CUSTOM DIY SLIDE OUT BIKE RACK - EP18 Van Build

In this video we build and install a custom slide out bike tray in our Mercedes Sprinter camper. We used Rockymounts Hot Rod bike mounts and massive 1.5m 227kg rated locking drawer slides for the build. Stoked that we can now fit our mountain bikes under the bed!

Great work. Is mud from tyres an issue on the timber or getting in the runners/ rust. We will replicate this cheers

Thanks! We mostly ride in pretty dry conditions so it’s been pretty good, little bit of dirt and stuff but pretty easy to clean. When we did plumbing we put in a tap under the back of the van so a few times it’s been real muddy we just hosed the bikes down. Enjoy the build 🙌

How much height do you have to the bottom of your bed? Looks tight but perfect! Thanks!

Pushed this to the limit trying to maximise clearance above the bed! We’ve got around 930mm from the floor to the bed supports. We’ve since added a pull out table which is mounted under the bed - clearance is 890mm there

The tray is 1600mm long on 1500mm slides. There’s a bit of a sketch at the start if that helps
