I have the grey dial with Vario's oh so plush grey leather strap. This unique field watch homage is solidly built, well proportioned and handsomely designed- personal fave!
Nice watch with good dimensions, kind of stands out from other military field watches with the crown at 4. I agree about the lug width though, needs to be 20mm. Thanks for another great review 👍
It feels like they can't make up their mind. Brushed? Oh no, we'll polish it. Crown at 3, oh no let's move it. Oh and let's hide the name of our brand? There are a lot of these dirty dozen homages. Good price point though! Not bad. Vaer has an excellent one that is much higher in specs and price, and an awesome quartz one. For me, it is not the military aspect, these are watches that tell a story. Ironically, the dirty dozen watches didn't get released in time for WW2. Readability is excellent on this style by the way.. The railroad track minute markers work!
The movement is just as good as the NH 35/6/8 movements. The original 8000 series movements did not hack or hand wind and were put out to rival the 7S26 Seiko movement. I have all of them, and they even appear to have gotten rid of some rotor noise that people complain about. For me, it’s not about the movement here… It’s a little too small for my taste, and I totally agree with you about the 18 mm Lugs. And 18 mm strap is going to make the watch look even smaller.
I have not been to the website to look at this model. I would prefer white or green lume on a Field Watch, they probably have that covered. 50 meters of resistance are perfectly acceptable on a field watch, 100 meters is certainly welcome though.
Based on seeing this, i would like to get a dirty dozen watch that’s everything this isn’t.pretty much. anyway I want Fully brushed or bead blasted case. Matte black dial with tradional white hands, markings and numerals. 3 o clock crown 316L Mecha quartz
Sorry but this exact case shape and size are made by a company called baltany. Of Chinese origin. For a better price and better specs. This to me isn't worth the $
what the heck is a Field Watch , are you wearing this on a adventure at jurassic Park and it has some special functions like detecting Tyrannosaurus Rex ?
Thanks for the feature! Love your review!
Thanks for this review! Do you know how much it weighs without the strap?

vario, vaer, mwc, baltany only thing i like about the vertex brand is the raised 3D numbers

Cheers Rik, always appreciate you commenting my man. Glad you still enjoy the videos! After nearly a year 😆
@@TopTierTicker Seems longer 😄👍
Beautiful watch
Is the rotor noisy every time you move your wrist?
You hear it occasionally, certainly not every time you move your wrist. This particular 8000 isn't as noisy as the others
The 4 o'clock crown looks weird though. And harder to adjust position-wise.
Agreed. And that shiny bezel looks cheap. Probably was cheaper.

Yay! Singapore watch!
looks great. But ive got that miyota movement in another watch, its good but a little noisy for me.
Yeah... I will say that it is slightly quieter in this watch than other 8000s I've had in the past
Hmmm … dearly tempted … but I promised myself no more Miyota 8 series movements. But nice to see G
They certainly make a lot of pretty watches. I think this one has enough differences to justify having it in a collection that already has a Hamilton.
There are currently no Hamilton models that look like this, so why would you mention them?
I imagine it was mentioned because most folks think almost exclusively about Hamilton when considering a Field Watch.@@KMV007
@@KMV007, as mentioned in the video, Hamilton is the main competition for this watch.

It must have a swiss movement!
More charm! Even, if it is a eta handwind!

Tons of 40mm field watches out there! I'm very happy this Vario has made one at 37!
Are you getting any teabagging?
Might as well get the original baltany watch from Ali for 100
first
Indeed sir, indeed
As Arnie J Rimmer said 'there's no percentage in being a boy racer' 😉
😂
That lume/patina color is terrible.
Meh

I enjoy Baltany, I've tried a few of their watches now... But the quality and attention to detail doesn't come close to this Vario... From experience
Love my Baltany D12 and the crown comes out at the correct angle…
