    The good thing is now days we don’t need to get the most expensive coatings or to go and learn from them how to etc etc bc some brands liken diy or pan amd some other brands they have the technology to make them prime coatings and to work like the expensive ones and even better at the end what matters is the quality and how long can really stay on the car

  • @PanTheOrganizer

    Hey man I wanted to thank you for your review. You did a thorough job with the prep and the results speak for themselves! I was just as excited as you were when you were talking about gloss and slickness which will also continue to get better as the coating reaches its full cure.
    And those hydrophobic properties! I still laugh and smile every time I look at the water behaviour. Water just doesn’t want to stick to the surface. :)
    For the application, I think you did well in readjusting. When trying a new coating for the first time, we get a feel for flashing times and levelling, and readjust based on conditions.
    It’s best to follow the instructions and wait the 1-2 minutes even if you see rainbowing before. The coating is very forgiving and will still be easy to level and buff.
    And for the applicator that is supplied in the box, you are right, it does have a saver liner in it to prevent wasting product. I recommend people try that applicator first.
    Overall great job man, I’m super happy you enjoyed it and am looking forward to future updates!
    I wish you great success with your TH-cam channel!

      @FineDetailingAZ  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +21

      Thanks Pan! Good call out, every new product has a learning curve. Once I adjusted, the flash time it was no issue based on my conditions. It's so forgiving I even went longer then 2 min and it was still fine. No issue with high spots. Removal was a breeze. Everyone should be able to apply this coating safely and effectively.
      Also, it keeps getting slicker and glossier....I keep going in the garage to look at it. Looking forward to posting an update on the first wash.
      And yes....it's recommended to use the supplied applicator! I'm just stubborn lol.

    I know some people had an issue with Pan saying it's the "best ceramic in the world," but whatever! You should have pride in the products you put out and why would anyone aim to be just ok or the status quo?? Obviously saying some is the "best" is going to be subjective, but we also know Pan isn't going to put his name on something that he feels is just as good as the rest. I personally haven't found a "holy crap!!!" difference in gloss from one coating to the next, I think we often convince ourselves one product is heads and tails above another, after all, the human eye can only pick up a certain level of gloss. Regardless, I'm definitely looking forward to trying this.

      @@FineDetailingAZ I just finished polishing my 2023 Honda Passport in Lunar Silver with DIY's Gold Standard Polish using their 5" yellow pad and then prep washing with Pan's prep spray. I had the same experience as you with wait times with the 8 Year Coating. Rainbowing was almost immediate. I waited for up to three or four minute and found that it didn't really make any difference in leveling. I standardized on a two minute flash time and the results were fantastic. I can't stop running my hand over the finish and admiring the slickness. The gloss is great, and seems to be getting better as it cures, but it makes it obvious that I could have polished out a bit more of the orange peel in the factory clear coat. I'd read that Hondas can have soft paint, so I tried to err on the side of caution. I couldn't be happier with the results!

    I must have watched this 20 times. I’m jealous on one hand but content with my c6 hydrolite. My turbo mazda has the 46v soul red crystal paint and like you, I spent 3 days on the correction and touch up. It’s stunning in full sun but the fun is the occasional rain. I can tell the wind direction in the way the water sheds off at 30 mph. Your beemer came out stunning also. I was ready to choke myself if I saw one more coating demo on a white car that you can’t see on video. So thanks so much. It’s quite possible Pans 8 yr is the best. It certainly is priced well.

I've watched all his videos on clean now seeing other TH-camrs have the great opportunity to actually use them knowing that I won't be able to do the same or maybe in a few years to come at 5 or 6 times the actual price when or if it makes its way to my country. I'm sure it's because many overseas countries has the impression that my country only has poor people but doesn't realise there are other people who is doing quite okay and like me has the burning passion for detailing and cars. • @FineDetailingAZ
      @FineDetailingAZ  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Based on my application of hundreds of ceramic coatings. I was referring to application, gloss and hydrophobics. 95% of coatings on the market today haven't been out long enough to test long term real world durability so we as consumers are flying blind on most of them because companies are always changing formulas. I'm confident this coating won't fail like Cerakote did so I have to assume it will hold up long term like we assume C6 Hydrolite will. Hydrolite has only been on the market for a matter of months so we really don't know the durability of that one either. Hope that clarifies my comment!

    Not sure if it was my bottle but when I used Gyeon Pure EVO (my first ever coating), it was very similar in that it did not pour out of the bottle. It also rainbowed very quick. They say with Pure EVO, they put as much solids in it as possible so maybe it is similar, but Pure is not that slick

      Thanks for watching. EXO is slicker on application but after a couple of minutes Pan's coating is much slicker. Once cured (only 2 days it's even slicker so far). Application is standard just per your conditions. I had a learning curve the first panel I did then I figured it out. Also this is only one layer vs multiple like CSL/EXO. He says you can layer it but I went with one layer on everything. The center portion of the hood I did 2 just for testing. Cure time is much faster can wet in 1 hour vs 12 hours to gtech I think it is? 12 hours until ph neutral wash vs Gtech is 7 days. Lots of improvements in my opinion.

    Great to see the application process and your experimentation with it. It looks to be VERY user friendly, and competitively priced.
    I've yet to try a ceramic coating, being a ceramic spray guy to-date but will try a coating next Spring.
    I'll be really interested to see how this fairs in actual use on the road. I think anything can look great at the first application. My ceramic spray does for sure but give it a week of wet weather and the lower halves of the doors are fading fast. However, a quick pre--rinse and 'wash and wax' maintainer and it's good to go again.
    Does a ceramic coating help at all with reducing marring? That's my problem with my soft Toyota paint. I've heard ceramic coatings are not of benefit for that.

      @FineDetailingAZ  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Hey Allen, thanks for watching. It is very easy to apply. We will certainly see how it holds and I'll give updates as we progress. Ceramic sprays aren't as durable as coatings so I think if you try a coating you will be pleasantly surprised. If they clog you can simply unclog them with some acidic shampoo or water spot remover. Ceramic coatings don't really protect against scratching they provide a small sacrificial layer for your paint. If you want more protection I'd look into PPF but even then that's not impervious to scratching. If you want to pick up some products you can use this link: thehouseofrags.com/?ref=aymmptnl

We'll see how it holds up. I do NOT like toppers on coatings so this was an attraction for me. I can't stand it when companies recommend toppers. Good vid… Funny how chipper you were to start, then how tired you seemed at the end. I’m thinking it was kinda frustrating trying to figure out the proper timing with this coating. Car looks real good though, but it should. That color should pop with any quality coating. So I’m not seeing anything groundbreaking here. The water behavior seems in line with Hydro Lite, DIYs 8yr, BC7, and other top products. The proof will be in the durability, the ability to resist spotting, and clogging.
    Honestly, what can you really show from a video, except installation?
    8 year coating, 2 layers, lol… whyyyyy?!

      Hey Walter! Yeah the first level I only waited 30 seconds but then I waited the full 2 minutes when it rainbowed and that was good. Haha I was just tired because I started at 6am.... It's just thicker then most coatings so there was a learning curve. I'm hopeful that the thicker application will add to the durability. I did only do one layer though. Hydrophobics were solid and I'll do a wash outside with some good lighting. Agreed it's top tier for sure. Pan is excited for his coating, as he should be but I can confirm it's a player at the top.
      Unsure of the temp rating. Per the website: Safe for all exterior surfaces (paint, glass, wheels, plastic trim, lights, PPF, vinyl wraps), including matte finishes.
      I added it to the grill but I'm going to do the lower front bumper and wheels with Ethos Max just to try a few different products.

      @@FineDetailingAZ lots of new coatings rainbow quickly now. The last one I used, exactly the same. Really confusing about when to level. In my head, I’m saying…. Leave it as long as possible. But in the end, it didn’t matter. These coatings are setting up, and bonding quickly. Shorter cure times by a lot now. I think my last coating was 5 hours.
      But thick, yes, high solids for sure. Nothing 5+ years should be thin. We are at a time, where manufacturers are pushing boundaries, and creating a category between Driveway/Consumer & Professional. An Enthusiast level. Slightly more complicated products to use, with attributes of the mystical “pro only” realm.
      Look, you will never fully realize if the coating will last 8 years. It’s just a number defined in theory, and many companies do it. For me, I’m from a profession that always under promise, and attempts to over produce. That’s the area to live in. No hype, all cases are different, promise the minimum.
