Great information! Only issue I’ve ran into with the phoenix smart is entering the solenoid strategy and ID on Ford transmissions. The tool will only write the ID and not the strategy. It also says that the strategy could not be written or something along those lines.

Is it possible to program an automatic transmission to not try to shift to the highest gear when in low or mid throttle? Unless manually shifting it, the vehicle's torque feels more responsive when the lowest gear used keeps the engine from dropping any lower than 2000 rpm in low throttle driving. But hey often go to the longest gear causing the transmission to takes too long to downshift.

Thanks for replying. It's a common thing with many AT cars I've driven. The one I have is a 2010 Infiniti G37 Coupe 7 speed. In this case when cruising, the transmission will upshift and remain at the longest drivable gear unless a bit of throttle is applied. To avoid this, I often drive it in semi-manual. @@TopdonOfficial
@@TopdonOfficial IMO, It's like a $50 scanner with a 10-inch screen. For every problem I couldn't handle, TOPDON's answer was the get the super expensive Smart series scanner. If can't do FOB keyless entry programming. (and please don't tell me to buy a Ninja or smart series) It can't do NISSAN ABS motor problems. It will open a TH-cam page that tells me to change the ABS motor. A Nissan ABS motor computer costs $4000. I should be able to trace what this problem is, bypass it, and or fix it. I'm not getting another scanner. The Phoenix Lite @ was promised to be a PORTABLE version of the TOPDON Pro series. It's feeling more like an ArtiDiag series. I'm VERY disappointed with this thing.

@@obtrunco Hello, from your description, this is a normal phenomenon. It is a program set by the gearbox. This cannot be changed through programming.
