    How does this compare to Phyn Plus? Is there a particular smart analysis, monitoring and shutoff besides these two?

    It's a good idea that it closes slowly. That prevents water hammer against the valve.

    I was confused at seeing an above ground water line with the smart water valve installed. What's keeping that line from freezing and busting??? Was there more to that above water line that wasn't included in the video like how is that line protected from freezing? Is there a cover that goes over that line to protect the power line from getting wet?

    • @scotttovey
      @scotttovey 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to find where the feed pipe that comes up from the concrete into the house.
      I know that in older, pre 1960's houses, that the water meter is connected to it which makes it easy to find, so that's the first thing I would look for is a water meter inside the house.

    • @ifoam
      @ifoam 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scotttovey Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. I know where the water meter is on the curb so I imagine that the pipe comes in on that side of the house. Do plumbers have equipment to easily locate this pipe? That side of the house would be perfect because I have an electrical outlet outside already.
      Although it might not be this product, a remote shutoff value could save a lot of money if tied to water sensors in the house. You gotta pay one way or another!

    • @sylphed78
      @sylphed78 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look for your pressure regulator, that should be above ground. You install the valve after that.

      Plumbers should be able to locate the pipe.
      Does your house have a main shutoff valve for the water?
      It should, if not, someone really screwed that up. In any case, that would be the best location for the valve.

    • @ifoam

    This device is a novelty, full function requires internet connection and cloud based computing which can be shut down rendering your $500 investment into a cheap $5 manual water valve if the manufacturer's ends support, discontinues service or goes out of business.

    • @Mr._Craig
      @Mr._Craig 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This is a cool thing. It would be nice to have a sensor at each of your fixtures and for example on your hot and cold pipes at each fixture there would be a shut off valve so for example let's say you don't want to physically turn the faucet on or off you could have free set temperatures and you could just say "Turn Kitchen Sink on" and the kitchen sink would go on and it would come on at a temperature you preset. The system could work with other types of faucets and devices this would be a good feature as well kind of like the Alexa DOT would work with the smart lights and smart plugs. you could even Alexa or your Google home to smart faucets so you can operate different actual faucets in your home you can even flush the toilet without being by the toilet it would even let you know if the toilet was plugged when you flushed it so you could get to it as quickly as possible plus it would let you know which toilet was having a problem or if you left the water on in a room.
