I'm an italian fantasy writer and....you know, whenever it comes to write down a good battle, I know where to come in order to find passion and inspiration. Thanks Apollo
Epic!! I Didnt realize Venice fought any land battles like this. Also Italians used stone mostly, not timber, so the Tudor looking buildings would not be found in Sicily
On behalf of the proud Italian people, I thank you for your moving depiction of our accent. Kidding of course, beautiful commentary. Love the Italian wars, and I hope you'll play some yourself. Always supporting my man Apollo..
Hey Apollo, I have been watching you for a little while and while I love your commentary and Replays. I would also kinda like to see you play some campaigns. Seeing you have to do actual objectives in creative ways would not only be awesome to watch but also helpful for some.
OOOOH HELL YESSS the Italian factions in this mod (my favorite tw mod/game) besides the Duchy Of Saxony so this will be dooope :D Also Apollo PLEEAAAASE play more of that Pike and Shot mod you played a while ago that was rlly rlly cool and I'd absolutely love to see more Whatever happens you're always the best and make the best content, Apollo
Pixelated Apollo Oh seriously? I'm following you for more than one year, but I probably missed it x). Thanks for your answer, don't stop your great videos :D
That last sentence is so true, if you are outnumbered in any way in Attila it is an auto lose if the difference is 200+ men, that is why I prefer Medieval 2. Keep up the great content Apollo I love what you do and I also love the Byzantines ;)
Pixie, I've always wondered, where do you get the screenie of the army comps? Do the players send it to you? Or do you go into the game, pick the same units the screenshot?
Fanti da Mar where a special type of venetian medieaval infantry, made for melee on the galleys, for landing battles and to protect the territories over sea
i'm italian and oh my god its fantastic how did you pronounced spadaccini exept that continue like now your video are the greatest total war video that i've seen
Attackers have it easy in later games like Attila. It's only a fools mistake to think that because you're attacking you're the one at a disadvantage. I consistently won 2v2 siege battles as the attackers in Rome 1, and if anything I loved being the initiator. It's child's play breaking/scaling walls, and the extra disadvantage of receiving debuffs when your city is on fire is the icing on the cake. Even as a 2v2 I would still opt for being the attackers every time. If your archers had sufficient cover to deal casualties to enemy troops during the early stages of the game, if those morale and combat debuffs were gone, then we would be looking at a fair fight.
yea you know what the def never win!!!! and do you know what, im gonna sub to you cos of this cos everyone else un subs ;) love your vidios man have benn following you for a year without subing so its about time
I got attila because of you, i love the fire effects. So far it is my favourite total war game, however i would like to get the winds of winter (the game of thrones mod)...i think its that one, where would i find it?
james midd ...not in my playthrough...well...in my first one she jumped, in the second and third she's all good :D so erm...it depends if you reloaded the game several times in order to save her xD
could you make a total war battle tutotial series? the tips yoy give in these videos are very helpful and it would be amazing if you could compile them into a video
At 25:20 my general got stuck on a unit and died. After that every unit just wanted to give up within seconds of seeing combat. The pikes you saw inside the "castle" literally popped their heads out the gate and routed.. They weren't even the Sicilian ones, they were cowardly HRE troops... A lot of crossbows were late retreating as they were all by the walls with the swords, firing over them at the units coming out of the siege towers. The far right side was all skirmishing, going well until my general died, which is when it went to shit and a lot routed leaving the crossbows alone. It was hard to balance the 3v2 in this game. I limited them to only 16 units each but the attackers got weary at me asking em not to use chevs, go easy on tier 3 units etc. So this was the result. More of a time game. Next time will have to have a reinforcement army act as the balancer and have 2-3 weak defenders hold the victory point till they arrive to mop up.
Italian here. Guelphs and Ghibellines were two political faction in Florence. The first ones wanted the Pope to have also political power and were divided into black and white Guelphs (Dante Alighieri was a white guelph because he wanted the Pope and the Emperor to divide their powers, while the black ones wanted the Pope to have all the power). The Ghibellines wanted the Emperor to have all the political power in Florence. The fights between the two factions are the reason behind Dante's exile from florence. So no kingom of Sicily and Venice involved...
