    "Coffee is the only exception." Yup. She was a Finn alright! But how did she manage to pack all of that living into just 53 years?! With everything she accomplished, I thought she would have made it into her 80s! Thank you for telling this amazing lady's story!

    I love how you pluck the cantherells in your moss green skirt in that pine forest. So much sensations. Interesting video. Well done!

    Beautiful work! I wonder what color Minna's blouse was. I think it was pink or light blue ❤ She would be thrilled to see you reproduce her work. Hey you mentioned an Anna Lisa, that is my name. My Danish mother named me Anne Lise.

      Thanks! I don’t know eithet the original color of the blouse. In my mind it is light beige with green embroidery but it could be almost anything. Anna-Liisa in Minna’s story had a very tragic life but the play is good.

    I love this! ❤ I actually wrote a theology paper on Minna Canth. There's a couple really good biographies of her, at least in Finnish!

      Yes! I should read more of them. Now I was forced just to browse the longer one I had as I also wanted to read some of Minna’s work. Not that I was completely ignorant of them but there are still many important works I haven’t read.

    Lovely episode. How was it like to wear that crinoline? I thought about the embroidery of her blouse - the offset - maybe since she was a bit of a rebel she did it on purpose. I like your recreation better.sewing was a mainstay chore in Minna's day, but today it's an art so few practice. Thank you.

    • @withmyhandsdream
      @withmyhandsdream  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! I love the crinoline look but it is very impractical. It is almost impossible to move around without something falling! The blouse was made during Minna’s ”I’m going to be the perfect little housewife”-years, so maybe not rebellious. But yes, sewing is a sort of luxury nowadays, a hobby one can choose. You don’t need to sew in order to keep yourself and your family clothed.

    Voihan vihne kun tuli upea, rakastin tätä! Ja vielä enemmän siksi että rakastan myös Minnaa. Tuo TV:n garibaldi-kaava on muuten mahtava, siitä on tullut ihan mun luottotavaraa. Uskaltaisikohan itsekin kokeilla tätä Minna-versiota, oon aina ihaillen katsellut tuota kirjontaa...
