As an industrial electrician who does panel building & installation, bespoke machine & instrumentation building/wiring/installing etc 70mm is a pretty common size for me and dare I say even on the small side compared to what I’m used to. There seems to be very few what I’d consider industrial sparks on TH-cam nearly everything is aimed towards domestic sparks. This is not a criticism of you guys at all as you had 70mm tri rated there at your disposal - but the comment of not many people encounter that size cable every day I can only assume would apply to a domestic only electrician or DIY person. Anyway nice tool, I’d consider adding one to my kit if it wasn’t for the dedicated cable sheers of various sizes and other electricians scissors I have in my toolbox. Great vid really showed what this tool can do.
To trim excess copper at the tip of the ferrules, the oval cutting area (for cutting cables) works much better because it does not crush (flatten) the tip of the ferrule.
@@efixx I'm not seeing seeing the paid promotion notice at the start of the video. As you know it is UK law to disclose paid promotions since the ASA ruling in 2014 so if Most TH-camrs are not doing so they risk prosecution. Please understand that I am not being antagonistic, I very much enjoy your videos. I just like to know how objective your reviews are, we all have unconscious bias.
I've got a pair of those straight Knipex scissors and love them. I find I use them for most cutting tasks except if I'm making a long cut and then the long pair of scissors come out. Those Knipex scissors really are multiuse and that angled version looks even better. Side note. Did you see the t-shirt that Knipex sells that shows how to pronounce their name? Maybe it's your 'Bri-ish' accent but you guys have to get that shirt.
Can't wait to get cutters like that with the rounded slot for wire, to use as pruners in the garden. Why?? Oh why?? are secateurs traditionally the shape they are with the rounded knife blade. Good vid. Keep them coming. Martin.
One of these days, electrical TH-cam presenters will discover the magic lost art of stripping their cables to the right length so that they don't have masses of strands hanging out the end.
If they crimped up to 16mm bootlaces, with torque/ratchet I'd get them as in the mining industry in Australia this is as large as we go, and I can remove the crimpers from my tool bag.
I have an older version and I am very satisfied. My version is made in Italy by Fumasi. Knipex actually does not manufacture scissors and screwdrivers. They are rebranded, but the quality is very good.
Oh, how did you work it out? There’s a companion iOS app that gives you complete control of the cutting modes and, in the event you somehow misplace it, helps you locate your missing scissors via GPS tracking. It even counts how many cuts and crimps you’ve went through.
Previous model of 95 05 20 SB is not 95 05 10. Is 95 05 20 simple (without SB), wich have approximally the same shape except the design of handels. This model, SB, look more ergonomically frendly, especially for guys with big hands.
@@RsFrag3d Thank you for this correction. Anyway, if you type one of those two codes (with and without SB), and search with Google Images, you will see the difference between the old tipe and the new one (that meaning the real „previous” model and the new one).

Im here just to see if the 70mm is enough because i bought the others not big enough car install
I use an opinel folding knife for boxes. Cheap but very sharp. Knipex are great. You guys should work at QVC
Good Christmas clip guys . Those scissors are wild ,Ferrell and a cut above the rest . Iv been LED into buying a pair.
Your resistance against temptation was shocking!
Now cut that out 😂
Might get a pair of those they look like they might come in handy . For stuff other than electrical.
Nice review . Great video as always guy’s 👍

Love the angled scissors. The straight ones not so much for 6 gauge wire

The ferrule is going to get crushed in a screw terminal; anyway.
@@mfx1 How tight are you doing your terminals up?!
@@CurvedSlightly Doesn't take much to squash a soft ferrule look at any that have been used in properly tightened screw terminals.
I thought ferrules etc were meant to be done with ratchet crimps?
Apparently it’s possible without such a mechanism it would seem.
You can get lots of manual crimpers
Nice tool. Thanks for sharing guys. 🎅
Thanks Brian
I wish these came with a plastic sheath as their non angled counterparts do
Good feedback 👍
Now these scissors look appropriate for electrical work.
"Tethered tool system". Love it.
Surprised they weren't cutting and solid copper? 14 or 12 Guage would be neat to see.
Are these Knipex tool reviews sponsored or influenced by Knipex in any way ?
Yeah
Probably, given how much they bang on about their tools, but there’s no doubt that they deserve it.
Nice tools but I got know response from them a time ago when I asked about there tools so that says it all
Knipex send us most of their new tools for electricians and we disclose this as a paid partnership at the start of the video. ( Most TH-camrs don’t!)

These shears were assembled in Italy and the blades were made in Taiwan.
Is there any difference between 95 05 20 US and 95 05 20 SB - As I have noticed its listed differently on Europe market and US market.?

The travelling showman chanel 🎅🎅🎅😂😂😂
A piece of DIN rail I cut with side-cutter's that has a jagged edge, now my box tape cutter
Not bad, still gonna use my ck cutters though.

Is there a use for the nick on the top of the blades near the lock?
I was going to ask that. I think the guys missed a function there. What is is for?
@@bimble7240 Knipex don't mention it on the website either...
Most likely for cuting small cables, seen it on other tools
One of these days, electrical TH-cam presenters will discover the magic lost art of stripping their cables to the right length so that they don't have masses of strands hanging out the end.
Much better than Knippers from Scizex

Will it do me hair mop guys? You know how it is! Busy busy no time to go to get a trim😋👀
Using scissors or open boxes is hilarious. I just use a knife. Knipex even makes an electrician's pocket knife if you must go that route.
Where are these made ?
Can they cut Aramid/Kevlar strands which I need to cut for fibre optic cable. ?
from other reviews I've seen, not very well. the fibres tend to just get stuck in betwixt the blades lest you hold the kevlar taught.

Thought you were going to use them on that heat sealed plastic doorbell packet by the wall beside you, would be good for that
Good idea 👍
Can you cut 4 awg wire
What are the small notches on the top blade for?
Guessing to cut solid core wire.
Alan Partridge?
Am I the only one thinking they might well make a great pair of meat shears. Look ideal for breaking down a chicken.
🍗
Keep em blades away from steel cables would be my guess
and how to dismantle it to sharp it?
The blades are a mere clone of the Intercable's one! 😑 For the price asked it's better to buy the 16020-F1
Have they got bluetooth?
You’ll need the BT part number for that 😂

“SB" means the type of package. "SB" = Selbstbedienungsverpackung = "self-service package" usually a cardboard or blister package.

Sad this tools so expensives in Brazil 😭

Not cheap anywhere
Darylmar tem uma tesoura da marca LAOA muito boa no Aliexpress com o mesmo design e até barata, menos de 200 é é excelente
Too expensive...Black Panthers are almost half the price.
It's pronounced 'Knipex' as in 'Knipex'
Nice & thicc 🤣. Hidden tool ... Quickly "writing to Santa 🎅
I love the ergonomic from EU

Be good kitchen scissors
For work ehh not on my tool list anyway

No delivery outside UK why?
