- Are you paranoid if your IPD is correct? Perhaps you ordered a Bigscreen Beyond and every night ends sleepless as you wonder if the IPD you set is the right one... Same here, so I developed a great way to not only confirm your far IPD, but also find it, all with a literal piece of paper.
00:00 Intro
00:28 Prepare your piece of paper
01:15 Measure using your piece of paper
03:31 Adjust your paper based on the results
04:32 Repeat the process
04:46 Desired Result, Final check
06:01 Outro, you won
This is helpful! Thank you very much.
nice to share this method, regarding the holes, should they be made with a protractor with like a 1cm diameter?
I was imagining a kind of origami paper device version with:
- (left side) a fixed hole on one side
- a (right side piece A) having a middle vertical long oval slot cut out
- with secondary piece (right side piece B) with a pinhole, also with folded 'hinges' gripping over (right side piece A) to make a sliding pinhole track
perhaps using folded paper layers or light cardboard for sturdiness
that would be interesting, i don't know if using a printed template would be accurate enough, but having it be a fordable design means you cant really pull it straight, so it might bend unnecessarily, scewing results. The beauty of 2 fixed holes on a paper is how simple it is to get an accurate result or direction. I think you would be better off making a bunch in .5mm steps and compare them. Although an adjustable solution might work better as a 3d-printed thing.
holes can be what a normal hole puncher gives you or when you punch it with a screw driver. I even punched one with a pencil (although only the top part) and it worked well enough. I think what is best is to use a 3mm hole puncher, which is also the diameter that I used in the examples of this video.
Having it a bit larger means its easier to hold the paper at arms length and still get a good reading. Generally there is no need to overcomplicate it, as long as you verify the distance of the left edges of the 2 holes once you made them.
I just got my beyond, the IPD is 63.Texts from 1m away are sharp but humans standing front of me, their noses are blurry.
yeah i think your ipd is set 1mm too wide, i would ask their support. They recommend going with up to 1mm less than your far ipd.
@@Maebbie thanks for the tip. My paranoia is gone now, I shall request a replacement headset
