Hello, I live in Nova Scotia. We are a LARGE ish province.
You will do just fine. Fires in smallish area of province.
Lots of room to explore without risk. Welcome.

Hubs was a general contractor for 40 years...together we built many homes. This episode takes me way back to the blissful madness of residential construction. I miss it so. Thanks for the memories...can't wait to see the reveal! 🙂 By the way...excellent editing in this video...great stories unfolding in marvelous ways!

I’m not sure where exactly you ware going in Nova Scotia but one thing to note: when there are forest fires in an area, the campgrounds/hotels are needed for locals and neighbouring towns that are affected by fires. Depending on the size of forest fires - huge in Nova Scotia, have put many people out of their homes, these campgrounds may be needed for quite a while and tourist should find somewhere else to go. Canada is having it’s worst fire season in history and our summer hasn’t even begun yet so anybody wanting to travel to Canada or through Canada should make sure that they are not going to an area that is affected by forest fires.

Since we live in St Petersburg, when we saw the "closed Lazydays campground" sign and it was dark... we thought no way they started in St Pete, we can get there in 30-40 min...lol then we watched the video. Now that is real life, lets get going even if it is only over the bridge! Hope the smoke clears and you have a great trip. We will be watching.

Love the look of the truck with the cab on. superb. No worries at all with the fires. All the Nova Scotia fires are out. Amazing what a week of rain will do. Still some fires in Quebec but not an issue for you if you are going towards Montreal or Quebec City. Your analysis of keeping going until we cannot is spot on. Looking forward to the rest of your trip. As always, safe travels....

14:30-We're weekend warriors. I'm literally watching this video on our TT bed, half made exactly the way Trish described in the video. 😂 Though our rescue boxer has her whole body tucked into the top of the bed, so I'll use that as the rationale for why I didn't finish making it!

Glad to see you're going to visit some Canadian provinces! Don't pass over New Brunswick though! On your way back, you can see some pretty cool things by following Route 1 from Moncton, NB to Fundy National Park and the newly opened Fundy Trail. You can then continue along Route 1 to St. Stephen, NB and Calais, ME where you can find your way to Bar Harbor via US 1. It's a pretty scenic route with lots to see!

Impact driver is much more useful IMO. Leave the Drill behind, take the impact driver but get a set of Drill bits with a 1/4" shank to fit in the impact driver. One less tool to carry and will work for most of you needs.

Nova Scotia is fine - it was bad, but most areas are fine.....can’t say it will last but fingers crossed! When you come, you need to come down to my end of the province! The Annapolis Valley, lots of farms, good wineries, breweries and other tasty treats! Lots of good food too! Don’t forget to try donairs! If you want any suggestions - reach out and I will help however I can. You also have to do the South Shore, and Cape Breton # 1 for scenery in the Maritimes!!!

The house looks fantastic, and it was like a bees nest with all the workers/commotion going on. Hope you’re doing well and all is well with your travels. Hi Folks, just watched your vlog and I'm waiting to see your next one. I am from Nova Scotia and I suggest if you are going to see the Cabot Trail, I would take the Highway to Whycocmagh and follow the west coast to Cheticamp and enter the trail through the National Park. The views are much better from this direction and you can continue on to Baddeck and Sydney . There are some really nice hiking trails and camp grounds along the trail as well. Welcome to Nova Scotia and enjoy yourselves.

Oh Trish......those avocados get much bigger! A huge branch cracked and fell off my tree last year from the weight of the fruit. I filled two wheel barrels with green avocados that I had to throw out! And, although this could be a different species tree.....generally speaking, the trees that grow in Florida are not the tiny Hass a avocados you are used to buying in groceries.

You will love Nova Scotia - some of our most memorable: The Dorymans pub in Cheticamp (make sure there’s music), rafting the Fundy tidal bore and dinner at Wild Caraway (yes it was worth making that reservation). And mussels for lunch or dinner every time we ate out in PEI. PEI/Nova Scotia was our first long (6 weeks) trip just to see if we could …. Traded in the hybrid for an Airstream and haven’t looked back…3 to 4 months road trips now and each time we can’t wait to get back to it. Enjoy!

Channel locks, a good Phillips and Flat head screwdrivers, duct tape, and a hammer are my basic tool set(s) for the RV. I have a plethora of additional tools that I keep in the truck, but those five "tools" (quotation marks because should you really consider duct tape as a tool) take care of 90% of my needs day-to-day. For example, I am pushin' 70 and have a difficult time trying to remove the cap to the sewer outlet. The flat screwdriver and the hammer give me an easy way to remove the cap. The channel lock ensures I can tighten and loosen my water hoses as well as tighten the adjustment knobs on the Blackstone stand. It seems like most interior screw require a Phillips head screwdriver. I only have three years experience RVing, but since we have spent progressively long times each year in the RV (3.5, 5.5, and 6.2 months this year), I think I'm somewhat qualified to give my opinion. We're currently two months into a 6.2 month Western RV trip and it's going well (so far).
