Watching from the United States and as a retired Registered Nurse I love watching these angels do their job and their compassion is just over the top.
Sadly they don’t make anything close to the pay Nurses here in the US make… atrocious.
Thank you for your years of medical dedication. I believe that once a nurse, always a nurse. Cheers!😊
People need to realize that in all western societies every ER goes by acuity not who came first. I’ve seen people go absolutely nuts yelling and screaming at staff because the person that came in after them went back to a room before them. You need to understand that your hangnail is not as emergent that man or woman who just came in with chest pain and after an EKG they find tachycardia. That’s serious and needs urgent medical attention. You may be in pain with that sprain or broken toe but you will not die waiting. You’re not the only one having possibly the worst day of their life. Also, please understand this. Special message to frequent flyers, going by ambulance won’t get you into a room right away. Again, it comes down to acuity.
my local ER has signs all around with the levels of importance so you can know where you sit
Ô
Exactly this. I have my own experience with this being rushed through to a room because of my vital signs were showing I was in diabetic ketoacidosis along with other underlying conditions I wasn’t quite aware of at the time. I’ve been a type 1 for 23 years now and 5 years ago was the first time I’ve ever experienced diabetic ketoacidosis. They take people based on the seriousness of their conditions.
Whenever I end up at the hospital, I get triaged to the top of the list because usually it's things like burst cysts with vomting and bleeding, tachycardia episodes, and so on. People don't understand triage though and get angry.
This is so very true. The few times I've gone to the ER have been for actual borderline emergent conditions, ' They got me in very quickly.
Dang my man had only been working for 3 days and his boss came to give him a lift home from the hospital? That’s pretty chill of him
Probably have been working together for a long time on other jobs - it’s just that particular job that was starting up. Poor bloke
Of course he's a good boss , sounds like an Aussie or Kiwi. Laid back and chill
Seems like the least he could do
the 91 year old woman.. my heart🥺 she's such a sweet soul making sure she got everyone's name correctly.
I worked in a hospital emergency department for many years. Men are definitely more dramatic when it comes to pain.
Not all of us. I've had my teeth drilled without anesthetic. My wife on the other hand has to announce every tiny ache and pain.
Really. So all that screaming I hear women doing in the emergency departments I've been was what? Played over the speaker systems for our enjoyment?
@@hepburn118 either or, but after screaming I bet they weren’t carrying on with a big mouth like you are.

Thinking about Rose having no family left really broke my heart. She seems like such a lovely person. :( So sweet, funny, and kind. I wish I could sit with her and listen to her chat away ❤
That’s the way I thought too. You know they get to this age and they could be the last one alive in their whole circle of friends and family and they find they’re all alone. There should be some kind of society that you could call if you’re like Rose, and you would just like somebody that’s been approved to come and have tea with you when you’re in the hospital. Jen was an absolute beauty with the way she treated Rose. She really touched my heart. She reminded me of the way I would’ve been if I had been a nurse. I really wanted to be a nurse, but I just couldn’t get my chemistry and my algebra. That’s what stopped me putting an end to my dreams of becoming a nurse. With other things, I could get them really quick and do what I’m supposed to do and a job but whenever I inquired about becoming a nurse, I had to go take the chemistry and algebra again. I’m a type one diabetic since I was nine years old, and nearly died of it. My parents waited too long to call the doctor to the house. The doctor said I had mere hours to live. It left me with having problems, educational wise.
What can you do when you’re 62 and I’m just being told I have to have double bypass surgery on your heart? I envy Jen for her career.
Jen and the other staff treating the 91 year old lady were all lovely ❤
You can see Rose must have been a real beauty in her youth. Still such a lovely lady.
the nurse just straight up telling the old man he can't leave 😂 love her
Annmarie dealing with the sweet old man. Bless her heart. She understood that he was in pain and just didn't want to be messed with. ❤

He reminds me of the old man in the movie "Up" ❤
Sweet old man, my ass. He was a nasty little monster.
That nurse that convinced him to stay ❤love her for that
I wish Rose was my grandma. I'd take care of her in a second - What a sweetheart. ❤
When you see the older gentleman panic, don’t keep going. Stop and say this hurts , I can see it hurts etc etc. don’t stick the needle in deeper. This bloke was hurt scared and was not going to loose face. The nurse made it okay.
I had an ear infection once. One of the most painful experiences of my life (so far). I did everything I could think of. Rinsing my nose with saline, moving around, laying still, all the while googling like a madwoman and just praying for my eardrum to burst so I could get some relief. After several hours of plain torture I realised there was one thing I hadn’t tried. I took one ☝️ paracetamol. Twenty minutes later I felt no pain what so ever and couldn’t believe how stupid I’d been.
I am blessed in that my pain tolerance doesn't allow me to feel things like ear pain or throat pain. My ear drum just ruptures and even that doesn't feel like anything.
I totally understand Jim. I dislocated and fractured my shoulder and it was the most painful thing I’ve ever had- worse than delivering two large babies without painkillers! Incredibly painful!😖
Yes! Incredibly painful! What is worse is dislocation needs to be set and unless you’re a child they don’t sedate you. It’s rare that ketamine is given when setting the dislocation. When some people are in incredible pain like this your nervous system is going haywire. All you can do is feel the pain you’re in. Plenty of people can be given loads of opioid pain medication and it’s not sufficient in easing the pain or it only lasts 10-15 minutes at most. You are freaking out thinking you’re never going to be out of pain and it creates even more anxiety, fear and pain.
I absolutely love Jen! She is so sweet, caring and treats patients with utmost respect. All of the staff seem so wonderful! Every ER should have caring Dr's and nurses as this! ❤🏥🩺🩹🥼
That old dude getting his knee drained -- for Pete's sake, you can't tell me there's no better way to anesthetize the area. He was in bad pain and they weren't acknowledging it. 😢 He said he felt like they were treating him like a guinea pig, and they just wanted to "try again". That's why he wanted to go home. I would have done the same.
They wanted to put more painkiller in and he didn't want it. It is very painful, he just needed more than usual. He reminds me of my mom. She had heart trouble but refused to believe it as no one in her family had that, she said. They all lived a long time. So Dr gave her a baby aspirant every day. Died of a MI at 94.
Those nurses had such bad bedside manner, didn’t try to comfort him or calm him at all, they should’ve stopped when the pain got too bad and tried something else
They should've try to give him something for anxiety as well... js 🤷♀️
He refused painkillers… ain’t much one can do at that point. Y’all should go work as a nurse in the ER for one day so you know how difficult people can be
@@ddnmr5401 I did not see him refuse anesthetic. He refused to try again, despite the offer of *more* anesthetic (more of the stuff that apparently didn't work the first time). I didn't hear them offering any explanation or reassurance that it would be any better if they tried again.
If I needed an ER, I would like to come from the US and be admitted to these wonderful ER centers in the UK.
People dont get it . Er or AE is not by appointment or First come first serve... it is by who is hurt worse. Should they take u cause u brused your foot when someone comes in crushed by boat and have them wait?
I've never been to A&E until I had children...now when I go I know it could be up to 6 hour wait to be seen, the earliest I've been seen was 2 hrs 😅. I don't mind because I knew if I got worse, I was in the right place 👍
Anyone that would think this just not real. Trust me! This is as real as it gets. Living with many pain related illnesses. It takes things from you. Friends, family and instead of feeling human, we feel so crappy. Everyone handles it differently. I mask it but my love wants me to let him know how I am feeling. Some do not have anyone. I am very lucky.
Omg this comment hits me completely. I’ve lost everyone.. I hope my service dog I’ll be training in April will take me back into life some. And if not we’ll have each other🌷🦮🌷 stay strong friend❤
@commonsense571 hi! That is definitely a great idea adopting a furr baby. My Feral (raised indoor cat 😹) means everything. She is still with us at 18y4s old now. Definitely get that doggie! 😃 😊
Yeah, it does take something from you, it selfishly rob's a piece of your soul. I only have the one pain related problem (broken ankles that were oprerated on incorrectly and now I am in constant pain) but it dominates every aspect of your life. I am sorry you have to endure many to my one, may your pain improve friend.
@hepburn118 Oh bless you! You have to weather through. I can barely function when at a mall. Your pain is valid, and it is as bad as my pain. Neuropathy is a huge thing. You celebrate life, and I hope you feel better. 🤗
I know these are bit old but I just love Jen. She's my favorite, but I love Annmarie as well. The British nurses are so much warmer than the ones we have here who are all business, and sometimes just plain mean.
How does it make any logical sense for a emergency room to be first come first serve, that is so unbelievably stupid I can’t even 😂
To not ensure an elderly man's knee was properly anesthetized - I felt for him. I sincerely felt for him. Dont do that.
How would they know until they started? Everyone has different requirements for local anaesthetic
I love watching ya'll, I'm a retired Registered Nurse here in the United States. Oncology, stroke, renal dialysis, medical, surgery and step down from icu.
The Senior sisters on this videi are fabulous
I have just found this show and had to subscribe, it is awesome. The first one I saw was the one with the little girl and her dad both with burns and I was hooked.
Such a sweet lady,Rose and the care they gave her
Jen, I hope you’re reading this & know you are freaking awesome! Love from the States here.. Indiana… ❤❤❤😊😊😊
That older man with the bad knee, should never have been put through that kind of pain. We have many many types of pain relief. I feel for him.
He wouldn't let them give more anaesthetic and just stormed off. There was never any guarantee it would be pain free from the start, he didn't give them a chance
I've always thought that emergency physicians have to be one part medical professionals and one part BS artists, just to keep the patient as calm as possible. They truly are special people.
Hope all goes well for Jim. What a wonderful couple Pat and Alan keep on loving God Bless you both. Outstanding patient care from Ann-Marie and Jen, my Nan meant everything to me.
Hi everyone, I have been watching these shows for many years, it seems as though I have seen them all I was wondering if you can put some more fresh ones on thankyou.
I love working at Kings College Hospital
I love Jen, what a beautiful compassionate person!
Rose is just beautiful. ❤
What a doc , and a brilliant team . These people are amazing.
More Jen please! Shes amazing!!!
lol insead of giving cinderella a glass slipper , prince charming steals cinderellia's shoe and runs off with it to get cinderella to marry him - and it worked 😂
"We don't have cool canes. This is the NHS." LMAO
Does Jim have access to workers compensation? After all the injury is work related.
Sweet Rose... She was sweet and strong you could tell. Obviously bruised and busted but still chatting. Unlike the big guy wirh the dislocated shoulder.
Amazing staff. Beautiful people xx
This show is the GREATEST
Omg the alan guy and wife are so so cute
do people understand it is triage?! not necessarily first come first served....like this ain't a restaurant....
Whish i could do this work ❤
Jen is a sweetheart. I would love for her to care for me at the hospital anytime. Bless you Rose!❤Happy Birthday 🎂
omg the man screems out of pain
I truly addicted to this show
Rose seems like such a nice lady
Rose is so cute, really emotional watching her. of course wish everyone else
Thank God for you all
I use to enjoy watching things like this till 30 Jan 21 grandad died 7th July 22 mum died and 22nd march 23 nan died nan was I'll was for years but I think when we lost mum she just give up basically lost my whole family as they were the only ones who care and bother quite a lonely life now but I try to stay positive as that's what they would have wanted
My goodness! That's so much loss ❤
Poor old man those men have awful bedside manner, just staring at him as he yells in main, no comfort or sorrys, after a certain point of pain you need to stop not just keep going. So disappointing to see. They were so rough with him
My job has a Family Medical Leave act that secures your job.I live in the 🇺🇸
28:23 love these 2, they are a riot. ❤ I totally want this kind of love
The elderly man with the cyst requires to have the cyst sack removed otherwise it will fill up again. Draining with a syringe is a quick fix. I would call it a bodged job? Medical opinion welcome.
Yes, numb it ,cut it out ,it will just come back.
I love watching this TV show
I broke my toe and continued to run an overnight conference 😅 I guess you never know.
The chap who kicked a concrete block sounded like a Plants vs Zombies Michael Jackson mob
Very weird moaning and groaning..wanting a fancy cane, blimey entitled much.
❤ thank you so much for your videos!!!!🙏💖🙏💖🪷
I can understand that elderly man getting so upset. That needle was giant and that looked terribly painful 😭. Couldn’t they try something so it was more numb 😬. Gosh I felt for the poor man. All these drs and nurses r incredibly kind but that was ruff 😩
Ty for caring
Chris said it, reaction to pain is very different, it depends. I'm the quiet one 99% of time. That 1%, i yell one word, nothing more, usually it's some sort of f-word, i live in finland so yeah, different words here. But i'm fine with pain, i deal with it every single day. 😅
ER takes in priority vs who came 1st or 2nd
these wait times are insane.. wow
I just love Rose she’s adorable reminds me of my mom❤❤
Love this show!
I hve had water on my knee but hell the dr who used a needle yo withdraw it knew whay he was doing.
That dr hurt that old man cause he knew buggerall
I watched a woman rolled in with a foot facing the wrong way with her disjointed ankle bone Broken through the skin and she did not scream like that!
I thnk she was in shock. This guy has a dislocated shoulder and those things hurt like you wouldn´t believe, they screw around the nerves when they dislocate.
@@raquellofstedt9713 Well I have been through medical emergencies, but never a dislocation, but a dislocation is worse then a compound fracture?
@@symptomoftheuniverse4149I think it depends. In some compound fractures, the area goes numb, but I frankly have never heard of a dislocation going numb.
@@raquellofstedt9713 Or the pain tolerance of the person, or how considerate that there maybe others there that are very ill.
those that don't have families get through things in peace and quite
the dude just growling😭😂
I would be so embarrassed if I made those kind of noises
trust me, when you’re in an actually unbearable amounts of pain it’s involuntary. embarrassing? yeah a bit, but you can’t really help it.
When you have bone on bone pain, it is the most excruciating pain one can feel. I had a needle walked across a bone spur in my heel I thought would die. Mind you I've been split open from pubic to navel six times, back fused etc etc etc. I was a gymnast, and mother of five. I KNOW PAIN, but bone pain is the worst
I wish health care workers were this nice here. Yes, I would love a cup of tea.
Anne Marie and Jen are angels 🤗🇨🇦

How do you keep so calm when he is such a crying baby.
Alan, there's a guy in my street wit two prosthetic legs and nothing holds him back .Saw him the other week mowing his lawns.😮
That elderly man needed more compassion and comfort first off secondly it’s his legal right I believe in the USA it is maybe different there though but here it’s his right to leave AMA even if he drops dead on the way out the doors that’s it I feel so sorry for him I wish I was there I would have loved to hug and hold his hand even if I was just there visiting or something if I was well I would have been his companion for the hospital visit poor guy it brought tears to my eyes I felt for him deeply 😢 I hope he is okay ❤

We've had people wait 8 to 12 hours in our emergency departments. They can only do what they can, triage is necessary at times. The have the patience of saints here.
The Dr in charge here, she's a wonderful doctor, one of the best!

That ma was a big baby. My god. Making so much noise over his shoulder.
Bone grinding on bone is INCREDIBLY painful. I had a bone spur from an improperly healed metatarsal break in my foot surgically removed because it hurt so bad it prevented me from walking.
My sister is 91 on 29th March. Independent, lives alone ,mows her own lawns and stacks her firewood....much fitter then me 😂
What is that tube that the guy who hurt his shoulder is breathing with?
Dont use agreen needle to give local, thats cruel
Right
OMG WHATS ALL THE SHOUTING FOR!!!
I’ve dislocated various joints, broken ribs, broken coccyx multiple times. Did not yell like Jim 🤦🏻♀️😂
My partner dislocated his shoulder out fishing..took them an hour to get him back to a car in the boat, then half an hour to a hospital. No pain relief the whole time and I was on the phone to him and never once heard him scream either.
But then I watch midwife videos and see women going natural and not screaming and I screamed my head off during labour. So I guess people deal with pain differently lol
The overweight construction man has more serious thing to worry about. He's so overweight I'm surprised he hasn't had heart problems already. But it will happen or other major health problems. I hope he changes his eating habits
Women give birth quieter than the guy with the hurt shoulder. Geeze buddy.
I've both given birth and dislocated my shoulder...I'd rather give birth. Dislocations are crazy painful...like insane level
That woman saying it’s been an hour and it’s been hour and half is getting on my nerves!!! Wait amid stop moaning 🤬🤬🤬
And be glad you aren’t a higher priority! You don’t want to be the person who is urgently rushed in.
We wait a lot longer at our ER's here in Florida.
I’m just distracted by her hair .
There has been times here where the wait for non urgent care was 12hrs.
the care in the UK is not what you think this is being filmed remember
however I do agree they have nicer bedside manner than the USA
The old man was treated without care or respect..first time I’ve ever seen such lack of empathy. A needle in a knee bone must have been agony…those folks need some more training!
You don’t know much They weren’t given a chance to put enough numbing meds. He let them poke once and it has to be in several places to completely numb it.
Screaming like a little girl?? Girls and women have a WAY higher pain tolerance! I’ve heard this from everyone from tattoo artists to doctors. Women can handle way way more pain. We monthly handle the pain equal to heart attacks and still go to work and school. That man saying that was incredibly insulting. Men are far more fragile when it comes to pain and sickness.
Period pain is equal to a heart attack? For real?
