Thank you so much! I don't like cleaning (ironic from a channel called Real Organized, I know), but I love organizing! And when making family meals run as smooth as possible I use the instant pot A LOT! :) Something else I use a lot in the kitchen is the Blendtec blender. Anybody else love their Blendtec??? Thanks for another great video!
Hi Melissa! My favorite meal in the instant pot is Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork from adventures of a nurse blog. I also have a couple things I found when learning some things about how to clean it. Those foam "paint brushes" that come to a triangle tip work well for cleaning around the locking mechanism. Another thing is to have at least two silicone rings, one for sweet and one for savory to avoid having cross contamination of scents/flavors. :)
Great video! We have two Instant Pots-a 3 qt. and a 6 qt. I’m usually using one of them at least 3 to 4 times per week. My favorite quick recipes are these: chuck roast and potatoes, beef stew, chicken stew, spaghetti with a ground beef & marinara sauce, potato salad, mashed potatoes, chili-well, you get the picture-a lot of favorites! Lately, I’m using it more & more to bake, since it is so consistently good and quick.
THANK YOU for actually giving a genuine deep clean! I've watched several "deep clean" videos today that are woefully lacking. Yours addressed all of my areas of concern. Thanks!!! 🎉🎉🎉
My husband loves making IP Pho, it’s so quick and the meat gets really tender. The IP is so magical! By the way, if you didn’t know, the top is also dishwasher safe. This is how I wash my IP: I put the top, pot, and steam catcher in the dishwasher. Make sure to remove the release valve and silicone for a better clean. And when it’s done, I wipe it dry and shake the top just in case some water gets stuck in the machine. It’s so easy. I just wish that I know about the two-in-one IP + Airfryer so I didn’t have to buy both!
I can’t wait to do the vinegar cook for the sealing ring. I store the lid open and upside down, which helps. Also, I have a spare ring for sweet dishes and use the original for savory dishes, since it retained the savory odors. Thanks soooo much for addressing this. I was one of those asking for IP ring cleaning info.
If you store with the lid upside down the ring does not retain odours as much - also throw it out in the sun for a natural bleaching. Never have smells.
I love my Instant Pot, but I don’t use it a lot because I work nights, mostly. My 2 favorite things to do in it, though, are a roast, and a goulash type of dish...but not together. lol After the ‘goulash’ was done cooking, and it had finished releasing the steam, I stirred it all in, sprinkled mozzarella cheese on top, and closed the lid for a few minutes, giving the cheese time to melt some. It was delicious! It’s easy. Thanks for the cleaning video. I think you went into more detail than Six Sisters did, and you showed that we can get the lid wetter than I thought I could. Thanks, again!
Thanks for this! Pulled pork, shredded beef and chili con carne are favourites Instantpot recipes. I bought several different dry rubs spice mixes for the meat, they are great! I also got some liquid smoke and it make such a difference to beef roasts!
Thank you for this video. It looks like everyone that has an instant pot should have an extra set of silicone rings for the lid. Favorite recipe right now for the IP is Baby Back ribs. That might change when I start using it to make Pho, Ramen, or Stroganoff, though.
I have tried to look up how to clean my Instant pot but have never been satisfied with the tips I got so thank you so much for this video but it was really helpful!
Great methods! Do you have a video on how to clean a juicer? Mine has mineral buildup that does not come off with regular soap detergent and scrub efforts.
Very helpful. My husband loves making chilli, I wish we had a bigger version so we can save some for later. I’m about to make some pulled pork tonight 💕 thank you!
To get all of the silicone ring clean, steam with the ring detached and submerged. I called the company and everything but the base goes in the dishwasher. That means the kid as well. OMG. I meant lid. Lid. Not kid.
Thanks for the cleaning share, exactly what I do to clean , but I had my first scorch tonight when I made beef stew😬 I didn’t deglaze properly and it would not pressurize and I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. So I finished on the stove and was starving. So important to deglaze after sautéing you’re beef❣️❣️✨💖
Thank you!!! I am vegan (sort of) and use my Instant Pot for virtually everything and definitely have not been cleaning it properly. Do I miss meat? Sometimes, but this is working for me (read: lots of beans):) love your channel.
I use an old-fashioned pressure cooker. Our favorite thing is to cook beans for homemade refried beans. After soaking the beans for an hour, I pressure cook them for 15 minutes...done! (I add spices and veggies to the pot prior to the pressure cooking too.)
I LOVE my instant pot so much I bought two. The best thing I like to make is fall off the bone ribs, rice, yogurt, veggies, roast, cheesecakes, lasagna, lentil soups, baked beans and stew. I love making anything!
Yogurt Greek style. I do the cold start in canning jars. No clean up! Camel Sauce from sweetened condensed milk. Cooks right in the can..no clean up again. My steel cut oats with fruits and nuts for a week forth of breakfast.
I love my Instant Pot and have had it since they first came out, so I've made many, many different recipes in it. My favorite, though, is Japanese Beef Curry, which is also a big hit with my friends. Also, if you put white vinegar in the bottom of the pot after cleaning, it comes out sparkling!
My favorite is soups. Everyday I use my instant pot to make a rice and bean mixture to feed to my chickens I add table scaps on top. It cuts cost down on feed, so we are both happy☺
I dont own an instant pot, but I loved the video. Very detailed :D Although I do not think people are going to take that much time to clean the pot after each use. I wish you shared maybe an easy, quick, detailed but not so detailed approach to doing this... For the future when I do get one 😅 Thanks anyways! 👍
Thanks so much for sharing this awesome video 👍🏼❤️ I too love the instant pot. My favorite recipes to cook in it are: ➡️ lentil soups, ➡️ chicken & bean curries and ➡️ rice recipes👍🏼💕
Macaroni and Cheese. Can be found on TH-cam under "The Creamiest Instant Pot Mac and Cheese ." Only thing I do differently than the recipe is that I add a lot more cheese - at least one cup more, but that's because my 17 year old is a cheese fiend. :) It is posted by "Six Sisters" who post an Instant Pot recipe every Monday. So far, I've tried many of them, and they are great. Highly recommended.
My favorite thing to make in the instant pot (I heave a Mealthy which is exact same but better) is bone broth and stews. So many things I’ve made in it. It’s my favorite cooking appliance.
I make a beef stew that is very keto. With the InstantPot on sear, I sear some cubes of beef that are first dry seasoned first with oregano, thyme and a little salt and pepper on all sides and then remove it. I like to use bacon fat, to sear or cook with but use olive oil if you like. Bacon fat is low carb and really enhances the flavors of many foods. Note: Because I don't use any flour, this is not going to end up being very saucy but hey, I'm keeping the carbs very low. Next I sear up some white onion with some garlic. Throw some mushrooms in with the onions to enhance the flavor of the mushrooms when searing the onions. Next I add my broth and vegetables (being sure to use a plastic spatula to scrape the good stuff off the bottom): some carrots and celery and instead of small potatoes, I use a bunch of small radishes with the stems and roots cut off. Cooked radishes no NOT taste like raw radishes. They have very little flavor and, believe it or not, do not taste much different than potatoes and do not have all the carbs of potatoes. Throw the beef back in and set the InstantPot on manual for 25 minutes. That's it. Wait 10 minutes for the pressure to reduce and release the pressure release valve if you're ready to serve it. The longer you wait the more "fall apart" the beef gets which I do not prefer but that's up to you. The sooner you get the left overs into the fridge, the better it will taste. I Like to portion it up and freeze it for lunches to take to work. It's low carb and tastes great.
I was cleaning it but I was looking for the deep cleaning method that you use any soaking the parts and give it thorough cleaning and drying on a mat .
The crumbs where the interlocking of the lid drove me crazy and I feel like i could never clean it good enough...using a cleaning tooth brush for that is genuis!! I love making taco soup in mine...also boiled eggs
I still use my paternal G-ma's old pressure cooker it's 60 yrs old, works great and I love it. It's the original Instant pot. If it aint broke, don't fix it, or change it.
Hey Melissa I appreciate this video, but I have a question. Do you have a video on how to clean an air conditioner and heater? Do you know of a way to clean the coils inside of the A/C? If you can find an owner's manual for your furnace and air conditioner, it may explain how to clean them. Cleaning furnaces is considered general maintenance so I would expect a manual to explain the process.
I soak black beans overnight, then I rinse the beans, add clean water and put it in the Instapot to pressure cook. The beans come out like a stew, just perfect. Season to taste.
What was that all purpose cleaner you had in that sweater matching spray bottle? Loved your detailed video. Also love that sweater. Will shamefully admit that it was not that title that grabbed my attention to this video, you are a head turner.
I have a suggestion and question aside from this video. Suggestion - how to clean Dacor gas range and gas range hood Question - I’ve been enjoying your book but wondering does your DIY disinfectant from the videos replace the need for a brand name one with EPA registration as suggested in the book? I love my Instant Pot, BUT I love my Ninja Foodi soooooooooo much more. It's a pressure cooker and airfryer in one!! My model also dehydrates. I was definitely missing the crispiness with my Instant Pot meals, but my Ninja Foodi took care of that!!
Love to make korean beef, pork chops, hard boiled eggs, creme brullee, cheesecakes are great, but had to stop making them they were going to waist. Thanks for cleaning will do today
It's not a recipe ~~~~ but making Hard boiled eggs is my favorite thing to make. Hands down it makes it effortless and easy to keep on hand for us protein lovers!
An air fryer is a pain in the butt! Burnt on food, soak in vinegar for awhile. I hv a cheapo air fryer. If has a well at the bottom where the grease from the meat drips into. I line that well with aluminum foil to catch the grease. Makes that clean up easier.
shelby clark I had mine for almost a year before I got enough courage to try it and now I’m obsessed !!! Thanks to TH-cam and Pinterest for recipes. Clean up is simple. When it gets cloudy looking after I make starchy food so I soak in some vinegar with baking soda and dish soap and problem solved. I ordered colored silicon rings on Amazon and use different colors for different type of meals. I hang the clean rings in patio and the sun helps with the cumin/curry odor I couldn’t get rid of.
I go to 2 places for instant pot recipes. One is Six sister's.com. She has a new IP recipe every Monday. The other is Pressure Luck. From Pressure luck I made champaign chicken, tho I substituted dry white wine. Great recipe! Six sisters has meat loaf and potatoes cooked together in the IP. Thats great too. I had the on the stove pressure cooker since dinasaurs roamed the earth. (Over 40 yrs). The IP is sooo much easier. Hit the button and forget it. One tip, store the lid upside down. Those smells that get into the silicone ring go away. I use my IP at least twice a week. Tonight I am making chicken tortilla soup. The on the stove recipe takes about 1 hour to cook, not counting the prep. It takes about 20 min in the IP. Yr gonna love it. Oh!, cook rice in it. Its faster and better than a rice cooker.
I am vegan so only ever use my IP for veg and fruit. I have found that cruciferous vegetables discolour the silicone seal and it retains an awful pungent odour. I have tried several things to reduce the smell but nothing really works. I am, therefore, excited to try the steam method but need clarification. Since I have only ever used the manual button, do you actually use the steam button?
A chair!! I’m wanting to get rid of it so it will force me to do something with my clothes!! But I’ve also got a treadmill in my bedroom so I fear it will be the new recipient of all the clothes!! 😂😂
I make bulk amounts of shredded chicken in my instant pot all the time. Just 3lbs of frozen chicken and some broth for 30 minutes and then I shred it with the paddle attachment on my KitchenAid, portion it out and freeze what I don't need
Is an instant pot also know as a pressure cooker (Im form UK)if it is a pressure cooker then they make me nervous of them. I have heard one explode in my house when I was a kid. Did have to use a fork to release the pressure so that might of been the reason for it and u would think they have come a long way over the past 25 years
Beefkilz: Yes, an Instant Pot is an electric pressure cooker. You no longer need to put on the stove top and worry about pressure “blowing the lid off”! Had that happen once when I was young as well. New ones have lots of built-in safety features. Like any tool, treat it with respect and it will work great for many, many years.
COMMENT QUESTION: What's your favorite instant pot recipe?
Clean My Space RIBS! Absolutely delish!
Mississippi Pot Roast....google it! It is amazing and makes great sandwiches with the leftovers.
i know its lame but we make a LOT of rice! I Love the ease of it, we have 7 mouths, all grown children.
Lentils!!!
Mac n cheese!!!

Yes!!! Just what I needed. Been procastinating this because I didn't know how to clean it ... Thank you!
If you store with the lid upside down the ring does not retain odours as much - also throw it out in the sun for a natural bleaching. Never have smells.
Great tip!
Throwing it out in the sun will likely shorten the lifetime of the ring. Ie accelerates crack formation/propagation
I received a gift this Christmas and want to clean it correctly. Thank you so much. Blessings, from Houston
I love my Instant Pot, but I don’t use it a lot because I work nights, mostly. to anyone who doesnt have an instant pot: GET ONE. its AMAZING.
I just got one this week and I love it!
Ninja Foodi is better because it does all the same stuff plus has an air fryer
I second that.... Ninja Foodi is so much better.
Is the Foodi better than the regular air fryer if you already have both? I tried watching a video comparing the Foodi to a regular air fryer but..
Love this, I have one and am intimidated too, can you do videos on how to use and some recipes you use would be so helpful. Thanks again xx
I have the same instapot as you do, and I love it. I have used mine to make roasts, eggs and lots of soups and chili.
Thank you for this cleaning tutorial. I will use this information to clean my IP from now on.
Thanks for this!
Pulled pork, shredded beef and chili con carne are favourites Instantpot recipes. I bought several different dry rubs spice mixes for the meat, they are great! I also got some liquid smoke and it make such a difference to beef roasts!

I have tried to look up how to clean my Instant pot but have never been satisfied with the tips I got so thank you so much for this video but it was really helpful!
Your video was a lot more professionally presented and detailed than the instant pot website
I second the Philips Air Fryer how to clean video! Thanks!!
Thank you so much!!! We all don't read the manual when we first get our wonderful INSTANT POT. YOU ROCK!!!
Great tips & I absolutely love the instant pot, as I'm a one pot cooker.
Greetings from South Africa
Greetings from Canada! Thanks for watching Alicia :)
A cleaning channel, amazing. This is what Monica (Friends) would definitely would have made.
Thank you!!!!! 😊 I'm using my instant pot tonight and can't wait to clean it properly.
I just bought one and I have been waiting to use it until we move into our new home. Seeing this makes me want to send it back though.
Toothbrush? Yup! It's going back. Thank you!
My favorite thing to make in my Instant Pot is Sesame Chicken! I just made it again tonight!
Great methods! Do you have a video on how to clean a juicer? Mine has mineral buildup that does not come off with regular soap detergent and scrub efforts.
I didn’t know you could get the lid wet!!
Ahhhhh!!! Finally!!! 💜
Question do you not pop off the silicone cover and pop out the pin and clean that part?
Very helpful. My husband loves making chilli, I wish we had a bigger version so we can save some for later.
I’m about to make some pulled pork tonight 💕 thank you!
To get all of the silicone ring clean, steam with the ring detached and submerged.
I called the company and everything but the base goes in the dishwasher. That means the kid as well. OMG. I meant lid. Lid. Not kid.
Good info and entertaining typo.... we know you meant lid but it says kid... put the kid in the dishwasher.😂😂😂 anyway, thanks for the info!
So to get it to steam with the ring detached and submerged, you would need a spare ring. I got one because the smell of the original one was bad.
Oh my gosh, that is funny. I went a little cross-eyed for second. LOL!
Ahahahhaha best comment ever
Thanks for the morning laugh...... lid, not kid!!!!!!
What all purpose cleaner do you use?
I haven't used mine a whole lot yet, but my whole family really enjoyed lazy lasagna. It was amazing
Thanks for the cleaning share, exactly what I do to clean , but I had my first scorch tonight when I made beef stew😬 I didn’t deglaze properly and it would not pressurize and I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. Yogurt Greek style. I do the cold start in canning jars. No clean up! Camel Sauce from sweetened condensed milk. Cooks right in the can..no clean up again. My steel cut oats with fruits and nuts for a week forth of breakfast.
Was waiting for this :D

I too love the instant pot.

Thank you so much for this! My pressure cooker is starting to get grimy this is perfect!
Thanks for watching Hailey!
I’m so impressed with myself. I wanted this video from a pro. But I’m already doing it like you 🤣
I was cleaning it but I was looking for the deep cleaning method that you use any soaking the parts and give it thorough cleaning and drying on a mat .
The crumbs where the interlocking of the lid drove me crazy and I feel like i could never clean it good enough...using a cleaning tooth brush for that is genuis!!
I love making taco soup in mine...also boiled eggs
I love stuffed pepper soup from salt & lavender blog :) Thank you for the awesome video! :)
I love double boiling soup in my pressure cooker ❤️
I still use my paternal G-ma's old pressure cooker it's 60 yrs old, works great and I love it. It's the original Instant pot. If it aint broke, don't fix it, or change it.
Thank you!!
Hi!
I love your videos.
I'm moving & this is a MUST purchase!
Thankyou xx
You're very welcome!

Hey Melissa I appreciate this video, but I have a question. Do you have a video on how to clean an air conditioner and heater? Do you know of a way to clean the coils inside of the A/C? Is there a way to clean my heater so I don't have to smell that disgusting smell of dust burning? I live in California and I would really appreciate a video like this so that I can use my A/C for this heat. Thank you!
If you can find an owner's manual for your furnace and air conditioner, it may explain how to clean them. Cleaning furnaces is considered general maintenance so I would expect a manual to explain the process.
The white and brown rice!!! Chicken soup!!! Omg!!! It was the best $50 ever spent!!! 😭🙌🏼❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎
I love making quinoa in the instant pot. So fast and easy.
What setting do you put it on to cook quinoa ?
www.platingsandpairings.com/how-to-cook-perfect-quinoa-in-the-instant-pot/
This is the recipe I use.
Please also put out a video on how to clean an air fryer. Thank you.
I found an amazing ribs recipe! It tastes just like the ones you would get from a restaurant!
It’s very important to clean the pressure pin. Make sure you clean it every couple of uses❤️.
Didn’t know - thanks!
I soak black beans overnight, then I rinse the beans, add clean water and put it in the Instapot to pressure cook. The beans come out like a stew, just perfect. Season to taste.
Cold start yogurt unsweetened so you can flavor it however when you use it or sub it for sour cream
What was that all purpose cleaner you had in that sweater matching spray bottle? Loved your detailed video. Also love that sweater. Will shamefully admit that it was not that title that grabbed my attention to this video, you are a head turner.
My windex bottle say there is Vinegar inside. is it the same than using your solution of dish soap, vinegar and water?
Chicken marinara, Mississippi roast, chicken Alfredo, mashed potatoes, shredded mexican style chicken for making quesadillas
I have a suggestion and question aside from this video.
Suggestion - how to clean Dacor gas range and gas range hood
Question - I’ve been enjoying your book but wondering does your DIY disinfectant from the videos replace the need for a brand name one with EPA registration as suggested in the book?
Also love the DIY toilet bowl cleaner but does it have to be made as fresh batch each time?
Thanks for inspiring me to clean!
My fav thing to make in IP is Yoghurt!!
I love to make chicken tacos so easy and fast! But I have also made a to die for salted Carmel cheesecake in it too.
This is a great video! Thanks! My favorite thing to make in my Insta Pot is bone broth! :-) So fast and so easy! :-)
I just got one and haven't used it yet. I'm probably going to use it for soups and rice with vegetables.
I love my Instant Pot, BUT I love my Ninja Foodi soooooooooo much more. It's a pressure cooker and airfryer in one!! My model also dehydrates. I was definitely missing the crispiness with my Instant Pot meals, but my Ninja Foodi took care of that!!
Yes the Ninja Foodi rocks! I use mine all the time.
OMG! I'm cleaning mine now and wondering how to get the inside pot clean. Thanks!
We got your back Rhonda!
Love to make korean beef, pork chops, hard boiled eggs, creme brullee, cheesecakes are great, but had to stop making them they were going to waist. Thanks for cleaning will do today
Does the grease ruin the microfiber cloth?
Great question and I was wondering the same. She has said not to use microfiber with grease before 🤷♀️
You make mention of your all purpose cleaner in the purple spray bottle. Can you link the recipe you use to make this cleaner?
What brand of all purpose are you using that is food safe?
Judy Gensler it’s probably her own with rubbing alcohol
I make my vegetable soup and boiled eggs(5-5-5)cook 5 minutes, warm 5 minutes and put in iced water 5 minutes the shells come off very easily.
It's not a recipe ~~~~ but making Hard boiled eggs is my favorite thing to make. Hands down it makes it effortless and easy to keep on hand for us protein lovers!
Mmmmmm!!! 🥚🥚🥚
Clean My Space 💜. Loved this video by the way!

I use mine at least 3 days week. Family favorite is Lemon pepper chicken.
I don't have an Instant Pot but I do have a pressure cooker, my favorite thing to cook in it is Greek Style Pork Chops
Is this a 6 quart?
I got my instant pot for Christmas... it's still in the box. Lol I know it's a bit different than the original pressure pot but it's still scary 😂😂

The on the stove recipe takes about 1 hour to cook, not counting the prep. It takes about 20 min in the IP. Yr gonna love it. Oh!, cook rice in it. Its faster and better than a rice cooker.
I am obsessed with my instant pot!!! Don’t think i ever want to use my stove again lol
My favorite recipe now is Red Lentil Chili and rice. It comes with the instant pot in their recipe book
I do not have an Instapot, but my niece has one and she raves about how easy it is to cook spaghetti with meat sauce.
@@robinfl6839 thank you for letting me know. I will now look into getting one in the near future
