Both sets are Mk3 carriages. The early Hornby ones were done shorter to work around sharper corners and fit on layouts with not as much room

Very nice coaches and a bargain price
The smaller coaches often refured to as shorties were made for older trainsets running tight radius curves.
im a huge fan of the 43s
