The lament of not finding the clips in a fire fight would translate to just about any clip/magazine fired weapons you can think of. No one's policing mags when lead is flying. Finding ammo/clips scrounging is pretty much a no-go, but i think the carcano could find a place as a last ditch grab and go, a handout, cache weapon, there are options for their use, but as a primary choice, only if i was dirt poor and it was a step up from a sharp stick.
True , in that type of situation we won’t have a supply chain to restock from . I like & enjoy my bolt action rifles , yet there are better firearms to use , the AR & AK . Lighter weight , higher mag capacity , more common ammo . Using those mags , to me , you would have a better chance of retaining them then the enbloc or stripper clips . If something happened & I could take all my rifles & ammo with me to my parents , I would be using the Carcano ‘s for hunting before using some of my other caliber rifles . Thank you for watching the video and your thoughts on the subject
Most of mine do not , except my M91/41 . The problem I experience is the last bullet in the enbloc will nose upwards and not chamber , which might be because of the enbloc clip
Great rifles, but in my opinion, no, it’s not all too viable for SHTF. 6.5 carcano is not a common caliber., and it’s expensive. Unless you have a large stockpile of ammo and/or it’s all you’ve got.
I feel the awful sights and horrible clips work against them. But they are rugged weapons. The type I is a whole different animal which I consider on par with most mausers.
I would say the caverley carbine would be the best at home given its small size and the foldable bayonet, I think most milsurp bolt actions would suffer similar issues in a SHTF. Need for clips for quick reloading and avability of ammo.
I agree , having the cavalry carbine would be lighter weight , handle quickly & better in close quarters ,which translates to being out in the woods/ brush. It would be better then the long infantry rifle . Original Carcano enbloc clips work the best , yet still have issues , better then the steel clips

@@milsurprifleguy7091 Yap all of my carcanos do that on the last round. It's for sure the en block clip the repo clips suck. RUSTY.

True , not a common caliber that a lot of people would be using , because when yours is gone , it is gone . If it is all you have , you use it

At some point I will have a video on why I would use these rifles ,in a limited capacity & my reason for doing so
