I attended Sparsholt, The Hampshire College of Agriculture, from 1984 to 1987. For various reasons, I never went into farming, but watching these videos, I wish I had. , but PX is a perfect example. You should all be so proud. I wish I had found you all those years ago. I love watching every video. thank you
A very good update James , you have made Glynn a very happy man with the new Fendt crawler. Watching you & Michael with your wit & banter brings a smile to my face every time. Keep these video's coming James its great to watch and very informative.
Nice to see you have made a new machinery change glen is happy, looking forward to seeing it in work Like watching you and Michael in conversation and the banter between you both Its good to see how other farms work and the talks from your staff Thankyou james
Hello James, just found your channel curtesy of Mr Waffle's. You and cousin Michael together are a double act. I'm still chuckling as I write this! Love seeing the big kit and look forward to following you throughout the coming year
Don’t think James realised what he was getting into when he suggested walking to the Drill, you made that look hard work very amusing, really like your videos by the way.
james the banter between you and michael is priceless, well worth watching just for that alone. keep up the good work and banter. really am enjoying your informative videos. thank you.
I'm amazed at the scale of the operation ,and the fact that James is pushing on with the family business love the channel wish you all well guys from Ireland 🇮🇪👍
Another great video James. I had a father like yours, was certain he had a grin on his face when dumping something or walking past a piece of rubbish such as string and not picking it up, bless him. Your comment on Roundup is about hammer on nail correct., one of the safest products we use, in fact safer than Nicotine and Table salt. When drilling starts the anticipation of the new seedlings emerging is one of the best feelings in agriculture, love it. Would love to see you and Harry Metcalfe (Harry's Farm) discussing farming from two perspectives.
As a non farmer (who wishes he was 😊😊) love the content to which the public get's educated from where peoples food comes from and the banter yourself and cousin micheal has is brilliant keep up the great work ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Evening James ,trust you are well. Watching your channel for some time its increasingly evident that you are really fortunate to have a team of first rate guys. No doubt it helps to make a challenging job a little easier
Thankyou James, as always a great video. Good to see the drill running well putting oats in. The challenger has served you well, what a cracking machine. I enjoy the banter between you and Michael. As I have said before, you , Michael and Andrew Ward should get together and do a video discussing the life of a farmer. Once again, thank you James, looking forward to Sundays update.
James and Michael together is like watching Eric and Ernie 😂😂. Hope to see lots of in cab footage from the new Fendt. I dread to think what it cost you James. 14 seasons out of the Challenger is amazing.
Hi James I think you and Mr ward paint a real picture of day to day farm life and what is really happening. I do agree with you about trying products or anything really in case it works. Have every thought about being a dealer for farm machinery or even design your own products.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to make these such interesting and professional videos. One this I would say could improve your videos would be some drone footage of the machinery at work. With such an impressive fleet it would be great to see them at work
Great video again! We’ve been told that BASF are hoping to get label approval within the next couple of weeks to use Liberator on oats again for grass weeds, fingers crossed as we need something!
It's me again. Just to say, the reason cousin Michael is wearing a vest, common knowledge when your losing body mass you feel the cold more. It's a good job you filmed him face on as sideways we woudn't have seen him. I love the video content and luck foreward to them coming out. Thanks.
Hi Jamie excellent video as you say if we lost glyphosate it would a disaster for arable farming in this country. But who are these people who decide this they're not farmer's !! We've had to stop growing oil seed rape because we can't control the flea beetle, and also using more insecticide to do a less efficient job 🤔 Did you run articulated tractors in the past when you referred to big four-wheel drive tractors ? And when you commented in the past the John Deere 2850 was one of your favourite tractors from year's back you went up on a pedestal in my estimations😜👌👍
Another great video James and I think the 1167 was inevitable you just need a replacement for the unimog and it’s a good idea to sign write the wheelbarrow 👍👍
Recent subscriber , great channel , love the crawlers , cat/ class/ challenger and now fendt, great machine, better than wheels and 4x tracks, shame they don't still come badged as challenger colours
We have seen the same with the chaff spreader, it looks like we are running a 6 m combine, it seems as though the seed in the chaff is all getting thrown to the max width.
Hi James and team, thank you for another interesting and informative video . I’m from a farming family myself and like the idea of the controlled traffic system. I have 2 questions for you. How long does it take to get the land into a controlled traffic system? I understand that your controlled traffic system works on multiples of 3m and you travel the same intermittent tramlines through primary and secondary cultivations, drilling and combining but how does the 24m rolls fit into those tramlines? I understand that anything smaller than 12m like the plough or subsoiler is removing compaction just unsure if you have to have another set of wheelings for the rolls? Thank you for taking the time to read my questions
@@roberthoward3723 you are correct there I can recall working a te 20 diesel Ferguson leading beet 12 hrs a day they stood it that’s all we had and them little tractors pulled 4ton a beet in Brooke’s trailers to beet machines standon tankers both pulled by 135 tractors we grew 200 arces still got it up long days but long gone
I think you should have waited and got a xerion 12.650 on demo before buying the fendt. It’ll out preform it in every way! Regardless of that still awesome machines!
Hope the on trailer seed dresser worked ok. Could you explain to the wider non farming public the regulations around dressing seed on the farm and the requirement for testing of operators and equipment as this prevents smaller farms from doing this. Outside of Europe these regulations don't seem to exist. Great videos.
Excellent video again James.. I see you buckled to Glynn's pressure and he got his way and 1167 Fendt is No1 in the fleet.. Out of interest, is there much difference between the build spec of Cat and Fendt crawlers .
Great update. I am intrigued to know why you have two different Horsch drill set ups/concepts with the disc Serto and band sowing tine Sprinter. From what I understand both drills will work on the same prepped ground. Given the Sprinter takes a lot more pulling compared to the Serto I wonder why you have a Sprinter? Its it because it is better on heavy ground or getting Beans in deeper. Maybe that drill will go in wet conditions that the Serto won't. Just curious!
Great piece James and Team - One area you have not mentioned (or i have missed) is how you monitor soil nutrient status and how you correct deficiencies. Do you apply much TSP, DAP or MOP? Have you considered placement of starter fertilisers when you drill?
Your comments re Glyphosate As a farmer in the Canadian prairie I couldn’t agree more. At today’s scale of farming, with a narrow seeding window and very limited staff availability if we lost the ability to use glypho pre-seed I’m not sure how we could maintain yields. Bear in mind we use glypho as carefully as possible already because of the risk of resistance and no longer grow RR Canola.
Watching sandy come past with the drill is the green stripes from the ends of the combine header belts it’s definitely under the straw and again at the ends of the header is it one combine or all of them?
Do you think ploughing fields in a rotation aspect alongside minimum cultivation would be beneficial for soil structure and be beneficial for supporting fertile ground.?
It seems to me that for all the land that you farm brilliantly well, you don,t mention any stone damage, so I have to assume that all of your land must be stone free, which has to be a godsend in its own right.
Hi James I would love to win the hat and come and have a tour of the yard the Graveley farmland you look after is where I grew up I'm really interested in what goes on. Great channel keep up the good content 👍
Channels like these that are everything the BBC / countryfile should be !
Absolutely have no clue why you don’t have hundreds of thousands of followers I’m not a farmer but I really enjoy your content
Your channel deserves so much more exposure, you give out lots of important information and knowledge.

The difference between rich corporate style farming and the Funky Farmer dairy farming is immense. Learning more from all Farmer TH-camrs every week.

Put some OKO in each drill wheel James.
Saves down time on punctures. Did it to my Vadestadt due to similar issues years ago. Paul
The next owner of the 865 getting a well maintained and serviced machine
He’s got a vest on and you’ve got a flippin’ fleece on😂😂
Two heavyweights walking across the field, completely disregarding the CTF. :)
On holiday in Greece at the moment James, but still take time out to watch your great content. Always look forward to another episode of PX 😊😊😊
Glad TH-cam has afforded you a new 1167. Brilliant videos and looking forward to seeing the drilling in full action.

Love the new fendt. Just been in the new claas quad. Youll have one of those soon im sure!
Great informative video and again have learnt so much about farming and the pitfuls and gains, great again
brilliant video james. glad to hear your exp with the challenger was a pleasant one. confident the 1167 will match it . best of luck. 👍

Listening to you 2 walking across the field puffing and panting 😂😂 great content though love watching you have some good farms and excellent staff
Another cracking vid James and team. Nice to see decent weather to get cracking on next years crops. Happy days from wales 🏴
Great update. Lots going on. Hopefully it stays dry for a few weeks!

Loved my Challenger 45 when I was 17 working on a local estate for the summer
Shame I can't upload a picture

I can't believe you still went for the Fendt as Chandlers didn't supply you with a new wheelbarrow 😂 Another great video James.
So much better than country file .
As always superb so informative as always, hope Freddie recovers quickly, and your relinquished to the New Fendit lol what a boss you are.

Pity about my spelling.
Hi James, could we have an in-depth look at the new Fendt? Love the content!
With you're self and waddies waffle maker a great team in farming many thanks

Dads allowed to drive you potty, it’s interest on what you put him and your mother through ❤
Great video again James just love the banter. Would the chaff problem be a wind compensation setting ?
Hi James great video nice to see you drilling lads still combining here north Lincolnshire
I was wondering why you don’t keep the 865 for spare, but then saw it advertised for £89,500!! What the heck do they cost new?!
Well a fendt 728 is in the region of 250k 😬
Another great update. Thankyou
Another cracking video again james cheers.
The harder a tractors worked the better service it gives, after 52 years of selling them I can testify - well done

Did you ever have a Case quad track or how would they compare to the crawlers
Loving your channel and the detail you go into makes it very interesting, can I ask how many hectares have you turned over to SFI..?
Your comments re Glyphosate

What's the single biggest field that you work on (how many acres/hectares) ?
As always, great to see another video 👌
Were you driving the combine in that field James?
How many hours on the 865?
Well that escalated quickly 😂
Thought you were keeping the 865 as a backup machine?
Found this a few weeks ago by chance love the content. Is the old aero drone just off the a14 anything to do with you.
No
Did you have a side wind the day you were harvesting that field
Will the big Fendt last 14 seasons?
Those losses definitely look header related.
Two portly blokes trying to look fit strutting across the fields 😊
Me and my boy would love a tour of your farm we do come up your way as have family in Huntingdon we are down ner Winchester farming background

What are you going to get to replace the Mercedes unimog the jcb would be a good replacement sprayed px farms green though
You can see cousin Michaels keen to get some crops in so he can get some chemicals on 😂😅🤣
Just sat down in my shed to watch this away from kids and the ever demanding wife. Bliss!!
The Claas quad would be a superior choice over the Fendt two track.
In your shop have you got Green Socks like you had on with Cousin Michael at your Weighing
Gutted about the hats. 😢. Next time 💪🏻
I find lexion throws it down the right side of the straw
Have you seen the laser weeders in the USA? might be worth a look if glyphosate is banned.
Your hedge cutter guys will love you for chucking that rubble in bottom of hedge 🙄
You've lost that much weight James You've had to get a new gilet for yourself 😮
