  • Cultural Rules to Live By in Seoul South Korea.
    When I first came to South Korea, I always wondered how I could make my life great here. I had so much culture shock, that my head was spinning. But as I continued my life here in Korea, I got to understand what was acceptable in Korean society and what was not. I want to talk about the cultural and societal aspects of Korean life that Koreans would love for foreigners to adhere to while living and traveling in Korea.

    I can really tell Koreans are huge on respect.
    The seniority culture is really taken seriously, including ones that involve alcohol consumption

    So many things!! Can't believe you brought up CPT!?
    Also, crazy about over scheduling Korean dates... Sounds somewhat unromantic to be so regimented.
    I do love how nonconfrontational everyone is because thats how I am!
    Yet, I don't think I'd be so popular because I never drink either, I hate overeating or social eating and doing karaoke, but I can eat spicy foods!
    Great video, great tips!

    • @francoismarc3
      @francoismarc3  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ohhh, you know CPT, B?! Hahahaha
      I remember my friends and I were always late going to meet other friends hahaha. Some friends would ask "Where are you?" We would say "Yo, we are right down the street...." knowing we hadn't even left yet hahahah.
      I also like the non-confrontational behavior here. Every now and then, you will see older people arguing with each other, but it's few and far between.
      I think you would like it here, though it's correct that if you don't overeat or drink, you might not be as popular as you could be lol. And if you eat spicy food, you are definitely okay! Thanks so much, B!!!

    • @francoismarc3
      @francoismarc3  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I love to give gifts because it's just my nature, so I fit well in Korea. But I learned that when I give a gift, people's attitudes change towards me. They also give gifts to me in return, but just love seeing people's expressions when I give gifts expecting nothing in return:)

    You would feel the limits as a forigner at anytime... Because, Korea is not an immigrant country like US or many other western countries, but empasis their blood, surnames and even clans, and most of forigners except from north eastern asia are distinguished by appearance, so you need to recognize and accept it!!! And, so be nice and courteous wherever you go in Korea then Koreans will treat you as guests at least...

      입을 벌리고 먹는 문화는 정말 사라져야 합니다. 왜 이런교육이 가정에서 학교에서 안할까요. 왜 우리 엄마는 조용히 먹는데 아빠는 후루룩 짭짭을 할까요. 팔을 괴고 대가리 쳐박고 설렁탕 먹는 모습도 사라져야 합니다. 나는 남자입니다.

    Good that you don’t drink. Anyone who has to drink alcohol on dates is possibly an alcoholic already. Drinking & mukbang culture in Korea went too far.

    • @francoismarc3

      I used to drink in college and my first year here in Korea. I had no friends, so the people I hung out with always drank, thus, I drank too. After the first year learning about the country, I only drank on special occasions. Now, I'm alcohol free for almost 2 and 1/2 years! Usually, many women don't want to date me if I dint drink.
