Oh my goodness you’re such an excellent presenter. And your content and instructions are so helpful. I think you’re a natural born teacher and you could be paid for designing and presenting videos. Thanks so much I really needed this exact information and the confidence you’ve given me.
I didn’t know that the valve part came apart. I use a chopstick with a soft cloth around it and it does the job. You have an excellent video. Thanks Aloha
Omg thank you! I have an instant pot mini and I ALWAYS have crud in that narrow crevice on the top. I've tried using a wet paper towel but it didn't do as nice of a job as I wanted! I'm going to find a brush like that! Thank you!
Good question! The silicone sealing ring really absorbs odors while cooking, especially when you're making flavorful dishes like chicken broth or most other savory recipes. If you store the ring inside the lid, tightly sealed in the pot, it doesn't get a chance to air out, which makes it harder to get rid of those lingering smells. To avoid transferring any unwanted flavors, I go even further and recommend having extra sealing rings-one for savory dishes and another for sweeter ones. That way, you won't end up with garlic or chicken flavor in your yogurt, cheesecake, ricotta cheese, or rice pudding🙂.
I always try to be ready with the deglazing process if when cooking or after. I've got to the point I always use liquid Bar Keeper's Friend on stainless steel when hand washing, more times than not when you're clean and dry you'll need to use it anyway so I just use it to begin with. With staining of stainless steel one can also use a vinegar on discolored interior. Good tips and tricks.✌😊
The outside of the pot shouldn't really get dirty. It's not touching the food and it's inside the Instant Pot, so it's very well protected. Unless I'm not understanding your question. If for whatever reason it does get dirty, wash it the same way as you would the inside of the pot, dish soap in most cases or use the Bar Keeper's friend if it's really dirty. Or do you mean the actual Instant Pot itself?
The area around my instapot got dirty and I felt the bottom needed to be cleaned. I moistened a paper towel with soapy water and wrung it out then wiped some of the bottom making sure to stay well away from the 5 groups of slots. Then I used a paper towel dampened with water to remove any possible soap residue. I hope this was an ok thing to do. (I should have wrung out my towels better.) It does make me nervous because I’m anxious about electrical appliances. If it hadn’t gotten extremely dirty under the pot (germs actually) I would never have cleaned the bottom.
I would like you to address cheese that has stuck to the chamber of the Instant Pot. I had made an excellent cauliflower and cheese soup. I used Sharp Cheddar and Monterey Jack. After removing the soup from the pot, I could tell it would be difficult to remove the cheese. I soaked the pot with dishwashin soap and let it soak for about two hours. (I wish I had thought of using baking soda before using a steel pad, as shown in your video!) Still, im wondering if a soft cheese, such as the Monterey Jack, is the problem? Thanks. This an excellent video!
9:29 If you look at the pot during this time in the video, that was from making instant pot Macaroni and Cheese. Wash as much of it as you can with water, dish soap, scrape off as much as you can with a wooden spoon. You can turn on the sauté function if it helps. Then I use the stainless steel scouring pad, just like I show in the video. It takes everything off perfectly.
The latter - I don’t deep clean it every time, just once in a while when it needs it. Otherwise, I just clean the inner pot and the lid, wipe off the outside if needed. It doesn’t require too much effort usually.
Not so easy to clean inner pot when they have written quantity levels, not embossed like yours. Meaning you can't use anything to abrasive, to get off more stubborn food.

I really appreciate you saying that! 😊 I’m so glad you enjoyed the video.

Thank you! What a great helpful video. I didn’t even know that you can remove valves out ! 😅
So glad it was helpful:)

Why store the ring away from the pot? Great video thanks!

@@OlgasFlavorFactory That makes sense! Thanks for the tip!

The black cap you took off does that come off all pots and pans SnapBack on ? 10:31
Where did you bought the small brush? Love your videos! Great tips as always!
I’ll add links in the description and to my website.
How do you clean the bottom-outside bottom of the pot? With some reason looks like time being some things cumulated there too

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thank you 💐
You’re welcome!
do you have to clean all those parts after each time you use it? Or do you clean the inner pot after each time and the rest of the unit when needed?

How can you remove cheese from the pot when it sticks to the bottom and sides
I am having a hard time getting the ring back in there
Yes, that’s very common. Since it’s a silicone material and has to fit in tightly, it is a bit of a challenge.
Not so easy to clean inner pot when they have written quantity levels, not embossed like yours. Meaning you can't use anything to abrasive, to get off more stubborn food.
Embossing makes it easier, but the bottom is what needs the most cleaning. I hardly ever have to scrub the sides very hard.
