I live in Caribou, Maine. It's the northern most city in the USA, right below Canada. It looks just like this here...snow everywhere!!! From November to April. Awesome old Thundercat!!
Excellent!! Hang on to that beast. Gonna be collector item for sure. Kinda like late 80 early 90 Honda CR500 dirt bikes Bringing big money these days. Man, sure makes me want to dig out my 1995 ZRT800. Hasn't run in about 15 years either. Its actually a 900. 900 T-Cat cylinders ported by Stage 6 performance (90s era). Slight increase in compression. Stock pipes. V Force reeds. Stage 6 clutch kit Supposedly 185-190 hp. The thing was/is a rocket ship. I tuned the carbs and was getting as good or better gas mileage as my buddies who were all running 600s - 800s. Always wanted to try one of those 1107 kits!
Hell yes! I think your right about that! These things are getting more and more popular again. Those ole ZRT's were some bad boy's! You should try and keep that greasy thing alive, sounds like a bad ass sled!
My dad threw my 12-year-old ass on a piped Formula III 600 making 150 horse -- and a few years later his 800 making 180. The sound of these old triples is seared into my soul.
When I was 12 my dad bought a sled for us to ride. A piped, ported, tuned zrt600 with reeds, machined heads, whole 9 yards. I don’t think he ever had a clue how fast it actually was.
Brings back memories. I’ve got to get my 700ZR out of storage my dad and I both had one. Mines a 95 and his is a 94. If you know what you’re doing you can make those suckers run. Especially if you drag race them. On ice would be great.
The good old thunder chicken....we had alot of fun with those back in the day...rmk 800 edge thunder cats and even some Yamahamers....lots of steep and deep mountains
I wouldn't mind having the updated suspension that the 99's had. I'll be making some new vids with it as soon as it gets above -30 F. Thanks for watching!
@@greatalaska6429 yeah it rode excellent for sure. It was my dads who passed away and I took it over after that. The sound of your video just puts a smile on my face and instantly brings back awesome memories. I’ll be looking forward to some future videos.
I bought a built zrt 600 all psi pipes high compression heads bored welded crank bought it off a local guy who’s entire family ice raced I took a 99 ax sno pro and swapped it over to the zrt chassi no one kept up with it on the lake or the trials I had so much fun with that thing once it was all said and done leave the shop down the boat launch to the lake to hit the trials to the buddy’s house to smoke some weed lol miss the good old days
That sounds like a ripper! those ole ZRT were untouchable. Once upon a time this Thundercat was the king of all sleds for almost all of Alaska. Nothing could keep up with this thing on the lake. I agree, good ole times indeed! Thanks for watching bud
@@smiller3110 Go north, lived up there years ago and guys would come up from the south to sled. They always said our worst trail was their best trail. There's also some long runs from Huntsville to North bay and even some trail bars way back out there, its been years but might be info on an online sled group
