Those are beautiful, I would just set and look at them. I wouldn’t want to wear them out or get them dirty! You are so very talented with all the stuff you do.

these look very nice and warm! may I ask where you got the pattern for the shoes?

It is from a Finnish book called ”Tallukkaat”. However, a better way would be to take pattern straight from the lasts. That way you could get the boot fit better on the last. @NicoleRudolph has some videos on how to do it.

Hello Katja. This is such a great tutorial on how you made your boots. I've been wanting to make my own shoes or boots for a while and just haven't had the time. This makes me feel that I can achieve a good result myself. May I ask if you had the last made especially for your foot size? I was wondering if I could manage to make these without having a last as I thought they were expensive to buy and I use mainly thrifted materials when I sew and craft.
I feel you've set me on the path of making a pair of boots for myself and I'll link you to my own video when I eventually get round to doing it. Thank you.

I have found my lasts in a thrift store. However, you can also buy them from Etsy or you could try to ask a local shoemaker for a source. I do wonder if one could use a person’s foot with the right shoe size as a last. Perhaps one could pin the sole in place while the other person was wearing the shoe?

Thank you for your reply. I'll see what I can find or just try and fit to my own foot somehow 👍

They are beautiful! How long did it take you to make them?

I didn’t really rush with this project and took long breaks. I could make these in a few days easily and without working myself into sweat.

These are lovely, but I liked your first pair better. The colorful embroidery was so perfect. Can you tell me where you found your thimble? I don't have that kind, but i want one!

I use Clover brand thimbles. I love them as they can be adjusted to fit your finger. If I only could find them every time I sew!
