  • Inbetween modern architecture many surviving Roman structures can be found in Trier. They are well preserved and offer a unique contrast in this 2000 year old city.

That's was really intersting! What is your setup? The mic is really making the whole scene look ultra realistic!

hey, good to see you here and thanks. I use a Canon R5 c, powered with a powerbank for 60fps and canons dual fisheye lens. The source is 8k 60fps, but it wont really shine until its on DeoVR and OculusTV. I just checked one of my videos got published on Oculus TV now, my name there is "MaebbieVR180". I use a sirui st-125 tripod for all my shots (unless they dont allow tripods like in this video) and I have some other accessories to make sure the camera is 100% level + a white balance card, this is shot in 12 bit Raw Light after all.
I make sure to record spatial audio for all shots, since it really helps with immersion. I use a Zoom H3-VR, which is compact and standalone mic and i attach it to the side of my tripod with a shockabsorber so its easy to handle and you get the most accurate audio. I really like that mic, since it uses 2 AA batteries, which can last 20 hours of continues operation + it can be powered via cable. Its only flaw is that it still has micro-usb in current year, but i only use it with batteries anyway. I do record audio with the camera as well though, just so I can line up the audio from the spatial mic.
I plan on making a video on this, where I also showcase how I pack it all in my backpack. I arrange my gear a bit odd, like putting my tripod inside the backpack, as to be more low key.

@@Virtuonaute The only reason I went with the R5 c is for the 60fps on 8k. You can make great shots with the Vuze XR you have, when I made my Venice VR series I used that camera and the trick is to plan your shots to have not as much dynamic range. Like not shooting against the sun, always with it (I used google earth's sun mover thing to mark whether to visit a place during morning or evenings), limiting how much sky you see when its cloudy, making sure a scene has scattered shadows instead of half of it being in one big shadow etc. This camera is great, but a Vuze can make it work too and if there was a compact 8k 60fps camera I would switch to that, maybe one day...

@Maebbie actually, I recently switch for 2 gopros 11 with max lens, it greatly improve my low light ability and I have now a better resolution, but in a compact and durable setup! I can even do 60 FPS as well in 6K, but as I hope to earn money with my videos, I'll need something better for sure

@@Virtuonaute oh nice, thats the spirit! I dont know if i can go back to manually doing the stereo adjustment again though, canon's vr utility is pretty convenient since the past few months. It aligns stereo, exports in manageable 10bit files and applies noise reduction that is enough for anything except very dark scenes.
