Only new unkown cheat programs wouldn't get instantly detected but even those wouldn't survive long until blizz had figured them out. What is going on today is just embarrassing
15 years ago when you said you play blizz games you had a time of your life and everyone around you who couldnt play was jealous. Now are the times that when you say you play blizz games you should be ashamed.
i vividly remember watching a video on youtube of someone fly hacking back in the day in shattrath, of all places, and he was perma banned within 9 seconds from the point he was off of the ground. not sure if it still exists, its been like 14+ years, but yeah, blizzard did have a solid anticheat back then.
Blizzard was the company that created the reputation that created their fanboys. They banned bots instantly, people got banned for goldbuying. English Servers were English and only had players from North Americas on their servers, GMs were actual people and even monitored raids covertly. It was a completely different era altogether. Almost feels like a different dimension. This modern corpse we call Blizzard is sick. I stopped playing their games years ago for this reason.
@@MrMittenshasatophat The "soul vs soulless" meme gets said a lot in regards to stuff it doesn't really apply to, but in the case of old vs nu blizzard the term soulless is the only thing that comes close to accurately describing their disgusting practice of business and what they have become
this company doesnt act like this. No video has any impact on their actions. They only act if the fire is already inside their house and most of the house is already burnt. Otherwise they dont care. Back in the day blizzard kept their games nice and treated them with respect and passion. Now the only people that care about the game are the players. And dont tell me about developers who still want to make game better but the director says... Just stop. If they cared about game, they would leave blizz and start a private server.
This is one of the main reasons that I quit. Blizzard would rather have their games filled with bots while they lose actual players and longtime fans. It's an easily solvable issue, they just choose to do nothing about it. Stop giving money to Blizzard's rotting corpse.
Some bots might be hard to detect but Blizzard has to at least clear out the obvious. Then they could implement better logging tools to catch harder cases. Instead we have a system that allows auto bans and Blizzard says that all reports are checked.
Well, i don't want to defend blizzard here, since blizzard hast lost all it's credibility by this point. But you have to consider botting is only a problem, because people are willing to buy gold with real money. If there was noone buying gold, the bots wouldn´t have a reson to farm gold. So the players are partially accountable for this problem.
@@mariuslehmann9291So we should allow the actions of a few players to completely ruin the game for everyone? There isn't a single online game that doesn't have to deal with cheaters. @@abaddon6579 even though I had fun on Kronos as well, I don't think it's superior to turtle wow in any way. Hybrid classes are finally somewhat balanced, so you are not forced to be healbot endgame. Speed hacks and fly hacks are acutally the easiest thing in the world to detect and ban for. As its all data being passed to the server, processed on the server. If a player is moving too fast, or is flying in an area not on a flight path. Ban. Its really that simple.
I'm sick of the players complaining about Blizzard but still pay to play the game. You are directly contributing to this shit. Quit and play a different game until they are forced to fix it.

The bots are paying customers. Letting them do their thing for a bit before doing a ban wave makes EVERYONE happy. Blizzard has constant new monthly subs from the huge bots. The botters make a living having bots do their thing. The real players can just spend real money to get gold and not farm themselves. Oh I guess theres the 99% of the human playerbase who hates them and doesnt enjoy the economy being destroyed by them but who cares about that part. Howdy Aza! There is a bot on the alliance side in bgs botting for over 5 months allready. We still report him with my friends, but nothing... Absolutely nothing. 😥
I think the issue ends up with how to actually manage. Private servers have handful of players compered to real wow so they can easily have mods to manage invidually. When again on wow we talk about tens of thousands accounts. And because players themself fund the RMT bisness you can endlesly reapeat the scripts of making new accounts. One solution would be autobans for flying or diving into group, untill it causes new issues like people buging mid flight/dropping throught the ground and getting permabanned. This again causes a new problem of players getting permabanned by bugs/clips. Renevue system is ofc the easy solution untill you realise that botters can also script this and spam the tickets non stop. Best way to combat bots would be bank account vertified accounts or just simply ban GKDP activities or those that are the main reason for ppl to do it.
Well, I quit the game like 5 months ago, got a 60 on HC - was in a top raiding guild in WotLK, and yeah, lost all interest after GDKPs, wowtoken and bots.

I leveled my first character on hardcore to 60 without dying or any problems. I think you are delusional, when u describe me as a retail person
To be fair, of course, botting was always a part of WoW, I know that. and maybe gdkp, But they never bothered me so much that it felt irrelevant to waste any time on this game.
I get it's annoying there are bots in the game, but I still don't understand the LEVEL of outrage people have over it. As a regular player there's no noticeable negative to botting, especially if the bots are in dungeons. Sure it causes inflation, but unless you're raw gold farming (which you shouldn't be), your gold/hr simply rises with inflation. Why do people get so upset about it?
The outrage only exists on youtube, lol. It's a loud minority. Bots exist because people are buying gold. Players vote with their wallets for the bots to be a thing.
Creating anti cheat engine would cost money (and some negative reactions being an invasive softwate).Paying GMs to do the check manual costs money. Blizzard should add "Summon a GM" token where you pay a small fee for a quick response from a GM :P
Imagine, Blizzard, a multi-billion dollar corporation, struggling to curb hackers, while small, underfunded private servers are effectively fortifying against them.
Glad I'm on the PVE cluster. Haven't seen a bot in the wild for like 6 months at least, and there is not many in dungeons. And why is that? Because people that play PVE are less likely to buy gold. If no one buys gold, the bots will go away because there is no money to make. But as long as people are willing to pay real money for in game gold there will be bots. Players create a demand, both are just filling this demand. Instead of banning the bots permaban people that buy gold. It doesn't hurt getting banned an account you never played on and that already made you thousands of dollars. It does hurt to get permabanned in you account from 2005. If people started permabanning gold buyers on mass, the demand for botted gold would go down drastically, and then the amount of bots would go down drastically too. No point in botting if none wants to buy your gold. The problem isn't the botters. It's the people buying the gold.
''we pay real money to play this game'' that's the thing though, you can just stop throwing money at this shit company, but people still do it for some reason and by doing that you'll keep enabling them. Find a private server that cares more of their playerbase than Blizzard ever did.
Gold has spiraled out of control, mainly due to GDKP's. I think blizz should implement a feature in loot where you have the option of making loot in a raid "bind to guild." In practice, selecting this option would put loot directly in the guild bank (yes, I know blizz would need to make guild banks in classic, but no one would complain about that). Once said loot is in the guild bank, then folks with the bank rights and control would have a selection feature where they can give a certain piece of loot to a person in the guild for a certain amount of time, once the time is expired the loot goes directly back to the bank. Obviously you wouldn't have to do this with every piece, but high ticket items that don't drop all the time, and it would allow loot for classes like druids and others to not be wasted so people could have alts.
yes, that would be perfect feature to make boosting guilds store all gear and selling it to new invited players for $. Great one, everyone could gear their character in 10 minutes. No need of GDKP !
@@Yoxdaa you didn't read my entire post. My suggestion is that a player can only borrow the loot from the guild for a certain amount of time. And I'd probably add a feature where only people who were in the guild at the time of acquiring the loot have access to it. One bonereavers edge can't be used by multiple people at a time, just one.
Its weird to me, everyone complains about bots blablabla, yet everyone is decked out in the biggest items, throwing consumes every fight like candy, the people want to buy Gold on era and in wow in general, its a community made problem
I remember like 10 years ago I used fly hack on a private server. And got teleported back every time I tried to use it. After couple of attempts I got banned.

Gold on most Classic servers is like 1,000 gold for $6. That's 10,000 gold for $60. Even if Blizzard does something about the bots, the damage has already been done.
i logged in right after maximal 2 minutes after server reset, strath was alreaddy full (50+). i killed with a warrior chad from 3:50 to 4:10 70+ bots. its a great new bg
blizzard doesn't really have any incentive to do anything about it aside from integrity and motivation to keep the game good which they have none of. They've probably calculated that it is a net profit to keep the bots around to do what they do and it would be a net loss to get rid of them.
There used to be a blizz employee who would actively go after botters then go to botting websites and take screencaps of the people crying that they got banned. Wish blizzard would hire people like him who actually cared about the game again instead of whatever they hired now.
When i saw that dwarf paladin, i was appalled... How can such a honorable dwarf stoop this low? this problem has gotten so bad that now even my fellow dwarf paladins are stooping this low? Disgusting.
Every big company has the same issue, and they do nothing. Riot games has a problem with bots for 6 years, people are buying accounts that have been leveled by bots and it plagued the game to the point where there is 40% of the accounts playing ranked being bot leveled. They do nothing and people quit playing.
I thought this video was a joke made on a private server. Went to EPL last night with my buddy and he was mind visioning these bots on Whitemane for about an hour. It was literally a nonstop train of flying bots.. am blown away. If bots can get us temp banned by mass reporting would a short term solution be to get a guild to go to the EPL and mass report these bots so at least a portion of the bots are banned for a few weeks? Possibly longer?
because they added in flying in tbc you absolutely idiotic third worlder. thanks for ruining the game experience. you are why we need to ban other countries from our servers.
Reported a group of 50+ level 58 Death knights farming BRD for fiery enchants. 39 day ticket avg response time, they said they "Did something but cannot say what". All they need to do is hire a handful of people 15-16$ an hour to proactively search the world for these players. It would be so easy and quick to figure this out. It's all a result of lack of in-game moderation. Pure and simple.
@@ForOne814 Then how come private servers i played on like 12-14 years ago had it so you would get instant dc after flying just a little above the ground? first dc then ban if repeated.

@@VegardLa in order to determine that you're flying, the sever checks for your coordinates and evaluates them. If there are irregularites, it dcs you. Like, for example, when you fall under the map in open world, you get into a dc loop. It's a 20 year old game full of spaghetti code. Bugs are the norm. I dunno why it's possible to easily fly in classic but not on retail, but my guess is because some abilities rely on some part of the code that causes the ability to fly. Ban waves happen every other day, actually. It's only the big ban waves that happen every couple of months. There are ways to ensure that bots get banned quickly. Botters actually get rid of competition by mass reporting their accounts in a certain way. Though, it's on retail, I dunno about classic, I don't bot there. It's just way less profitable than on retail.
Not paying them sub fees will bring attention. But Blizzard has been ignoring problems for longer than I can put my finger on anymore. I haven't paid these hacks since the release of WC3 Reforged. They're the king of false promises, laziness, groping, drinking, and making money hand over fist while doing it. Remember, game design and decisions stopped being decided on for their enjoyability a long time ago, their investors and execs are the game designers now through and through. Stop paying them.
Even worse now, in the main EU cluster the bots organized some mafia for the boosting. If you dare offering a lower price than them, they camp you 24/7 with rogues, making you unable to boost. So they can manage prices as they wish.
Blizzard makes more money off the botting problem than they would by fixing it. In a world where 0.0000001% of a profit margin matters blizzard will only do piecemeal, 'flashy' shows of mass bans once every 6 months, but then the botters and sellers are back 2 days later. It's a capitalism problem. People demand to buy gold instead of farm it, so the botters supply it and make money, probably paying people at blizzard in as part of the deal.
You want to get rid of bots? Easy. - implement personal loot so it's impossible to buy loot - make all nodes personal so it's impossible to lock down black lotus and so on - make the auction house cross-realm so it's impossible to monopolize resources like debilsaur leather unless you do it on every single realm simultaneously - remove the ranking system from classic pvp rewards and instead use honorable kills only, which bots are bad at getting If you think Blizzard is going to hire enough GMs to monitor their hundreds of thousands of players, you're mistaken. If you think they should promote players to do it, consider how fucking toxic some parts of the raid scene are and what a bad idea it would be for those people to have GM tools. No, the only way to fix the problem is to remove every reason to bot in the first place. And even IF they did this, fishing, mining, and herbing bots would still exist. But at least those bots won't ruin the game for everyone when they can't lock down resources.

Classic WoW probably includes only the 15 year old anticheat for "authenticity"

Blizzard Sees Video*
Blizzard: I know the perfect solution. Lets introduce the WoW Token to Classic ERA. This will reduce RMT and as a result botting
this company doesnt act like this.
Trying to lay blame at the feet of innocent players is a bad take, and certainly doesn't get us closer to a solution.
@@chrisseger2346 Well, i dont think it's the action of a few players. I think a very large percentage of players are buying gold.
I'm not saying blizzard shouldn´t hire GM's. That would be the solution to the problem.
I mystelf resorted to the method of playing on private servers again. There is much less RMT hence less botting. Also there are GM's.
@@mariuslehmann9291 Complete conjecture.
Either way, it would be pretty much a non-issue if Blizzard just did something about it.

Just curious, because I have no clue, but what are the mages doing (purpose) for going up and out the tower?
It's not a tower, they go down at the entrance of stratholme baron and they aoe farm the dungeon 24h/24
They fly hack since players find out that there is so many bots doing the route from chapelle to stratholme, that it is litteraly worth it to grind them for honor
So now they fly hack
Blizzard doesn't even need a gm, just add a zone at the top of the tree that auto-bans them a day later.
Sheesh. This is worse than I thought. The devs clearly know about this, but for some reason they're not allowed to do anything. I want a whistleblower to tell why.
The bots all pay a monthly sub!
Honestly just play on a private server they have less bots and better service. Yet again we live in an age where "pirates" get the superior experience.

The real truth is that blizzard could not care less about normal players, a botter pays for 40 accounts and you pay for one.
It seams easier to run down and mass report bots as a guild / raid, than blizzard acting and doing something.
don't think it's the communities responsibility to go around moderating the game, got me fucked up if you think im paying $20 a month to do blizzards job for them
I remember when classic era came out a little while back, before season of mastery, I played a Night Elf rogue. I was in Arathi Highlands, and camped a player using bots for 3 hours straight. After that time went by, I got a nasty whisper for the player that was using the bots. I reported him, and a day later, never saw him again.

Just imagine having employees in your company, then you can actually fight the botting issue, but good thing that the WoW Token does basically the same for them lol.
For the first time ever I can honestly say I hope Asmon reacts to this so the message will blow the fuck up.

Math is simple:
Do bots give Blizzard Money? Yes. So why do shit against it?
You look sexy I fits you

I get it's annoying there are bots in the game, but I still don't understand the LEVEL of outrage people have over it. As a regular player there's no noticeable negative to botting, especially if the bots are in dungeons. Sure it causes inflation, but unless you're raw gold farming (which you shouldn't be), your gold/hr simply rises with inflation. Why do people get so upset about it?
The outrage only exists on youtube, lol. It's a loud minority. Bots exist because people are buying gold. Players vote with their wallets for the bots to be a thing.

Whats the point of bots? Is it a gold farming thing? Do people use them to level alts of something?

Ban waves happen every other day, actually. It's only the big ban waves that happen every couple of months. There are ways to ensure that bots get banned quickly. Botters actually get rid of competition by mass reporting their accounts in a certain way. Though, it's on retail, I dunno about classic, I don't bot there. Remember, game design and decisions stopped being decided on for their enjoyability a long time ago, their investors and execs are the game designers now through and through. Stop paying them.

If you dare offering a lower price than them, they camp you 24/7 with rogues, making you unable to boost. So they can manage prices as they wish.
I wonder if we'll ever see the Lich King defeated by bots, but as a world first.
People demand to buy gold instead of farm it, so the botters supply it and make money, probably paying people at blizzard in as part of the deal.
in retail the moment you are detected to fly hak you get anti booted, why is that not a thing in classic?
You want to get rid of bots? Easy.
- implement personal loot so it's impossible to buy loot
- make all nodes personal so it's impossible to lock down black lotus and so on
- make the auction house cross-realm so it's impossible to monopolize resources like debilsaur leather unless you do it on every single realm simultaneously
- remove the ranking system from classic pvp rewards and instead use honorable kills only, which bots are bad at getting
If you think Blizzard is going to hire enough GMs to monitor their hundreds of thousands of players, you're mistaken.
