Been using this on my 2002 walk around trophy bayliner boat for 5 straight years now In the harsh Atlantic ocean off coast of Newfoundland. Place 2 extra coats every year before setting the boat back into the ocean for 3 straight months and the shine is insane. See no reason to ever stop using using this product!

Nice video! Put this on a really faded fiberglass camper. Worked and looked amazing for about a year. Hardest part was striping all the flaky old polish off to redo it again. Was so happy to find Zep remover, it worked really well and the new coat is awesome :]

Mind giving an update on how long it lasted, how it looked WHEN it needed to be redone, how you cared for it after, etc?

The boat has since been sold. The coating lasted about a year in the FL sun & heat. It needed to be reapplied (2 coats) to bring it back to looking like this. What we noticed after 2 years is it needed to be completely stripped off to start the process over again because the gel coat started to fade again. The stripping process was of course very difficult.

Detailers out a business, who details a boat?

Marine Service Technician here, we just got a boat in with the absolute worst damaged gelcoat I have ever seen which has ruined it's resale value. I had no idea what they could have done to the boat I assumed it was an old ceramic/polymer coating that had started to peel. No the guy used floor Polish. I had never heard of this until today and I've been in the industry for years. I legitimately laughed uncontrollablely when I heard what the client had done.
Don't do this, you'll ruin your boat.

How does it ruin your boat ?

    • @JeremyGlassRealtor

Actually there is a company called Polyglow that has been selling a gelcoat sealant for a very long time. It definitely does not ruin a boat nor did it hurt the resale value when we sold this boat. It is easily stripped off with the remover made by Zep.

I totally disagree!! Been using it on my 2002 trophy bayliner walk around boat now for 5 years straight. Every year I place on 2 new coats and it looks amazing again with a insane shine

I've got a 1999 Sportcraft that had been acid washed so many times you burn through the gelcoat trying to buff, this may be the only cure short of a full re-gelcoat of which the boat is not worth.

Not a good idea because It turns white when it gets wet
