Your shawl is so beautiful, you are skilled, methodical and have lots of patience. Looking forward to exploring more of your chanel.
So beautiful! I love that you obviously put your heart into this shawl. You should be very proud of your work.
I just came across your channel and subscribed. I am looking forward to looking at more of your videos. I love your skirts and hope there will be some tips on weaving/sewing skirts like yours...
Thank you! I hope you find some good tips. Also, if you want more details, I have more stuff on my blog. I originally posted only there until I switched doing mainly video.
I love all Handcrafted things and I'm always interested in learning new stuff like knitting, crocheting, sewing and so on. I've always had the fascinated urge to learn how to weave and your video inspired me to finally start it! For sure I'm a beginner and won't buy such a big weaving table, but I will start with a small beginner friendly weaving frame 😅❤
What you made in the video looks gorgeous! You can be so proud of yourself ❤
Thank you! I think that figuring out a new technique is part of the fun! I think of it as solving a puzzle.
Gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your process. I watched this while I was crocheting a sweater, so cozy.
Thank you! When I edit my videos, I usually think what kind of videos I like to watch when I do my crafts! So I’m glad to hear someone crocheting and watching this!
Tucson Arizona USA and love your show ☺I got some friend in Helsinki, I don't know where?. The colours are great and please show more of Finnish, folks weaving and art works thank you and I am looking for more ☺.
Absolutely brilliant video - thank you!!!! And a beautiful piece of art - be proud!
Thank you!
Beautiful work and well presented.
That's a crazy amount of work!
Wonderful work, and thank you for the historical insight.
The shawl is beautiful. I think you did a marvelous job on it.
Thank you!
I enjoyed watching this so Much. You are so knowledgeable about weaving. That is very lovely skirt you are wearing for the reveal.
Thank you! The skirt is a hand-woven Finnish skirt with ikat-dyed pattern. It belongs to one of our national costumes!
Beautiful! And I know the process of warping a loom. My girlfriend learned to weave and did it until health issues caused her to stop. We still have the looms, but they're in storage. I wondered how long the process took for you. And I love how the seam is completely invisible, at least from a distance. I'd take up weaving, but if I brought one more craft into our house I think my family would rebel.
As for what kinds of things I'd like to see, I can't choose. I love all your work. Though, I just had a thought. You may have done this already, but I wonder if you knew how to do Nialbinding. I think I spelled that correctly. I've been seeing a lot of people talking about it and Morgan Donner kind of showed how to do it in the video where she, her husband, and their two dogs moved across the U.S., but she didn't really go into detail. Basically here's a bodkin-type needle, here's some yarn, and this is how it's done. She took less than 10 minutes giving very short instructions and the set out to make a hat during the drive. (It took them about 3 days because dogs need walking. Plus the US is big from east to west.) So that's my only suggestion.
Wow, so much work just to get things set up!
Yes. That’s why weavers usually build a long warp and weave several rugs/shawls/whatever in one go. It takes about as much time to build a warp than it takes to weave the shawl.
I loved your video! So inspiring! I have a 24 inch wide rigid heddle loom which I use for weaving kitchen towels. Maybe I will weave a shawl someday. Your handwork is amazing!

Amazing work :) you have some great channel , thank you for sharing 😊
Beautiful!! Just found your channel and loved the video. ❤️
Another beautiful creation, your videos are a joy to watch during breakfast before heading to the sewing room. Love the shawl and enjoyed a glimpse of your shopping trip for more wool. What did you find in the antique shop? I wouldn't have been able to pass that by either. Thanks again
Thanks! I didn’t buy anything but now I have started visiting it whenever I am nearby. There are so many gorgeous things but I can’t possibly buy them all!
@@withmyhandsdream I could spend all day in antique shops, so many treasures and totally agree it's not possible to buy them all...but looking is fun too.
I love it
great job!
Absolutely stunning.
Very beautiful!
beautiful shawl! Love the detailed video!
Beautiful work :)
That’s a beautiful shawl 😻😻 I would love one like that!
Kiitos paljon hyvästä videosta!🤗 Tuli kyllä upea shaali.❤ Itsellä myös pienet puut odottaa kasaamista ja olipa ilahduttavaa oppia, että voisin noilla omilla pikkupuillakin tehdä isomman työn tuolla tyylillä.
Minun puissa kun tukin leveys on vain 80cm.
Beautiful shawl construction. Your seam is hidden by the brushing. Did you full the shawl after you finished it? I love that you looked up the history of this shawl.😄
No, I just brushed it.
Your shawl is beautiful. I have never seen a loom like yours. Is it made by a company in Finland? Your channel is very interesting.
Thank you! My loom was made by a Finnish company called Varpapuu that doesn’t exist anymore. I don’t know if anyone elae makes looms like this but it is not a model that is common.
Thanks for the video. I Love your shawl! It’s really gorgeous. I wondered what brand/model your loom is?
My loom was made by Varpapuu, a Finnish company that doesn’t exist anymore.
@@withmyhandsdream thank you!
Fascinating work. What loom is that? I don’t recognize the model.
I have no idea. I bought it used and it has no markings of any kind. It is very old and worn and many of the original parts have been replaced. It still works fine, though!
Another top quality project. Are you a teacher?
Thanks and no. I’m not a teacher but I do have some teaching experience.
