I swear Aston can keep making variants of this chassis forever and it would keep on selling. The design is just so timeless and whoever drew it first is an absolute master!
Chris Harris on Cars What other projects are you working on other than "C.H. on cars"? I would love to watch more of your work. You should have a twitter of facebook or something to keep us posted on the work coming out! I would watch every single video, and i am sure i am not alone on that... Think about it!
I've always liked Chris Harris. A damn good driver, informative and fun to watch, and an all-around likeable guy. I was part of the team at Gaydon that built these GT12's (along with the GT8's and AMR Pro's) and i'd somehow missed this video when it was released, so when I stumbled across it I was really pleased (and somewhat proud) that he enjoyed it. It's just a shame that Matt "I'm an actor, so I must be able to turn my hand to anything" LeBlanc was given the new Vantage to test drive on Top Gear, and not Chris. I think Chris would have given it a more honest, comprehensive and interesting review.
The new editor is brilliant! The overhead shots were purely magnificent. The car itself is magnificent. The noise and the looks! This is definitely the best video I've seen today!
Razatiger Ault Half the battle is simply looking where you want to go rather than at what you might collide with. Easier said than done in a car of this calibre. I'd be worried about stuffing it!
Razatiger Ault Depending where you live, a local track membership is quite affordable (especially with a club) for the year. Get out there and start burning rubber.
Watching this on the eve of 2023, lamenting the demise of cars like this. That V12 howl combined with the characterful sportshift gearbox, carbon and wing everywhere. What a car!
Probably the highest quality content on TH-cam right now. The editing on this video is superb, credits where it's due to Chris and Neil, fantastic job! An absolute joy to watch, no wonder there's such a gap between videos, but I don't mind waiting two weeks or so if the content is of this quality. Keep it up guys!
The aerial shot from 2:14 to 2:24 is absolutely breathtaking... great work Alistar! The whole video is superb, with a great "this is what driving really is" lesson from Chris in the awesome new Aston Martin Vantage GT12! You guys are THE car channel to watch. Congratulations to all the team.
One of the best reviews I have seen in a bit...beautiful car...incredible soundtrack...and crazy good driving skills. I have come to expect nothing less from Chris Harris on Cars!
1 like does not suffice the gratitude I have for Chris Harris and his work with cars. A true driver and an absolute magician when it comes to drifting!!
That noise is just evangelical, it can genuinely bring a tear to my eye. There is no better word, it has such a soulful, emotional wail to it that I just can't help but feel addicted to it
oh man, absolutely badass review.... You are right ,the sound is one of if not the best sounnding exhaust notes EVER..I love everything about this Aston..Only thing I would change would be the color..Ha-ha ..Super high end with a Muscle car feel..That's what I get from the review.. Anyway great review, badass Auto...
This car makes me feel sad. Cause it's an end of an era of NA V12, V10, V8, Flat 6.... And we won't see anymore cars like this astonishing Vantage GT12. Also, this car holds probably the last best engine ever made. Two original Ford V6 to become a 5.9 V12 only built for Astons for about 15 years. From the Vanquish, the DB9, DBR9, DBS, V12 Vantage, Lola AM DBR1-2 LMP1, V12 Vantage GT3, CC-100 to this final GT12. I'm going to miss that engine a lot... Great review Chris. Thank you and thanks to your team for these awesome footage.
Jonathan Mitchell According to Chris' Twitter, a company called TrackdayFilms stepped in to help with shooting and the editing. I'm guessing Neil wasn't available at the time.
Chris has some serious drifting skills putting expensive machinery on the edge of control. Great shots where you could actually see the adrenaline rush in his facial expression. Those who haven't done this, don't know what they are missing!
Great video. You guys have definitely upped your game a bit on the cinematography side of things. Also this car turns my opinion of Aston around. I thought they were way behind the times and quite boring based on what's out there these days. This car is seriously cool.
I like Neil's editing better. I'll give credit to that in-car camera behind the seats, other than that, from the cuts to the music choice, I think Neils was better. Does anything happened to him?
Gonçalo Ferreira wondered the same thing; i thought wow Neil's gone for a different look this time till i saw the credits...wasn't bad for me just different
Gonçalo Ferreira Yes thought the same here, not sure on the music selection and maybe not as smoothly put together as Neil. Did like the camera zooming behind the seats.
Gonçalo Ferreira According to Chris' Twitter, a company called TrackdayFilms stepped in to help with shooting and the editing. I'm guessing Neil wasn't available at the time.
Anthony Johnson maybe because here he can do and say what he likes - concentrate on driving the best cars for real enthusiasts, and not doing stupid stunts having his every move scrutinised on the BBC like Clarkson :|
Aston Martin: Pollutes the air with shitty sounding exhaust notes that little dick males think sounds cool Tesla: Cars can fart and play ice cream truck sounds using speaker. Aston Martin is inferior to the almighty Tesla. Elon is the richest man in the world.
Good film work, feels like its more about the cars and less about being a pretty video project. Albeit that the film work is amazing but just fits better. Some of the latest videos have been all about all about cinematography and scenery slow mo's. Nothing better than seeing Chris Harris driving the nuts out of something and having a face paced car focused edit. Top work
Ehhh... I don't know if I should commend Aston for not just plopping a ZF Tans in the thing and be done with it to get high praise from everyone and their mum like most of the other manufacturers do or if I should slap them for including an outdated single clutch system in a 250k limited edition car as one would expect such a thing to be built to the highest standards. Well, they are all sold out anyway so who am I to judge. :|
Roshan Torcy The gearbox is part of the experience. The Vantage GT12 is a very pure car, and this is, besides a manual (but this does not really represent racing nowadays), the purest and most mechanical form of flappy paddle gearbox you can get.
Roshan Torcy Might as well let someone who knows what they are doing build the transmission IMO, rather than trying to cobble something together in house - I'm sure it's a fun exercise for the engineers, but they clearly either don't have the resources, or aren't capable of building a competitive transmission. But yeah, it's Aston Martin, they can get away with flaws and still sell out.
Roshan Torcy There maybe limitations regarding the torque, but I don't think it is likely. They would have to reprogram the computer to use the different ratios, etc which might be too great of a hassle instead of modifying a sort of tried and true in house gearbox. Also, keep in mind that Aston Martin is not doing so well money-wise.
Roshan Torcy The purist in me still thinks this should have a manual gearbox to gain an advantage over the Porsche GT3. My issue is; why do they get these gearboxes so wrong when Ferrari got them so right with the 430 Scuderia and 599 GTO? I remember when you could get conversions to a manual gearbox for an original Vanquish S.
Alex Peak I think Ferrari outsource most of their gearbox design to Graziano Trasmissioni and Getrag, who know their way around a cog or two. Seriously, it's such a difficult thing to get right unless you have huge resources and a dedicated division working on it, you just aren't going to compete.
some of the camera and production work you guys are doing these days is really just unbelievable. makes pretty much every other car review channel on youtube look like hobbyists
We all know a lot of us here use adblock and yes i know how annoying some ads can be on some pages. However, ads are pretty much the only way youtubers get revenue from youtube. You can help Chris and other actual good youtubers by left clicking the adblock button, and whitelist their channels. I mean, it doesn't hurt to wait five seconds and skip the ad, while genuinely passionate video makers like Chris gets their deserved support, right?
nogeniuos imo its still ok i just said its "starting" , the car needs just some small improvements to give it a "fresh" look nothing big. for example take the jaguar f type, such a refreshing car in all aspects to the older models
I always take great pleasure in viewing your videos Mr chris harris. When you look at your videos you can see at what point of loving you as well as cars and driving them to the limit.
AM now employing chavs in the styling/marketing departments. Sadly I suspect the marketing department is responsible. What a heinous colour scheme. What's happened to Aston Class, it's already going a bit AMG. My vote would be db5 silver, flecks of BRG and yes maybe a few raw carbon bits but in moderation.
Cheers,Chris, you are one hell of a driver in almost anything you get behind the wheel of. I must also say your reviews are superb, hitting all the key points. Keep the sticky side down mate.
then GT3 RS is a MUCH better proposition. this is a collector car period. only Astons collectors would buy them that is why they only make 100 of them. not impressed at all. perfomance is lousy by todays standards. tranny as crappy as ever. and now they ruined the look - best thing about Astons.
390k US Dollars (if you could get one)...same price as an Aventador base model. I think I'd have to go aston on that choice. This aston is tough to deny...very cool style, awesome sound, limited production. Strikes me as a bit of an LFA'esque car that will go underrated and not fully appreciated. Chris Harris on Cars ...I LOVE your videos and your presentation style...been watching you for a long time. Your technical bits are what I often look for...talking about tire width and reaction to camber, etc. I'd like to hear more of that if you could inject it in there. You sliding this Aston around made you look a little more on edge of fun by your reactions at times...this "balance" sliding the car at the limit and its twitchiness...has so much to do with chassis, damper, tire, etc...I'd love to hear more about your thoughts when cars react in various ways, on how they could be improved possibly. This information is good for those of us developing track cars for various uses. GREAT videos...don't lose this touch as success grows. Keep it real man...keep it real.
Chris Harris please never stop doing what you do one of the best ever car reviewers you need your own show, would gladly pay a subscription just to watch your videos Thank You
wow cinematography is on a new level. Apart from the drone shots the slow zooming from the rear is a new one but effective! keep up the cool vlogs Chris.
Some of the best driving I have seen you do. Intense concentration in some of those corners. Great looking / sounding car. Well done Aston and well done Chris yet again for another great video.
AMAZING material. I'm subscribed to an infinity of YT channels. For car lovers, this is the best material possible. The driving, the filming, the editing, the writing. All very well done. Great job. Greetings from Brazil.
Just awesome! What a beast of an Aston Martin the GT12 is! It definitely has boy racer looks, but the ppl buying this are still children at heart. Also, love the drone/heli footage too. Beautifully shot and presented/written as always! Thanks Chris & team!
Fantastic videography, really a stellar job! Loved the facial expressions when Chris took it out on the track without tc. Taking his driving ability into consideration, I think I'd be hanging in a tree if I were in that car trying the same stuff.
That V12 is so distinctive. It doesn’t sound like any other V12. Most V12 have a more harmonious joining of cylinder firing, like a musical instrument. This is like a big V8 with a spicy 4 banger friend next to it. You can hear every one of the 12 explosions individually.
I have always thought that the Aston V12 was one of the best sounding engines in the world.. And the changes they made to this one has made it sound even better!!
Wish more than anything I could just buy you a beer to thank you for making these videos, Chris. Nothing comes even close. Can't wait for the next one!
Good job on another test Chris and hopefully we will see you doing more of the same on the West Coast of Canada as we have some excellent roads to enjoy here.
Ken Block isn't good, though. He can do a few 'drifts' but overall, he is overhyped by the drift scene. Chris Harris and other racing drivers are on another level.
Hello Chris, Just amazing to see you each week from Belgium. My English is not very good but when you explain and make feel what is your passion, it's just wonderfull!! Just continue to make us dream!! It will be great you organize a test road and track meeting with Steve Sutcliffe, Dickie Meaden, Jethro Bovingdon, Henry Catchpole, Tiff Needle(you did it with the Speciale and GT3), etc... Thanks again for your perfect knowledge and driving experience.
I swear Aston can keep making variants of this chassis forever and it would keep on selling. The design is just so timeless and whoever drew it first is an absolute master!
Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker combo......truly a timeless masterpiece.
Don't worry, Neil's going nowhere. But we have other projects and we need other people to help us. Al is pure class and I like working with him.
Love Neil's work, but good to see someone else's style - liked the back seat shot especially!
Chris Harris on Cars Woohey, I've actually seen Al's work elsewhere, pure class indeed. Top video, guys. Thanks a lot.
Chris Harris on Cars What other projects are you working on other than "C.H. on cars"? I would love to watch more of your work. You should have a twitter of facebook or something to keep us posted on the work coming out! I would watch every single video, and i am sure i am not alone on that...
Think about it!
Alasdair Kerr Cabin sound is pretty shitty though...
Capt Mifune He has both Twitter and FB - Google them!
It sounds like an OLD V12. And that's a good thing.
I've always liked Chris Harris. A damn good driver, informative and fun to watch, and an all-around likeable guy. It’s a tight squeeze for that V12 in a Vantage, is maintenance on the Vantage V12 hard? Does it have common problems?
The new cinematography was gorgeous in this vid. Stunning shots of a great car!
***** Hello, cat brother
This was the best car channel on youtube. Full stop. Topgear be damned. This was a poetry channel to all of us gearheads. Top gear be damned.
Still here 6 years later, still adore this creation
Mac 675LT Jag F-Type SVR Aston GT12 are my favorite British cars of all time!
The new editor is brilliant! The overhead shots were purely magnificent. The car itself is magnificent. The noise and the looks! This is definitely the best video I've seen today!
***** Nice drone shots
Top gear and fifth gear who?!
I'll stick with Mr Harris thanks!
Great work as always!
wish i knew how to drive a car half as well as chris.
knew*
Nik Brudar woops I can't even spell today.
Razatiger Ault and he does it all while talking or smiling at the camera. Never fails to disappoint!
Razatiger Ault Half the battle is simply looking where you want to go rather than at what you might collide with. Easier said than done in a car of this calibre. I'd be worried about stuffing it!

One of the best, if not THE best filmed car video on TH-cam. You are in a class of your own. Outstanding.
1:30 dear god, if only that noise kept going on forever...
Just fantastic! My days are always better when I see a new video came out.Upping my Patreon donation now!
Chris Harris. You sir are a MASTER of car control. What ever you do, never stop making videos like this!
Always a pleasure to watch :)
One of the best reviews I have seen in a bit...beautiful car...incredible soundtrack...and crazy good driving skills. I have come to expect nothing less from Chris Harris on Cars!
Yeah I was upset when the 3 legends left Topgear but I'm so looking forward to see Mr Harris loon round the track
Still drooling six years later
The Aston Martin v12 vantage gt3 is my favorite car in Project Cars. It feels so damn good to drive in that game.
It's 2024 and I still love this car !......there are only a few cars that sound this good !
You miss Top Gear ? Here are both Stig and hosts in a single body.
Kaisuke971 very well put
1 like does not suffice the gratitude I have for Chris Harris and his work with cars. A true driver and an absolute magician when it comes to drifting!!
Ben Caprara
fund him on Patreon, however much you want
still waiting for that RS6 long-term test
Rodrigo Pinto maybe it is a VERY long-term test....
that car is long gone
StefanoTrefano so was the FF but he still did it

Great review Chris. Thank you and thanks to your team for these awesome footage.
Somehow the camera job feels a bit TopGear-ish. Which is no bad thing. No bad thing at all.
Can't get tired of that howling V12 though
Huge props to Niel with the cinematography. The drone shots and slowly zooming interior shots were awesome..
Love the new over the shoulder camera and zoom. Really great sound work in this. Whoa new camera and editor?
Jonathan Mitchell Not to say Neil was bad or anything, but the new guy does awesome job. Great shots everywhere.
Jonathan Mitchell According to Chris' Twitter, a company called TrackdayFilms stepped in to help with shooting and the editing. I'm guessing Neil wasn't available at the time.
Nope not a new sub. It's not the camera angle that was new. It was the style of the whole program.
Some seriously physical driving there. Always impressive Chris.
Damn this video was well put together and filmed, good work!
In love with that vehicle.. brilliantly driven and perfect commentary.. set the standard for my hopes and ambitions Chris.
Flopped A levels.... Aaaand oh look Chris uploaded a video
HAHAH same here brotha
Sheroze Mohammed Priorities man, priorities!!
ههههههه
Same here 😂
A levels are some kind of exam ?
Chris has some serious drifting skills putting expensive machinery on the edge of control. Great shots where you could actually see the adrenaline rush in his facial expression. Those who haven't done this, don't know what they are missing!

REALLY LOVE THIS Road Car GT12
5:39 that scene is so good
I smile involuntarily when I watch this videos thank you

was expecting neil's name to pop up..:( where's Neil,Chris?
Gonçalo Ferreira i like this music better. 5:39 is scene that is fucking good
Stunning cinematography, Chris you have a winner! Blown away by this!
Best car journalist, end of.
I've watched your videos for 8 years and this is one of my favorite
So much want!
I lost it when he started whipping it about. The noise that engine makes and the way Chris drives this thing was just so much fun.
why aren't you one of the new Topgear presenters. You really deserve a top job.
Anthony Johnson maybe because here he can do and say what he likes - concentrate on driving the best cars for real enthusiasts, and not doing stupid stunts having his every move scrutinised on the BBC like Clarkson :|
Anthony Johnson
nah, fuck top gear, fuck the bbc, it's a dinosaur who's time was up anyway
Anthony Johnson Because being a "Topgear presenter" would be a downgrade for Chris. Topgear's for kids.
Sooooooooooo frigin GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice job Chris, beautifully done.
Did he said "proper car! proper FUCK! " at 09.42 ?? I LMFAO !! hahaha
Tula Pitutacha listened to it twice, on the second I heard thug
there's something magical about Aston Martin v12 just fantabulously majestic!!!
Mr. Musk, you simply cannot match this regardless how amazing your cars might be in future.
Aston Martin: Pollutes the air with shitty sounding exhaust notes that little dick males think sounds cool
Tesla: Cars can fart and play ice cream truck sounds using speaker.

Epic once again... Chris Harris for car journalist of the year☝️
starting to feel that astons are outdated in terms of design
EE DRAKEDOG Not looking at this car... Do you want the ugly ass futuristic bubble style?
nogeniuos no more like porsches timeless design
Oh i gotcha, porsche really has kept the same design for many years now haha but why change it if it doesn't need changing?
Ben Ewart yes indeed lets take out the design its still a great car but it could improve even more starting with a dual clutch at least
nogeniuos imo its still ok i just said its "starting" , the car needs just some small improvements to give it a "fresh" look nothing big. for example take the jaguar f type, such a refreshing car in all aspects to the older models

I take it back though. Looks like a bloody riot!
stoppsi No idea what a chav is, but I agree the colour scheme was hideous. Glorious car though.
stoppsi It's a racing car for the road, it's not made for you to pose outside the Dorchester.
Generation switch alert. Aston have to appeal to more than pensioners raiding their lump sums
Cheers,Chris, you are one hell of a driver in almost anything you get behind the wheel of. I must also say your reviews are superb, hitting all the key points. Keep the sticky side down mate.
"squeezed 600hp from the v12" eh? lol. Aston really had their work cut out for them...
chrisdblue Well since it's just two Mondeo V6s joined togehter, they had their work cut out for them to make something special out of it... :)
haha I thought the same thing.
chrisdblue Austin isn't even the main engineer don't pick on Austin.
chrisdblue aston.
TassieLorenzo The Mondeo V6 is actually a very good engine and a great place to start from. It was developed by Cosworth don't forget.
This V12 sound makes my day! Thanks from France Chris!!
Too bad they made this car garbage in Forza Horizon 3 :D
roman dulce how bad?
Really bad :) Ints too unstable in S1 and too slow in S2...
What an amazing car. Fantastic Chris. That noise....epic.
A thoroughly pointless machine for rich people. For crying out loud Aston just design a new car!
Super videogame-like shots from the camera in the cabin. Keep up the good work, Chris and the team!
it looks vulgar. completely out of character for an Aston Martin. You do not buy Aston for this. Porsche does it waaaay better.
I thought the same ... before I watched the video. This car is the lunatic Aston, but it's brilliant in its purpose
saratov99 Hey, even gentlemen have one or two nights in their lives where they go completely mad.
then GT3 RS is a MUCH better proposition. this is a collector car period. only Astons collectors would buy them that is why they only make 100 of them. not impressed at all. perfomance is lousy by todays standards. tranny as crappy as ever. and now they ruined the look - best thing about Astons.
saratov99 it's your opinion, man. I think it looks stunning, but would've never taken it over the V12 Vantage S, that is more of an Aston.
also looks meh. Hood vents killing the look. Vanquish is a real Aston.
390k US Dollars (if you could get one)...same price as an Aventador base model. I think I'd have to go aston on that choice. This aston is tough to deny...very cool style, awesome sound, limited production. Strikes me as a bit of an LFA'esque car that will go underrated and not fully appreciated.

It just looks soooo cool going round the track, but Chris drfting the P1, LaFerrari and 918 synchronously was just epic!
Chris Harris please never stop doing what you do one of the best ever car reviewers you need your own show, would gladly pay a subscription just to watch your videos
Thank You
I hate to say this from USA but you Brits are better at car shows then back here in the states. I can watch this all day
wow cinematography is on a new level. Apart from the drone shots the slow zooming from the rear is a new one but effective! keep up the cool vlogs Chris.
Glorious V12 sound, not high pitched or annoying. I can see myself making 10 hour drive just listening to that V12
Some of the best driving I have seen you do. Intense concentration in some of those corners. Great looking / sounding car. Well done Aston and well done Chris yet again for another great video.
What a drive Chris. My heart rate is a little elevated!
I've been watching for a long time, I'll be subscribing to see this stuff.
Make sure everybody pauses ad block for Chris Harris, car videos are not cheap to make and we all appreciate his work.....
Best recent Aston, what a car, looks amazing, sounds amazing, goes amazingly well and it's also super exclusive. Love it.
AMAZING material. I'm subscribed to an infinity of YT channels. For car lovers, this is the best material possible. The driving, the filming, the editing, the writing. All very well done. Great job. Greetings from Brazil.
I never though I could ever said that but...A big wing on an Aston, and it looks good. Just an amazing machine.
That road especially shown off with the helicopter shot is amazing, perfect place for this car and any high profile supercar.
Man I miss this Chris that gave us real in depth look..
Chris, since top gear is gone, you're doing the best presentations, keep on
That V12 is so distinctive.
Lovely video, one of the best since this channel left /Drive. Almost Top-Gear like production values.
Quality is spot on. Amazing video, they all are. Keep it up.
Good job on another test Chris and hopefully we will see you doing more of the same on the West Coast of Canada as we have some excellent roads to enjoy here.
Ken block is good and all, but Chris Harris is something else. Thanks for the upload!!
Ken Block isn't good, though. He can do a few 'drifts' but overall, he is overhyped by the drift scene. Chris Harris and other racing drivers are on another level.
Yeah true. Chris Harris is on another level. Deserves a fucking award or something I swear
Hello Chris,
Just amazing to see you each week from Belgium.
Chris...Hi from Australia. Simple love your work to bits! Thank You
