Thank you, every time I got into my wife’s car it smelled like wet dog and mold every time you turn the air on, swapped it out while watching your video. Now the air smells regular and fresh. oh yeah, the filter that was in her car was never replaced, and it was completely black 💀 😅.
This took me like 2 hours to do with all the nuts in awkward places. I would recommend doing this during the daytime as well. This video helped a ton though
Standard procedure is to cut off the plastic bracket that is in front of the metal bracket during the first filter replacement. Just use a knife or small saw or Dremel tool and cut it off as wide as possible. You also don't have to take the side panel parts off.
Honda took a stupid pill when they designed this access to the cabin filter!! My sons 2009 Accord has the filter sitting above the glovebox and you don’t even have to remove the box!! Just reach up above the glovebox and remove the filter!! Duhhhhh Honda!!
Apparently, it was not your first time removing the glove box and accessing the filter drawer. You had already removed the horizontal plastic bar blocking the cabin filter. If you hadn't, you are not the original owner. :)
I have an '07 Honda Pilot as well and never changed it. Now I feel like i have to bro haha. Thanks for the video. 👍
Great video ! Thanks for showing what is a stupid construction for access to the cabin filter.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge 🙏
Same here. However my 2007 honda pilot has a plastic bracket that remains in front of the air filter after removing the metal backet.

Just use snips to cut that away. It is just cosmetic.
