I purchased a brass case, 40 mm with a cream dial about 18 months ago. I forced a bit of patina on it and it looks great. I wear it while working at a botteling plant once a week. Beat it up pretty good - still runs great. Tip - flip the screws on the strap upside down when not using the bund part of the strap. You can't feel the smooth side of the screws at all. Also looks better - more industrial/vintage. Great watch that looks like nothing else in my collection.
I've had this watch for over a year , in every day use I definitely never hear the rotor, I love the history behind this style of watch and clip on straps are available.
I was quite amazed when I looked at the Vario website, one of their models is a direct copy of a 1950's 'Smiths' watch that I own! The Vario Empire White Tuxedo Gold Handwound Dress Watch. Probably significantly better made than the original, the Smiths 'Empire' range was the bottom of the range, with a manual wind that clicks as you wind it, and a tick that can be heard across the room at night!
This is quite a cool take on a legendary style of watch! Its super cool! I would just look at it all day. There is just so much detail! Have a great weekend bud!
Couldn't agree more! It's one of those that you frequently just sit and admire for a while. Especially with the enemal Cheerz Johan, always good to see you in the comments. And you brother 🙏
Love the style of this watch 👍 The water resistance & auto mech are a real bonus ! Have you considered having the strap screw heads facing up for better comfort ?
I switched them over at one point, but it doesn't make much difference. You still have the metal against the wrist, which leaves a dent when you take it off I wore it on that chocolate nato the majority of the time
Great video, thanks a lot for the info ! I’m about to purchase this watch, but I still have the question: In Vario’s website (and also in other TH-cam reviews) they mention a case thickness of 10mm, but in your video you mention 11.5mm… could you please confirm that? Cheers !
I have had the exact same watch you reviewed for a few months now. I didn't think I would care for the bund strap and would take it off immediately when it arrived and just wear it without it. Well that has not been the case. I have loved the bund strap as it adds a whole new vintage aesthetic to the watch. The dial is just beautiful to look at. There's an elegant vintage casualness to this watch that makes it so different from the other watches in my collection.
@@TopTierTicker Cheers. Vario is putting out some great stuff at the moment. Their dirty dozen homage looks good too - although I already have a Timor, so probably won't get it. I also like the look of the pulsometer version of the trench watch in your video; it's a bit like that Longines Heritage piece that was launched a few years ago but has since been discontinued and is now only available for crazy money. Very tempting.
Been looking at this watch for over 2 years - think i may buy one this year. Great specs and look, movement may be a little noisy but i have the same movement in another watch and it doesn't bother me.
Can't fault vario, this particular design is outstanding the movement solid, not a bad all rounder....despite the fact it's quirky in design by the myriad of options available today I can see this as a daily, for the oddballs that only have one watch....I'd go with the 40 and most likely the same dial as this....🏴⌚🏴⌚
Could be, but it wears a bit too big for that. Also, I think it works better as a tactical watch, with the oversized numerals and good WR rating. But yeah, you'd typically see this classical style on a dress piece over a tool watch Thanks for watching!

Vintage watch, bottling plant…recipe for manliness right there😂 bet it matches the badass mustache and suspenders
Great educational episode, for beautiful watch. Many thanks.
With great appreciation

Cheers Nizar! Glad you enjoyed it. I love the history side of things 🙏
I have this exact same model and can confirm it's a stunner.
Glad you enjoy it. Such a beautiful piece!
Indeed it is, and essential as part of a varioed (sic) watch collection.@@TopTierTicker
I absolutely love the Trench Medic version, especially the cream with orange lume!
It's a lovely watch, I love mine!
They're all very well designed watches. I must admit, I quite like the look of the brass case versions too 😆
Such a classic look, ceramic dial is beautiful. Great watch.

Glad it's not just me who can't hear it much then 😂 thought I might of been going deaf 😆

Yep, love that cream dial with orange hands and indices. Another great watch from Vario.
Really informative video Kieron, cheers 👍
I love that watch - on the bucket list!!!❤ Going for the 40mm. TY Top Tier, always bringing us terrific finds!
Great watch for a collection, especially if you love the look of vintage pocket watches! Unbelievably good looking 😍 thanks for watching! 🙏
@@TopTierTicker The font on the dial has almost whimsical feel that I absolutely adore!
That's a great observation, you're right. It matches the feel of the watch perfectly 👌
OMG love this vario field watch... gonna grab it soon

Thank you bro! 😀👌
Yes, a watch I would like in my collection. Sadly my wife says I have too many.
Haha! Start making videos on them, then the wife can't say anything 😆 that was my tactic anyway 😂
Ignore!
You don't need that level of negativity in your life. 😂
2 words, storage locker.
The trench watch inspiration is the one! Love Vario, always had top reviews from me
I think this one might be my favourite Vario yet 👌
Thank you.
Love the style of this watch 👍

Where did you get that brown Nato, love all the shades of brown, I have this Vario and would like to have that same look.
It's from CNS watch bands. I think they still make it. It's a single pass one
Great video, thanks a lot for the info !

Takes me back to my time in the trenches. Nice watch, great video. 👍
Thanks for watching mate, appreciate you!
Nice looking watch at a decent price. Reminds me of my Oris 1917.
Just checked that Oris out, very cool looking piece. Enjoy!

Yeah, I think it's well worth the trade off. The movement is surprisingly quiet anyway, atleast for an 8000 series 😆
I've had this watch for a year. Wear it everyday. I've never heard the movement. Great watch!
It's amazing
I didnt get one last year, but i will this year
This would be the perfect watch for The Goodwood Revival.

This watch could be a dress watch. Unfortunately the wired lug limit it potential.

And they have a pulsometer!
Yep! The medic version is super cool!
@@TopTierTicker just a bit big at 40mm…..
😍
