The country and family you're born into, matters of sheer luck, are the greatest variables to predict how successful you'll be in life. I'm baffled at how people keep ignoring this.

Luck example : The boy from Africa who was adopted by Madonna.
Look at the country he was born and the family he was born into.
      Not much variables there.

As important it is to have ambitions, learning to appreciate life at the moment, even in the smallest ways, should be promoted more often. The thing is, “good” and “bad” “luck” does exist. Anyone can die tomorrow, yet we still take it for granted. Learn to think about tomorrow, learn from yesterday but also but appreciate the good bits of today.

Luck definitely is the foundation for everything. It changes as time goes by. The way our brain functions based on biology, environment, trends, etc. have a huge impact on how people live their lives. If you took every living person today, went back 100 years ago and switched them with people during that time period, everyone’s luck would change. Depends on whether you are able to adapt or not.

Hard work, perseverance, aptitude, and desire mean next to nothing unless and until you chance upon the circumstances which facilitate achieving goals. For every successful person there are millions more who work just as hard, and are as skilled who will never happen upon those defining moments. That is why luck is the most important factor. There are even people who never try at all but simply find themselves in the right place at the right time. Perhaps secondarily important to this definition of "lucky" is being extroverted or gregarious. Success in nearly any endeavor requires other people and if you aren't inclined to socializing or reaching out, you are unlikely to find yourself with many opportunities. There are many who have little to no skill and don't apply what small effort they can muster yet still find themselves incredibly fortunate.
The irony is that those who are the most monetarily wealthy generally rely the most on other people to do all of the actual hard work required to generate such wealth. For example, Jeff Bezos of Amazon would not have amassed such obscene wealth if not for all the poorly treated warehouse workers being exploited for their labor to generate profit. The Walton family of Wal-Mart renown would not be billionaires if not for the desperation of those who work in their establishments for poverty wages.
Nearly all successful people think that their own merits have been the most important factors in achievement but this is rarely reflective of reality.

My simpleminded, subjective experience in this specific realm is that luck does seem to exist.
Though I am not well off, born into priviledge, or radically lucky, I have noticed that I tend to get away, often narrowly, with an unusual amount of things without experiencing the worst of life, when perhaps I deseved it... I've had a few friends shake their heads, stare, and laughingly curse at me more than a couple of times for being so lucky; even with little stuff.
I should've died a coule of times when I was young.
I've been blessed with windfalls such as inheriting a car at just the right time (riding a bus down the street 4 miles takes me literally 2 hours in my area (it's a life-changer/job-ender)), not getting caught for a FEW things at my old career (insider trading; moving pieces around that I was sworn not to touch and skimming large corporate profits... they've fixed these certain loopholes since and you can't get away with what I once did) that would've wrecked my life if caught (more than 10 years in prison), getting let off for drunk driving by, perhaps, the only cop in the state, who would've done so, getting little bits of money at just the right time, etc.
Maybe I just paid attention to these things and this kind of stuff happens to everyone. But a part of me wonders if it isn't a tiny bit odd, I guess. I've had friends all around me go down in HORRIBLE flames for doing far less, just one single time, without any second chances, for things Ive done dozens of times. They've also worked ten times harder, for far less compared to me (people like a good friend of mine who is walking to a 70 hr work week in the freezing cold every day while living with his mother).
There are also those who have it much better than I (friends with giant trusts, etc). But idk... I guess I just imagine how horrible it would be to get brought down for every tiny mistake or just to be incredibly unlucky in life... someone perhaps like Job, from the Bible... Yaknow?

I still think that some people are destined to have nothing and come from nothing. When a crisis counselor tells you that they would want to kill themselves as well if they were in your shoes. That's when you know you have chronic bad luck. Based on the world I could say I was lucky to be born in America. But to parents that didnt want me and I've only ever been in very abusive and controlling relationships. You start to think your cursed for some reason. Does karma only come in bad?!? Cause for all the good and positive energy I put out I dont get good karma in return. Only bad.

Luck is an optional word. It depends on who you are speaking to and what you are speaking about or if your mind is independent or time does play into your hand.
Person that is well dressed but is feeling unlucky asking you in a matter of statistic with a confident voice ,,Do you feel lucky?´´ At that moment you will feel probably like an unlucky person.
Person that is dressed badly, smells bad and seems ill will ask you with a shaken voice ,,Do you feel lucky?´´ In that moment you will feel lucky.
That I would call... ,,feel lucky,,.
When you do your work and you are lucky you can feel lucky but there is no second influence. State of luck.
Then there is pure luck. Luck is just a short word for specific things happening all around you coming together to you that are influencing your world to a more positive state of your mind.

If you're focused on what's happening in your life, who is doing what, who is coming in and why and existing and why. you can start to notice patterns. Event very complex patterns, and patterns that extend to more than a year away. You have to be willing to practice attentiveness to understand luck is a very old superstition.
