stop posting videos of the pickups. The sad part is they charge the max allowed by law, so they are paid enough to take the extra minute to use the dollies.
Usually, they just drag the car out then later they will properly secure it. This prevents time lost and confrontation with the owners.

@@_PatrickO dollies won't help. Once you've lifted the front up to dolly it any damage done would be done at that point. To pivot around is unlikely to do any more damage than the atypical lifting from the side does to pivot it around. Those forks are perfectly flat & smooth & pretty unlikely to cause serious damage worse than scratches on the undercarriage. Most tow signs say park "at your own risk" anyway! You KNOW what that means.
